Ok looking around the yard and seeing the bug in the driveway you're working on, the pan on blocks and the body on another wooden frame. The fact that Jen still talks to you much less married to you, says a lot about how good of a person she is.
She definitely a rare find. _That sounds like I was commenting on a car_ 😮💨
@@metoon3092she don't BUG HIM. On his car hobby
She’s getting him back didn’t you hear Jason? He distinctly said she was making a tuna casserole 😬🤢🤮
Jen sighting! Watchability up 10,000 points!
Jay love the entertainment! I’m 63 and a old gear head and widower. If I was closer would be cool to hangout and wrench with you.
I think Jen likes it, she’s just hiding her desire to have it as her daily driver. It goes well with her uniform 👍
haha, yes :)
Oh My God...clear coat the patina. LOVE IT!
i love it too , thank you
YES, we really want to watch you do all of this. 😎
I never thought to wetsand in the rain. Oh geeez sunroof open.
She didnt mention liking it 😁 But she said you like the color.
That was very nice of you to bring up my channel. Thank you my friend.
The rain wet sanding makes perfect sense. I friggin love that car bro.
thank you Michael, me too !
Had 7 VW Bugs in my 60 year driving LIFE including FIRST CAR ( a 64 VW BUG) - it makes me feel YOUNG watching you save these cars and the fact that you got rained-on was nice too ! :-)
Hey!!! Thank you!! My shirt!! Watching now!
yes!
Sometimes we have to push our projects out of the way to keep peace in the house. ☺
I mean, Jen has literally colour-coordinated with the car, she secretly loves it.
Never mind Jason one day you will have a nice shop to work in! 😂. The 64 is getting closer to having a new transmission and new engine so she will be driving soon. I hope you enjoyed your tuna bake that Jen made for you? Take care Jen, Jason & Josh. 👍👍
Hi Jason its Jake, i hope you are doing well. And have a great rest of your summer.
Hi Jake, thank you, you as well
Your wife is a Saint bro!!!😮
Incredible video man! Would absolutely adore a mid 60s Java 🤙🏼
12.10 I bought a rebuilt Bosch starter, put on the shelf, then months later installed only to find didn't work. Took it to a local rebuild shop, needed all new parts, clearly the rebuild was just new poor quality paint. Shop said this been happening since moved to China. So I recommend having a local shop rebuild what you have.
Cheers,
Adriel
I love your turcoise bug! Sorry you have to suffer in the rain. Best wishes for sturdy restoration! If you can run accross a can of Karskin reconditioner it was the best for paint oxidation. Bye!😅
Watching that ratchet change it’s mind was highly entertaining! 😂🤣
haha, i was all stretched out / contorted trying to get a shot with the gopro in one hand and that whacky ratchet in the other .
Looking good Jason should be a great bug when your finished Andy Allen.
You may get this one running sooner rather than later. Body and interior are in very good condition. Need some good weather over a week to do the swap.
Nice job sir Nice VW Nice show 😃👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
thank you Francois
The 67 wider trans is better with normal tires. Looks better with stock front beam. Axle/housing swap you can change it. Nice 64 like the paint
I think Jen deserves a trip away. Then you can get more VW's while she's away. Win Win.
yep
Excellent video Jason :) also Jen also like you do on vechiles too bet and Java car is interesting for sure!
I'm sure Jen loves the car ! Isn't blue her favorite colour? This one even has floors.
Surprised how little rust was on the car. Looks like good bones.
yes, just came in from pulling the tank and buffing the dash, crazy how solid it is
Sham wow seat covers for the win!
Jay you bring back fond memories but my first Volkswagen in 1971 was a 1958 beetle that was cheap the junkyard front was Bent bad transmission wouldn’t stay in third gear ,,,,,,,,motor was tired,,,,,,, floor pans were shot,,,,,,, rockers were shot```````````remember pulling the transmission out to change the front housing so it would stay in third gear,,,,,,,,, if it wasn’t for the step-by-step complete idiot repair manual for the Volkswagen……….. I probably had to scrap it …………….it makes me think…Do I want to purchase another Volkswagen at the other end of my life,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, maybe a dune buggy,,,,,,,, not a bug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! keep up the great work……. by the way your wife sits right there next to God,,,,,,,,,,,,,, she’s a saint to put up with all your bullshit safety Sally a.k.a. Samuel bacon
nice job.
thank you Jim
You did ayyy 👍 ok....love the color And the car
Hey it's cool right, as long as the little lady clicks all the other boxes. 😊
Great Car!
I love your friend's knowledge about the VW Bugs years and options. Is he for Rent? He would be a great person to have when buying a VW.
I'd be so tempted to clear the blue/green patina. Looks cool.
Don’t you have a shop? A really really nice one? 😂
Dear jeffbannon
Yes! But, as long time viewers know, he likes to risk his marriage constantly by bringing junk cars to his home! 😁 ;-)
Best regards, luck and health in particular.
who me ?🤣👍
My 1976 T2 Westy is named Steve Austin. So I like B.B.
you buy cars faster than I buy guns but I only have one gun in pieces at this time.
haha!
Hi Jason, I'm from vermont and this bug looks familiar. There used to be an air-cooled vw shop In westminster and that car looks like one they had there. I might be wrong but I recognized the bridge to n.h. I've been over it from bellows falls vt I think. Love the content and old vws and also the fact that you were in vt.
was it at John's Car Corner ? could of been ? I love being in VT !!!
@5150mxVW idk maybe it's been a while(2002-03) could of been there getting work done idk, but I do recognize it
We had a few veedub car shows here in Johnson back then there was a club
Yes it was I just found the t-shirt I got from there.!!!!!!!
"You really want to watch me doing this?"
If you have to ask, the answer's "yes"!
Also, the Mrs. might not be impressed right now, but it'll grow on her.
Btw, hey Dubwerks - how's the tow truck doing?😀👍
Dig the Slades T shirt 😎
Yes
Really enunciate Small Peanuts….for those who may not hear consonants so well😂
so i'm having coffee and laughed at your comment ...thinking i probably murdered the word or mumbled it ...then i really laughed when it occurred to what you really meant hahaha
😂
Thanks for the cost.
👍
How about a overhead tatp on the frame to protect from elements😊
Hard to read Dubwerks. Didn't seem impressed though. LOL After watching some of your recent episodes pulling cars from the grip of mother earth ....some nearly in pieces...this was a treat!
he was a little envious i believe because at one point he was pondering purchasing it lol
Nice shirt
👍
Looking good Jay
thank you Paul, buffed the dash today :))
@@5150mxVW one pc at at a time that's all it takes
I'm a Pontiac, Ford, Crysler man. Why do I watch this channel??😮
haha, because I own all of those as well ??
I had a ‘66 that color. I loved it. Until it caught on fire. So sad.
Forget a shop, what about an umbrella man?🙂
First car 62 bug then had 3 pthers now dune bugy / sand bugy..now age 64...some things never change ..?
👍
My neighbor thought I was an idiot for wet sanding in the rain….
Yet here we are 😂
Hope all is well with the family.
only time it's cool enough to be outside in the 407 area code.
@@5150mxVW so you do remember 😂
Looking good guyz 🤙, what’s the story behind the cord mentioned while discussing the 66 front seats ?
Off topic. You may want to drain the floor pans in that chassis. Mosquito breeding grounds
Which of the impact tools you recommend? From the link I saw they have different models (lbs)
hi Carlos, that one is the WH710. I know they make a few different models / LBS, it worked fine for what I used on. I LOVE having it all in the case !!!
@@5150mxVW thanks
Hi Jason
hi Adam, hope all is well
@@5150mxVW I’m doing great super excited to finally get to work on my 73 beetle
Who the flying monkey is Bruce Banner. 😂
Half of my ratchet wrenches do that. Aaarrghhh.
With the way those back pans looked why not just swap the body over onto the over onto the other body pan you had sitting there. Unless you’re planning on tucking it back under the convertible
the chassis has an unreadable vin and it is a 67. I wouldn't turn the 64 into a frankenstein even if the 64 needed pans and the 67 chassis had a vin and title.
@@5150mxVW ok makes sense now. Was watching and just saw the chassis sitting there and thought hey that looks in better shape and you were picking parts off of it and thought why not swap the body over probably be a lot easier. But I can see the logic behind why you’re not.
You in ct??
yes
Wheres the LeMans?
GTO :)
I call bullshit . I've never had a beetle brake drum just come off like that one did
Hi Paul, I guess you didn't see the backing plate was already gone and the axle was disassembled by a previous owner. What exactly are you even calling BS on LOL...
I’m guessing the spring was it was jumping out of gear.
