In season 12, Kaela said Todd doesn’t listen to her so she goes through Kandi. She never elaborated on what “going through” Kandi meant but I think she was saying if she needs something (money)…she goes to Kandi. I could be reading it wrong though.

It’s also where you learn how a man should treat you. If your father is never affectionate, you may end up dealing with guys who don’t really care for you, just want you around. He needs to show them how a man should speak to them, how he should listen to them and honor their point of view!

Tbh. I don’t know how he does it. I don’t think I could survive this family. Riley clearly displays a lack of trust in her Stepfather and Kandi don’t see it. Kaela wants affection and support from her dad and he wants to build her to be strong, the world is not nice, but deep down he says all the time how much he is proud of her. Todd is trying to make sure the family fortune has longevity and leave a legacy. The Burruss’ are protecting what’s theirs and I get that. Riley saying she wants the whole thing once Kandi is gone but that makes not even financial sense when she never had to work for anything. She may have grown but she has a lot of growing to do. Plus, we don’t live with them, we know nothing for sure.

They share a lot of the same mannerisms,entitlement being one of them. Kandi has always had the means to spoil her children. Todd hasn't always had that luxury. Riley and Kaela come from 2 different worlds and I think Todd is tryna to keep her humble and push her into securing her future in the way that Kandi has for herself. I think he pushes too hard at times but I believe its because he doesn't want her to ever get complacent simply because they have money now.

Why is everyone in kandi’s life worried about what Todd might do with kandi’s money if she passes? (God forbid) that’s just super interesting. Even his own daughter agrees that he wouldn’t give them KANDIS money if something happens. She needs to have a trust fund for all of her kids, her kids get the money (the song writing credits) all three kids should each get half the ownership of the restaurant’s that they have, Todd gets the house cars and the other half of the restaurant.

People seem to forget how cruel society can be. Everybody wants their parents to love and coddle them so much as if to receive unconditional affection. But here things the thing, Todd is being a good father. The man is being a "good father" by at least handing his daughters the tools so they'll be prepared for hurdles this world introduces. It's not always gumdrops and saveloys--you must be calculative at times.

These four people might not always be rich for the rest of their lives, bad things happen sometimes. So they need to learn how to operate on low income and they also need to learn how to make money not depend on daddy. He shouldn't make his kids struggle for the rest of their lives, but he does have an obligation as a father to teach about hard times and not getting what you want. It's called survival and we should all teach our children the basics. "A man who has not prepared his children for his own death, has failed as a father."
