I don't think the tactics you use are "cheesy", in fact this is a strategy game which requires those tactics so what you doing my friend is playing it flawlessly.
bad news :( "Unfortunately, RUclips has removed annotations from all videos, so the nice tutorials and "skip battle" buttons have disappeared now." They were precious. Without them, video doesnt seem perfect(actually it was perfect. i have learned a lot of things from you, thanks :D) i hope you will add them again.

I love your videos dude! Thank you for them! I played this game as a kid but i never figured out all the details that can be exploited like you did. Well played sir! One thing i don't understand is why you stop and let the neutrals attack you instead of just marching on them straight on ?
+dan baciu Thanks, I'm glad people are enjoying them. Letting enemies approach to attack is mostly just a habit I have for conserving movement points. Usually I try to use the minimum amount to achieve what I want and sometimes letting them come closer sometimes saves a couple, depending on the destination after the battle.
The fight against genies and magi at the end, I believe you can used dispel on the illusion to completely make it disappear, make it even easier for you to win. I think you got the dispel scroll from the magi tower just right before the fight. Cancellation works as well, as they completely remove the illusion/mirror image, doesn’t matter if it’s your own or the enemy. Otherwise, great walk through.
evil eyes are probably my favorite neutral creature but i still cant understand why they didnt get unlimited shots with their eye attack but medusa's did
Hey man im trying the Campagne with Waerjak and i fail to kill the Pirates after getting on the boat , on the Difficulty before the Champion one , can u give me some tips on how to master that so i can free the Town? - first map of "GLORY OF DAYS PAST CAMPAIGN"
Waerjak's first map is really tough, probably the toughest in the whole game. Have you seen the video for that one? ruclips.net/video/H6i-Ez0TUjQ/видео.html
While I agree this is some heavy-duty tactical genius, I don't understand something: why do you occasionaly save the game and then immediately load it?
Mantaur104 The video was completed in many small sections, which were then joined together to make the final video. I recorded it over several days, as I usually don't have a huge amount of free time in one block. You can see the various dates that I recorded each piece in the Load Game screens. Also this way I can play ahead a little so there is less "thinking time" in the final video, which makes it more interesting to watch.
@@gammadragon2 I'm a veteran of Heroes V, and just started Heroes IV and I have a few questions. 1) In Heroes V there's a bar at the bottom telling you which creature is going to act next and so on, how do you tell which creatures will act soon in Heroes IV? Or is there no way to tell? How do you even tell if one combat round is over? 2) In Heroes V you can also hover over a creature to see clearly how far it can move in the next turn, with clear square tiles indicating so. For Heroes IV, all I can do is right click the enemy creature and get a rather obscure area that's of limited use. Even my own creatures I find it confusing: for example I have a creature with movement=13, yet on the interface how do you even count 13? Picture link: imgur.com/a/cMPt7lc
@@valour549 If you like heroes 5, go for heroes 3 instead of heroes 4. heroes 4 is a game with a very different feel than 3 and 5. About your questions, 1. you can only see it via speed factors of units and noticing which ones got morale bonus (those go before others). 2. yeah... it's just more 'fluid' battlefield than in heroes 5 :D you cant do much about it
I'm confused by something.. At 36:53.. You notice how the Berserkers aren't leaving the fortification? Could you please explain to me why don't they run out to attack Elwin? Splendid video btw, a lot can be learned from watching you. Did you figure out most of the things on your own? I really love the depth of this game and it's gameplay.. It's very well thought out, through and through.
Thanks! I played this game a lot when I was younger and figured out most of the tactics myself, though I did pick up a couple of tricks from other commenters :) Not sure why the Berserkers don't run out to attack. Seems to be a strange AI quirk. It does happen regularly though.
Btw at the fight with the medusa, I was wondering how come they didn't petrify Elwin? Was his magic resist high enough to certainly avoid that? As for the bersekers, when I played Might lately, they seemed to behave normally even inside fortifications.
I'm not quite sure what the algorithm is for determining the chance of petrification. It seems to have a few factors - number of medusa, magic resistance of the hero and level / health of the hero. Magic resistance does make a big difference and I'm fairly sure 100% MR prevents being stoned, but sometimes heroes with low magic resistance can still avoid being petrified if they are a high level.
Yeah, that's most likely the case. I always disliked how the player can abuse the hero in campaigns. Are you working on anything right now? Or got any plans?
Yeah, I had a caption describing why, but RUclips removed them from all videos. In order to optimise our skills choices, we want to buy a skill before gaining another level at that point.
On the Champion difficulty AI is a weak against siege attacks. On low difficulty computer just attack you no matters what. On champion I play with one hero and I win ...
Each segment of the video was recorded separately, then strung together using a video editor. I didn't have a lot of time to record long videos in one go, so that made it easier to put the videos together.
@@gammadragon2 Ah, I see, I always thought you did it in one sitting for some reason but this makes much more sense. Thanks for answering, wasn't even sure you're still around here!

There is something so satisfying about watching someone this competent. Almost three hours, and it's genuinely hard to find a single mistake.
ikr, most players learned how to play from this guy's videos
I played through this campaign when I was a kid. This was such a nice change of atmosphere, a campaign revolved around a love story.
I appreciate so much when you pause a while when the dialog windows come out so audience can read what's in the story line.
Man the writings in Heroes IV is so good!
Amazing play through. You owned the campaign mission, avenging everyone who had hard times in this game.
game: which curse would you like to use?
gammadragon: yes
It's so satisfying to see someone use quicksand, the oozy animation of it has always been my favourite amongst many others ahaha
Also Magi resurrecting themselves for skeletons at 2:43:24 is an absolutely hilarious power move
That is some high level commentary and play here! Bravo!

I beat the campaign with Elwin having *Scouting* and Nature Magic skills basically. No joke! On Champion!

Balance reasons. Imagine the eyes with Cat's reflexes and (in last campaign) Elf King's Bow.
Awesome, but heavily reliant on the terrain walk. Without it, some losses are bound to occur (minotaurs, for example).
Good you are back. And... that was fast!
