That black and white daisy scarf could be a vintage piece by Vera Neumann, or a more recent re-release of her design. She always just signed her pieces "Vera." I have three of her scarves in polyester, also with daisies, but in a different design. My plan was to frame them. I always get excited about a Vera piece. Look her up in Wikipedia - she was a textile artist and one of the first designers whose goal was to make women's fashion affordable. In the 60s and 70s, she was super popular. I mean her stuff was everywhere!
From Wikipedia: "She came across some parachute silk at an army surplus store, an event which marked the beginning of her scarf business. She kept her signature on art transferred to the scarves, thus creating the first signature scarf in history. "Vera scarves" became immediately popular and Vera herself was soon on first-name terms with well-known women around the country. Marilyn Monroe was a fan as were Grace Kelly and First Lady Bess Truman, who selected Vera fabric from Schumacher, Inc. to decorate the third-floor solarium windows and upholstery of the White House. Women from around the country also chose Vera products for their color and cheerful prints."
She did home fashions, too. When I was 19 (in 1979) and moved into my first apartment, my mother bought me a set of Vera napkins and coasters. I treasured them and used them for years! I always loved Vera's designs. To my mind, she is THE Vera, and I hate when some resellers find her pieces and think it's Vera Bradley - no, no, no! Make sure you put her last name in your listing - there are people who search for her vintage items.
