Maui explaining for 40 minutes that by predictability he actually means "not predictable" instead of just changing the rubrique to unpredictability is something I can respect
Nice video. It's really refreshing for me to see tier 1 talent talk about maps because it doesn't happen very often, and as a hobbyist mapper the perception that the mapping community has (+ the community at large tbh) is quite far removed from how maps actually are at the highest level and what they offer for both viewers and players.
I am that guy that does not like playing Mirage but I have to admit that is objectivly a superb map. Nuke is goated and Ancient would be goated too if it had the same asthetics like Nuke, Vertigo or even the old Cache. I personally love maps that are gray/white and industrial looking.
In today's competitive CS landscape, I advocate for expanding the map pool to 9 maps. This change would encourage teams to stay together, fostering a deeper commitment to pushing the game's boundaries and nurturing the growth of specialist teams. Established squads like NAVI and Mouz would also benefit from this broader selection, adding an extra layer to the skill cap in the competitive scene. ... Moreover, it would inspire other teams to prioritize stability over constant shuffling, which has become all too common in tier 1.5-3. It's disheartening to see the game becoming increasingly aim-focused among many teams.
Complexity vs. G2, Ancient, IEM Sydney 2023. Ancient allows for such dynamic and fun CT sides, which in my opinion, is the primary marker of a fun map to watch.
Does anyone know why they decided to remove overpass, but keep vertigo, yet shortly after change A site of vertigo while still keeping it in the pool? Or Is it just Valve doing Valve things? I'm pretty sure that map has close to a zero pick rate in recent majors.
Idk but my opinion is that they have a problem with decision making. I might add that they didn't change dust2 bomb sites - I mean the plant range lines like on the other maps - and bomb explosion range, you can still save behind car on b
I've always said that Mirage deniers can keep coping all they want, thank you for this. It's the one map I just wouldn't ever remove from the pool and there's a lot of mediocre maps that need to be addressed.
My maui snake tierlist tierlist: S: riflers (man yapped for hours on this one but like in the good way) A: igl, awpers B: map tierlist (aesthetics of train and overpass are higher than what you gave them imo)
I know this is just some random NA glazing, but it's sad that this Complexity cores best maps were train and overpass, both good maps that were taken out of the map pool, and now their new best map is vertigo, a map which everyone hates and wants removed ASAP
I think Anubis is unquestionably better then Inferno/Cobble, but maybe that's just me. I hope they give Tuscan or some new map a chance in the next map pool change tho.
imo: S: Nuke - No question about that, solid in both gun fight and tactics A+: Overpass - Excellent map but got hated with no reason by some people (including me in the past 😂), Well balance since updated, highly unpredictable A: Mirage, Ancient, Train - The most basic map to play, practice and for competition, easy to play and to watch most of the time B: Cache - Good map but with flaw, bring back good memories C: Inferno, Cobble, Anubis - Predictable map, T-side simulator, slow pace D: Dust 2 - Current version suck as hell, Basic map design and gameplay, Aim God and AWPer heaven F: Vertigo - Boring as hell to play or watch, A Ramp simulator, Not very good in historically since created and add to map pool, definitely deserve to be removed long time ago
Even tho i dont like Ancient since for me this map is lowkey boring/ not fun, and i hate the colors. I have to agree that i enjoy watching pro play on it. But wtf is this Inferno disrespect damn, Inferno is at least A tier. Vertigo super fun to play but shit to watch i agree
IMO Vertigo and Mirage since the update has been a dogshit map and needs to be replaced. Vertigo is either retake simulator and Mirage is literally the new Dust2 of CS2 everyone knows what to do and how to do on that map it needs a change.
Maui explaining for 40 minutes that by predictability he actually means "not predictable" instead of just changing the rubrique to unpredictability is something I can respect
This is the level of yap many cant reach
Imma still watch the whole 40 minutes though 😂
I think the proper word we're all looking for is "variance" remember to hydrate boys
The fact that 4 out of 7 maps of the current mappool are below C tier shows how bad the mappool is rn…
But that's His rating and him rating it below C. Tomorrow S1mple might make a list with them in S tier and will start glazing him
@@somebodyanonymous5725 but he wouldn’t do that because the maps are shit and anyone decent at the game can see that
@@somebodyanonymous5725 s1mple was happy that dust2 was brought back, his opinion doesnt matter
Better than valorant though, where the best map barely makes it out of D tier

I am sad that “from ivy, out middle, through our connector” wasn’t mentioned 😢
Thank you Maui. Will only play Nuke, Mirage and Ancient from now on.

mirage is the map i play the most and my best map but it gets played way too much for my liking

Thanks for the great content Maui, always a pleasure to hear you yap
Actually a very good list. The only thing i would change is Cache, think it's on the same level as the other maps in A/A+
Maui's delusional takes lead to the greatest map pool ever. With Ancient as the only new map the pool would be insanely good.

vertigo f tier since release
kye tier
ORG management tierlist PLSSSSSS
Inferno is at least a B dude. and Overpass has no business being in A+. Same for train. Agree with everything else though.
cbble had great storylines , not just moments: nip c9 semi, later nip smoke evolution, smoke aces and sneakouts on b plat...
In my mind ancient and Anubis are the same basic 3 lane map but ones green lol
The math during the Inferno section is killing me, that map should be D-tier at best and he would've put it there if he did the math correctly lmao

Cobble getting 9 for aesthetics is criminal 😭😭😭
@mauisnake just saw you give anubis 7 for aesthetics. ignore the positive comments king 😭🙏
This is scientifically accurate
I think Anubis is unquestionably better then Inferno/Cobble, but maybe that's just me. I hope they give Tuscan or some new map a chance in the next map pool change tho.
Based long form content once again, lesgo!
I think cache and inferno need to bump up one tier both

Overpass A watchable? Really? The map where usually the first minute+ of the round nothing happens? I feel like you missed hard on this one.
Vertigo is too vertical for cs

wtf maui, go back to school holy shit, 70% of 20 = 16? wtf are you on about
Ancient is F tier. Most unbalanced map
? After molly nerfs on ct its one of the most balanced maps, even before it was max 60-40 ct sided
vertigo
Bring back de_season, de_contra and de_tuscan!
Rip overpass
Wtf is this list, Train is F tier, that's by far the worst map to watch.
