My favorite Gen 1 pokemon is Charmander because my first pack back in the day when I started the pokemon journey I opened an evolutions pack and my first card was an charmander ! Also when Pokemon Go started ofc I chose as my first pokemon the charmander 😎 So basically Charmander is my favorite because of these great memories! :)

Also they are said to be able to unevolve. I kinda like that they either messed up the continuity or its just more mysterious than we know. Also in the game Regenerator plus its physical bulk is **chefs kiss**
Mewtwo! His story is a tragic one and if you go inside the Cinnabar Mansion you can see all they did to him, truly a great backstory for one of the best pokemon ever made.
My favorite Gen 1 pokemon of all time is Eevee. Eevee is a very basic Pokémon on the surface in terms of what it can do on its own, but its ability to evolve into multiple different types of pokemon is so cool. They've been able to use this ability throughout the history of Pokemon, and I love seeing the creativity Eevee allows. Also, Eevee is an incredibly cute Pokemon, and the name fits so well. It's just one of the coolest ideas for a Pokémon.
Gyarados. Was always my favorite Pokemon to use in the original games. Those games got me through some tough times as a kid. didn't really get the opportunity to collect the cards but I was lucky enough for the games and the show. love that you are still a kid on the inside and sharing your love for the cards and knowledge with all of us.
My favorite Gen 1 Pokemon has to be Magikarp, because I too only know how how to Struggle. But also because it evolves into one of the most bad to the bone Pokemon.

Favorite gen 1? The one and only Pikachu- in particular, Ash’s pikachu. The attitude it had towards Ash in the beginning and how it grew to a loyal companion. Plus, pikachu is so cute!
The trip down memory lane was so surreal. I lost a childhood friend of mine almost 2 years now and we played every Pokémon game up until around platinum on ds while going into 7 grade. It’s wild to think we were destroying so many skyridge cards to scan on our game boys. Seeing the artwork of all the older wizards of the coast packs got me happy and emotional. Sometimes you never really appreciate the small thing until years and years past by. Long time fan of what you do for this community. Keep rocking Leon!

Gyarados - growing up playing Pokemon red/blue I just always loved the look of a Gyarados. What made me love it even more was using Hyper Beam, the graphics and sound on GameBoy Color were the best!
Generation 1 favorite pokemon is Mew, not because its powerful or rare or mythical or legendary but simply because in mewtwo strikes back with the scene where mew and mewtwo fight, ash gets turned to stone and it was a teary scene showcasing alot of emotion and mew was just so happy and cheery and innocent it really captivated my child hood.

@Ana.Vieira_ Unfortunately there is quite a few people out there that do. I will not name anyone, but one time I was recommended a video new to me by another creator. I thought okay lets check them out. Within the first 5 minutes of his video they said "and remember, f**k Leonhart, multiple times". I immediately left the video. That's just one example.
Without a doubt my favourite gen 1 Pokémon is dragonite. A massive friend shaped dragon that's also an absolute powerhouse. Also has some of the best card art in my opinion. The gold full art in evolutions and the alt art in evolving skies is in top 10 favourite cards of all time.
Didn't think I could sit through a 2 hour video but I enjoyed every min of this! Recently started collecting because of 151 with all first gen pokemons (that speaks volume) and my favorite is Cubone because of the theory of him wearing his mum on his head for protection (I was a kid back then and I still cannot forget it to this day)😿

As someone who just got back into card collecting with 151, SOOO fun to see these opening and all the packs I missed during my broke years hahah Nidoking was always my favorite, using thrash at early levels in Pokémon BLUE and earthquaking everything in the elite four was epic. He was also cool as heck in the show!
Mewtwo is by far my favorite Pokémon of all time. I find his Lore the most fascinating of all Pokémon. He is a laboratory experiment created by science! Giovanni being my favorite Pokémon trainer adds just that much more to this amazing story. Hope you choose me! Thank you!

Such a difficult decision to choose one. I would have to go with Dragonite as my favourite generation 1 Pokemon. I think Dragonite has one of the best designs in generation 1 and I like dragons. I have so much nostalgia from the video games & watching Pokemon on TV when I was a kid. Dragonite was the one that stands out to me the most and I remember how mysterious this Pokemon was in the show. On another note, keep up the great work on these videos! I notice all the edits(sound effects, images popping up) and really adds to the video and make it more enjoyable.
Gotta be charmander for me. Was my first ever gen 1 starter. So many memories. Christmas morning, 2002, getting pokemon Ruby while my friend got Sapphire. Sitting outside on the doorstep for 4 hours straight playing the games together. That excitement, the rush of playing my first pokemon game. Then came pokemon fire red. Getting to experience the original generation but remastered, after I'd had the cards and watched the anime for years. That feeling is pure nostalgia and has kept me as a fan my whole life. Very glad I was part of the early days of pokemon.

Great video! I always enjoy these videos of opening 1 of every pack; it's a great way to show people newer to the hobby what we were able to experience since the very beginning! As far as the question, my favorite gen 1 Pokemon, and favorite Pokemon of all time, is Gengar! I've always been drawn toward ghost Pokemon for some reason, primarily because I think their attacks are awesome, but Gengar appealed to me right away as a kid and has been my favorite ever since!!

Although I love Charmander, I have to go with Eevee! Eevee is special to me because it was the first Pokemon card that i recieved from a friend on the playground in elementary school. Eevee was literally my introduction to Pokemon and I have loved Eevee (and Pokemon) ever since!

SQUIRTLE!!! Squirtle is my favorite Gen 1/all time Pokémon. I had this squirtle plush as a kid and I used to bike to a nearby American flag in the neighborhood and pledge allegiance to squirtle 😂 I imagined that every day that I pledged, my little plush Pokémon would become more & more alive. I even played through one of the game boy games with my squirtle holding an everstone and never evolving lol Happy to see that squirtles your favorite as well! First of all, I know it’s way to late to win those epic packs. However my favorite gen 1 Pokémon is Farfetch’d. Not because it’s the best Pokémon to play TCG with in any way. But I have a great memory of me showing my mum this card while at the store and showing how cook it was. For her to just turn around, grabbed a leek and throwing another to me. Then we actually pretended to be farfetch’d for the rest of that shopping trip. And thank you @LeonHart for bringing that memory to life again!
My favorite gen 1 Pokèmon card is blastoise because when I was five years old, I had about 10 pokemon cards that my friends had given me and I wanted some of my own. I asked my parents for 6 months straight until my birthday where they suprised me with a blastoise EX tin.
Ganger is my favorite he is the first big hit I ever pulled and I have stuffed animals of him and even my friends and family buy me stuff that’s ganger all the time to surprise me lol (that’s why he is my favorite) 😊 This was a awesome video, there is some really cool packs that have been made and I hope they keep making more for many more years. Outside of the starters, my favorite Pokémon from gen 1 probably has to be Venomoth. I’ve loved moths and insects since I was a kid, and venomoth is such a simple yet pleasing design. Venusaur is easily my favorite starter though!

Pikachu!!! My sons and I ripped tons of packs and I always got him and love watching all of the VHS tapes of Pokemon with them. Now I started learning how to play the game and started collecting with them. It is so fun and we are connecting together with it just like we did almost 20 years ago. Although I love Charmander, I have to go with Eevee! Eevee is special to me because it was the first Pokemon card that i recieved from a friend on the playground in elementary school. Eevee was literally my introduction to Pokemon and I have loved Eevee (and Pokemon) ever since!
I’ve just started collecting once again and I’m starting with base set. The nostalgia is really hitting. Keep up the amazing work!

SQUIRTLE!!! Squirtle is my favorite Gen 1/all time Pokémon. I had this squirtle plush as a kid and I used to bike to a nearby American flag in the neighborhood and pledge allegiance to squirtle 😂 I imagined that every day that I pledged, my little plush Pokémon would become more & more alive.
I even played through one of the game boy games with my squirtle holding an everstone and never evolving lol

Awesome video! Fun to watch all the different packs just recently got back into collecting the cards but been a fan since day one my favorite gen 1 Pokemon would definitely be blastoise! Reason being my olders brother’s favorite was Charzard and he got red and I got blue for gameboy back in the day! Always loved the cannons on his shell just thought he was a awesome Pokémon! Thanks for the chance!

My favorite Pokemon from Gen I is Mew. What I like about him is that you need to have a pure heart in order to see him, so Mew summons in us the best of us, the purity of our hearts.

Fav gen 1 Pokémon is Gyarados ever since the first Pokémon movie. Guy tried to take on Mewtwo. Goat!
First of all, I know it’s way to late to win those epic packs.
However my favorite gen 1 Pokémon is Farfetch’d. Not because it’s the best Pokémon to play TCG with in any way. But I have a great memory of me showing my mum this card while at the store and showing how cook it was. For her to just turn around, grabbed a leek and throwing another to me. Then we actually pretended to be farfetch’d for the rest of that shopping trip.

My favorite gen 1 Pokèmon card is blastoise because when I was five years old, I had about 10 pokemon cards that my friends had given me and I wanted some of my own. I asked my parents for 6 months straight until my birthday where they suprised me with a blastoise EX tin.
Magikarp - simple, but becomes Gyarados 🎉
My favorite is definitely Squirtle due to the episode with the dark shades! I thought that was the coolest thing as a kid!

Outside of the starters, my favorite Pokémon from gen 1 probably has to be Venomoth. I’ve loved moths and insects since I was a kid, and venomoth is such a simple yet pleasing design. Venusaur is easily my favorite starter though!
Seeing cards I own from when I was a kid showing up in the bottom left is absolutely amazing.

Pikachu!!! My sons and I ripped tons of packs and I always got him and love watching all of the VHS tapes of Pokemon with them. Now I started learning how to play the game and started collecting with them. It is so fun and we are connecting together with it just like we did almost 20 years ago. I don’t like a lot of Gen 1 pokemon, but my favorite is clear: Starmie. I like starfish irl and also dig the alleged connection to space. It also helps that its stats are nuts

I’m with you on the Squirtle! Such a classic and flagship poke that has stood the test of time. They’re cool and tenacious and showed up a lot in the show when I watched as a kid. Has all the nostalgia and all the coolness of the squirtle squad as well😎
