They don’t build these new trains like they used to. Same goes for all new vehicles in general. The police still use a fleet of crown vics in case the newer cruisers break down and that happens alot
Its disgraceful what the LIRR lets their old MP-15's looks like. For years and years they've all looked like shit. Reminds me of really low budget, short line class 3 railroad locomotives.
This is the first and only time I’ve ever been able to find a video of an EMD DE30AC starting up, thank you for this :)
Love the sound of a huge diesel locomotives running and spitting
Beautiful video! LIRR let that locomotive sit, definitely a fuel issue.
Good to know, thanks!
I love when a 1966 diesel rescues new junk!
1977*
@@ARandom777 even better
Fantastic catch!!! Awesome sequences!
Thank you!
@@LIRRTV Anytime! :)
Excellent video of this unique operation, especially the startup and coupling. Thanks for sharing.
Appreciate it, thanks for watching
Fantastic man!
Thanks!
@@LIRRTV you’re welcome!
I like seeing a 46 year old locomotive rescue the newer tech!

Nice video!
Thanks!
the rescue locomotive needs a new horn upgrade .nice vid
Now there’s something you don’t see everyday!
For sure!
Wow I never seen them set it up and couple up usually I just see it moving
Yeah I was pretty lucky to be able to see this, doesn’t happen that often
I’ve always wanted to operate those MP15’s. The LIRR should ve never stopped using those for regular commuter trains
0:15 This sounds like a car or truck not starting up
is that radio audio about the application coming from an employee radio or a personal scanner of yours and what model is that scanner or VHF radio?
Nice I saw that on the traintime app it had emopmqment trouble
Yep, they had to replace it with a bus
@@LIRRTV yep
like lirr

It's not like they lead revenue trains or that anybody cares.
0:15 This sounds like the vehicle engine flooding
What's going on?
What are U all low on?
Do all M7s, M9s, C3s, etc. have knuckle couplers for rescue other than their pin couplers?
Good question. I can’t say for sure, but I’d imagine they all do
They use compromise couplers in that event.
I think it makes sense that the rescue MP15AC engines carry ada
Adapters
Y is the train shut down?
What happened
Not sure what exactly, I wasn't home to listen to the scanner at the time 6610 broke down
