I had a 1964 beetle in that same color, the dash brings back memories, my Dad bought it for me for $200, when I got my license in high school Junior year 1973. It was our neighbors car and he was a neat freak. One day a gear head jerk changed the spark plug wires around and it was backfiring and running rough in the school parking lot. Took it over to a gas station and they fixed it in 2 minutes. Great car! You can tell the 64's from the back with the large license plate light cover and the latch handle, instead of the push button.
That is so rad passing that down to the boy, and still having time to fish! You are a good bean, sir. Keep going as I finally returned to the aircooled world and my boy is hooked. Need motivation from people like you.
For the age, I think you got a real good deal on that one. Considering the age, it's kind of mint condition. Outstanding base for a full rebuild. One of the best conditioned on your YT channel I'd say. Congrats! This one has lots of potential.
Oh my! Make this guy a regular source! Sure, it may cost more up front but, your joints and back are getting older. NO hours of mud digging and sketchy jacking, beating on wheels to make them roll and swapping when they won't as daylight quickly fades. NO pieces parts falling out of the bottom, including the bottom. And time to fish with the boy! Where has this guy been? Nice get!
Nice find and she looks solid. Yes Larry approved I would say because that 'undercoat' preserved it. Jason you will soon have it running. Good luck with the baseball Josh. 👍👍
Nice project, look forward to seeing interior sorted and more importantly the mechanicals. Make for a nice daily driver, daily driving Dad's '64 here in Phoenix Arizona, though when gets humid gets a bit uncomfortable as then the swamp cooler doesn't work. But, glad to have a vehicle to drive, been over four and half years. Would have been more if hadn't had your inspiration from when mentioned your medical condition, thank you. Cheers, Adriel
I'm amazed at how you can find Beetles with such an intact structure. That's impressive. In my country, Beetles are getting more and more expensive. One in good condition can cost between 30k and 50k. There are restored Beetles that cost much more than that. Next year, I'm going to buy one and I think I'll spend about 30k.
Probably 114k... The wear on the steering wheel & pedals would've been much more (in my opinion).. 214k on any vehicle from that era would be extremely rare .. I recall a time when a car with 100k was worth just about scrap price ... All that said , you have a great find there.
Back in the '60s, parents weren't running taxi services for their kids, and no one was using a VW Bug for a long-distance commute unless they had a deep love for back pain. So, 114,000 miles seems more believable, especially since the car’s in good shape, just a little sun-kissed and weatherbeaten.
Does Mark have more cars than you? Lol! Always love your content. Gonna get sentimental on ya. My brother and I along with my dad and grandfather always went fishing when we're Josh's age.. Best memories I have. Glad I can live vicariously through you. Great job you two.
Nice find on the 64! That under dash vent is pretty cool, never seen one before, that was cable operated, anyways. I saw this ad for this bunch of cars but can't seem to find it again. My eyes went right to the India Red 1960 there, that looked pretty nice! The radio, I think, is a European band one? The driver's seat is a 66, maybe they upgraded because it has the locking backrest? Who knows. It's sure solid! Plus, the 65 engine is a good one, it was the last of the 40hp here, but they added cam bearings. My buddy Dan, who sadly is no longer with us, was a factory trained VW mechanic back in 65 and said that was the best of the 40hp engines.
Sittin' here rebuilding some headlights for a friend's 66 sunroof bug. Always nice to watch you guys and your adventures. Java Green is a favorite color of mine. That steering wheel could be worn out from jewelry. Rings can do a lot of damage to surfaces like that. Might only be 114K miles.
Good time fishing preserved to video. You were on the good shady area of the banks. During summertime pike may be in shady cooler and deeper down for Big Pike. If you're at a stream of colder flow they could be on the rocks/ledges in shallows though. Good work on this video production. Thanks for taking us along for the rides.
What !!!,,,, no jacks,,,locked brakes,,,,screaming & running 😮😮,...love the bugs,,this is what you do,...great pick,......pat & family,.land o' lakes,wi.
Excellent video Jason :) & Josh :) , I sway 1964 Volkswagen car be 214.000 miles by shape in and nice shape too! Hopefully get engine in and test drive too ! Nice fish 🐟 Josh caught too and nice meal to!
That baby is a peach! WOW! You're right, Mark saved it just in time. I dunno, but I suspect it could be 114k, but it sure is possible 14k. No body damage (accidents), rust, worn seats, , glove box was nearly perfect, etc.... Seeing that glimpse of the drivers seat, I'd bet it sat in the sun and it torched the steering wheel and seat.
These Beetles seem to be in quiet a good condition considering that they where left abondened to rot away.Your doing a great job saving these icon classics, regards from Malta😉👍
Can't believe how big josh is getting, he's the main man . Please don't tell me you walked away from the rest of those beetles, I would be so disappointed 😞
Jason, You have said the quality of cars is not as good here because of rust to those of us in California. Most of us out here probably wondered if it only has 500,000 miles. At least, I was before you said anything. Looks like you and Josh both had a great catch. I hope you can pick up some of the other cars soon. :)
I learned to drive in a 72 sedan with primer and orange paint. I’d love one if my own. It was my mom’s she purchased after divorce. I once Joy rode it in my neighborhood at 13, picked up 2 girls from my school in front seat. 1986.
Very cool Jason there's a guy in Maine I dropped your name to he's got a quite a lot of VW parts in Maine. He's in face book market place.Tim McGarrie Herbron Maine.
Yes , it was a 61 and was white OG color . It was solid as well . Mark had stored these cars well over the years and just moved them there to be sold .
For those of us that live in Vermont, I wouldn't buy a car from here. I would go to AZ, NM, or CA and get a car from a dry climate to find a rust-free car. Vermont is one of the most beautiful and safest states to live in.
What are we doing today Josh. I was waiting for him to say "You're going to make me dig in filth". Anyway, the car rolled, winch worked, all is well in the world.
Beings that you're so familiar with VW's, has anyone ever installed a Porch engine into a VW bus? Everyone says that those models are so under powered. There is a guy who owns a garage in my hometown that is known world over for his service of Porches.
It’s cool watching your son grow up. Don’t blink dad it will be over before you know it. Another fun video.
So absolutely true.
That cars mint by your usual standards! 🤣😂🤣 Nice find!
😆 True

This is your buddy Sam ! I love to see you spend time with Josh! Tell him I want to see him wear the Honda hat I sent him!!!!
That is so rad passing that down to the boy, and still having time to fish! You are a good bean, sir. Keep going as I finally returned to the aircooled world and my boy is hooked. Need motivation from people like you.
thank you Tim. Great to hear you and your son are getting after it :)
Josh is growing overnight! Even some fishing time! It looks pretty good honestly not in bad shape. Never seen a vent under there.
What great memories you are creating for Josh. Well Done Sir.
Cars in great shape for its age. Real solid. Wow
it sure is , I had to buy it :)
Best part about the new shop is you now can continue to expand the collection!!!
Love this VW... had one just like it when I was stationed in Italy. Ended up not being able to bring her back to the states, broke my heart.
hey J ! hope all is well with you .... that sucks man!!!

You scored on this one buddy! Nice find! 😎😎😎

Another cool buy Jason . Love seeing Josh helping and happy fishing 👍
You got so many extremely cool cars. I wished I could buy one 1966 or earlier that’s worth rebuilding and driving.
Nice find and she looks solid. Yes Larry approved I would say because that 'undercoat' preserved it. Jason you will soon have it running. Good luck with the baseball Josh. 👍👍

You got a car that's not rotted out ??!!! Seriously , it's in amazing condition. Definitely Larry approved 😄
What a beautiful piece of property Mark has up there. What a view.
Great catch of the fish Josh
Another great find, i just realised I need a couple of Kubota's,👌

Very cool pick J & J! Time spent with kids is the best, to show them the ways.
64 is pretty clean!
Man, he’s growing up!!
Probably 114k...

Love the 2 tractor method 👌.
I'm glad you caught one fish .
Thanks , on the drive home Josh mentioned he caught it on the NH side haha

Solid bro! Add an engine and tires, ready to roll....
Does Mark have more cars than you? Lol! Always love your content. Gonna get sentimental on ya. My brother and I along with my dad and grandfather always went fishing when we're Josh's age.. Best memories I have. Glad I can live vicariously through you. Great job you two.
Cool looking Beetle. I kinda like the hodge podge of green and blue but I am tired right now so my judgement may not be the best. lol
Nice find on the 64! That under dash vent is pretty cool, never seen one before, that was cable operated, anyways. I saw this ad for this bunch of cars but can't seem to find it again. Beautiful condition for a 60 yr. old car! Nice find Jason.
yes :)), thank you Thomas
Great video thank's 👍
Thank you Robert
Score!! Great Team work. He will soon be running rings around you
Lifting that body was a smooth operation, but HEY, drill some drain holes in that nice floor pan so it stays nice!
That baby is a peach! WOW!
You're right, Mark saved it just in time.

Thanks Jason for another great video. Hope you’re having a great weekend! Looking forward to seeing what you have come up next .
Josh getting his inner “stand by me” look there 👍🏻
New merch opportunity too, “we still push old Volkswagens” 😂
Rock On !
Such beautiful scenery in NH and Vermont. The winters seem pretty intense but it looks like it would be worth it.
Ohhhhh I sold my ‘66 have beetle. What a great color!!
Nice find.
Thank you
Looks beautiful up there ! Nice 64 too
I hope your going back for that ‘58-‘61 faded red Beetle!😮
These Beetles seem to be in quiet a good condition considering that they where left abondened to rot away.Your doing a great job saving these icon classics, regards from Malta😉👍
They were previously stored inside . The owner stopped renting the place they were stored and dropped them
There on his property
Boy did you hit a gold mine really looking good
thank you, yes, i'm very happy with it
I’m jealous of all the space and toys which you have😊
Nice ride.
Thank you Douglas
Nice car from a nice guy. I live by Mt. Monadnock , NH..
Thank you , yes Mark was a great guy to meet and buy from
Clean, very clean! I'm glad you didn't give Josh one with a tree growing thru it..
That 64 is in great shape!
yes :))
Great work guys its going to be saved
Thank you MR M
Good times
hello guys //good 2 see you
hi Chris, you too !
Another nice ride. I was at the auction tonight, and they had a Volkswagen book from 61 up. I got out bid. Ugh
Looks like my back yard. With 16 Bettles hanging out.
You remembered the winch remote and the battery was charged. Awwww.....where's the fun in that? You didn't struggle at all.
haha, we the winch is new and for a little while i thought i did forget the remote and event the hook for the cable :))
I thought for sure you were getting another convertible. The 64 Looks good. Take care.
Solid car J! Definitely 1500.
Thank you !
Can't believe how big josh is getting, he's the main man . Please don't tell me you walked away from the rest of those beetles, I would be so disappointed 😞

your videos are the best, they're just too short.
Java what a color !!! ash tray rot & the home made PS floor vent 😂. The PS side front light looks like its a early Porsche 356 🤔lens
I learned to drive in a 72 sedan with primer and orange paint. I’d love one if my own. It was my mom’s she purchased after divorce. I once Joy rode it in my neighborhood at 13, picked up 2 girls from my school in front seat. 1986.
Nice collection 👍🤘.
Top little work kid
Very cool Jason there's a guy in Maine I dropped your name to he's got a quite a lot of VW parts in Maine. He's in face book market place.Tim McGarrie Herbron Maine.
I think you should make it a 12 V system this way you don’t have to worry about anything big super fan your channel
I think that’s the plan with the 12v 1500 and 67 tranny
That yellow Vert looked interesting too.
Yes , it was a 61 and was white OG color . It was solid as well . Mark had stored these cars well over the years and just moved them there to be sold .
It looks like you found a good 64. Putting in the 67 transmission seems like the way to go.
Lucky son !
yes but lucky Dad too :))))
Are you still going to rescue the vans from the woods? Love your channel!!
Yes , I went up last week after 2 days off rain up there and it didn’t go too well lol
I've been to Vermont twice and didn't see a single bug 🙁 Nice collection!
Nice one.
thank you PC
Hello from Vermont
Hi Adam !
Hell yeah!!!!
I want to see the original 1964 upholstery under that 1966 drivers seat. Nice car!
Haha, well good thing I was poking around and showing you the OG upholstery on the passenger side :))
Radio Vunderbar !!!
Hi Richard, I’ve never had one with that radio , very cool
That is a sweet Java 64!
Thank you Jim

I’d go with 114,000. Can’t imagine another 100,000 on it looking that good.
nice job.
Thank you Jim
rear has a XLR male connector mounted .. it is usually a microphone connector.
Is Java the name of the color? That thing is beautiful! Great find man! And Josh is getting so big! You're a good dad!
Cool
I wouldn't care if it had 2 million 214,000 that body is excellent compared to most rust belt bugs. You scored even with that mousage by the ashtray.
Theirs Walleye in there too.
Another fish we have never caught 👍
That was a great find Jason way to go and Josh did great helping you best regards Andy Allen.
What are we doing today Josh. I was waiting for him to say "You're going to make me dig in filth". Anyway, the car rolled, winch worked, all is well in the world.

Is this the new you? A rolling, non rusty car that has air in the tyres? You didn't even have to crawl in the mud or burn out the winch motor. 😄👍
