- I'm guessing Breaking Bad would look a lot different if they dealt speed instead of meth.
Season 2 Episode 4 - Down: Walt and Jesse appear to be in the clear, but now face trouble on their respective home fronts. Walt finds it's difficult to reconnect with Skyler and the rest of his family, while Jesse's parents kick him out of their house.

The most frustrating part is how even when Hank explicitly told her his visit had nothing do with Jesse, she still managed to make it be against Jesse
you make it sound like this isn't a totally reasonable reaction by the parents lol
@@amok00 I believe Nick´s point was that when Hank visited Jesse´s parents (looking for info about Walt´s whereabouts) Hank wasnt going after Jesse at that time, he was genuinely searching for clues to find his lost brother-in-law.
Its funny how that visit had nothing to do with Jesse´s shenanigans, but Walt screwed up his partner without knowing.
@@amok00 Yeah just because the parents are unlikable prudes doesn't mean they aren't in the right. This show really does have a way of making the unlikable characters be the good guys. Skylar, Howard, Jesse's parents,
It's not like they're wrong.
Yeah but I think Hank mentioned Jesse was "selling" drugs to Walter. That of course set the alarm on her and went to see Jesse's house and saw his lab.

Little did they know that they would be back in the same room and be threatened by what they found if they didn't take the price deal. It's all good, man.
I see what you did there.
Lol Better call ____!!!
Slippin Jesse
Oh the irony
I love this when he turns around and screws them out of $400,000 on the price of the house and buys it.
Saul no doubt wanted to do this since it probably reminded him of his treatment from Chuck
@DaScorpionSting huh I actually never considered that. Interesting
@@DaScorpionSting I'm pretty sure the writers hadn't thought that far ahead considering Season 2 introduced us to Saul aka Jimmy. Breaking Bad season 2 premiered in 2009 and Better call Saul wasn't aired until 2015.
@@Dmardiiiyou don't really know that to be factual. Writers usually have a backstory for characters even when it's not shown onscreen. Happens all the time.

If they hadn't kicked Jesse out, Jesse wouldn't have met Jane, and as a result, she wouldn't have relapsed into drugs, and she wouldn't have died, and her father wouldn't have gone catatonic, and those planes wouldn't have crashed into each other. I wonder how many more lives were scratched out the moment Jesse's parents evicted him
Indeed.
That's just causation, bro. Let's blame Hitler's great great grandfather for the Holocaust then. In the same way, the plane crash wasn't Walter's fault
@@fatherjimothy1834I mean life is a series of events that impact the formation and implementation of following events. Technically, hitlers grandfather did lead to the holocaust happening, although it is not his fault. These are just ideas and concepts we don’t make many conclusions on, they are often used for thought experiments.
Plus, this was about a specific event and the impacts it had on a much wider scale. Your example barely applies, its more like “Hitler’s grandfather was saved early in life by an accidental organ transplant list mishap. I wonder how many lives were killed by that mistake”
The thing is they were correct to evict him.
He’s a drug dealer
@@fatherjimothy1834 But in reality, everyone of those events would not have happened if the cause prior didn't have the effect they did after. Or at the very least, it would be unlikely to see the same issue as the scenario was very variable specific, and those variables would be entirely changed by the lack of the previous events. Example, maybe Jane relapses still, it would be likely another time, or at least very unlikely to be the same time, which would also mean the dad may have had the weekend off already, or even if his events were the same, there may not have been two planes that close to a collusion, that also didn't see each other.
A lot of variables lined up for that final event, but change any one and it's enough to change so much of the down river effects that result in more changes to the later effects so much more. Ie, change the timing, and even the people certain people meet/interact with can change, from being somewhere on a different persons schedule for work etc. Each of those changes reduce the certainty of the later changes by uncalculatable amounts, especially as they cascade through later changes that also change the equation themselves base don how THAT change was altered. lol
This is why we cook somewhere else and not on your own house
If you look back to the episode where they cook in his house, they needed to make 4 pounds for tuco or he was probably gonna kill them, so they were in hurry to cook. They tried to take the RV, but it broke down so out of desperation they cooked in the basement. Pretty dumb of them to not take down the lab though, but I mean they weren’t expecting to get kidnapped by tuco in hindsight.

We? Who's we?
It was sweet watching Saul tear them and their lawyer to shreds. In the end, Jesse held them to their deal whether they liked it or not.
We don’t know that was actually ever a deal. It’s coming from a lying tweaker so.
Any deal involving property interest in real estate must be in writing. Statute of Frauds.
Love how Jesse’s parents call BS on his lie about helping Hank and the DEA when they shook their heads.
jesse we need to cook.
Jesser wheer is the coccinae xdd
This is the moment where the house had been sauled
One of my favourite scenes from this show is when Saul blackmails the parents and their lawyers to get back the house
Jesse is the bad guy here not his parents. Jesse lives a life living off his aunts estate while doing drugs and selling drugs, at 24+ years of age. I too would sell the house if I was mom and dad

Chuck and Jesse’s parents are frustrating characters to watch. I want to fully hate them but I just can’t.
After all, Jesse just couldn’t help himself either. Look at how he made Jane relapse to addiction again which snowballed into the planes crash.
Jesses parents at least took drastic action to correct despicable behaviour…. Jimmy’s parents refused to accept he was a crook and thief and kept the fun going for him.
Yeah Jesse was a bad influence on Jane sure but end of the day she decided to go back doing heroin hell she is responsible for getting Jesse addicted to it.
They were such good parents that they had to hire an attorney to do their jobs for them. Sad.
@@carson11100they corrected nothing. Kicking him out of his house essentially making him homeless is not gonna stop him from dealing drugs, only promote it further.
@@KittehWorkshop True. But at least they are trying to put a stop to it….. Jimmy’s parents never did that! He always played on their heartstrings and they never once believed he was a conman, thief and liar! They stood by this until their deaths! Jimmy is partially the monster he is because of his parents weakness!
No he has 30 days. You have to evict him.
_”Vacate the house in 72 hours, or your parents have authorized me to contact the authorities.”_
Ooh, another case of this lawyer being a bit slimy. "Do what I say or I call the police" is called *extortion.* If Jesse went to the state bar and told them about this, this lawyer could be fighting disbarment.
That's not extortion lol.
@@fili0938 Yes, it is. Telling someone that they must do something for you or you will report a crime they committed, and that you will not if they comply _absolutely_ is extortion. It's also much worse since he's a lawyer. He has an obligation to report this crime, considering it was not committed by his clients.
@@KingAdrock420 It depends on the action you want them to make. If you want them to leave your property then it's not extortion.
That's eviction, you're given time to gather your things then leave
@@KingAdrock420yea that’s true! But who’s to say that this was even a real lawyer? They prob could have just hired some guy and told him what to say just to get Jessie to leave…
I wish we had a cameo of this lawyer in Better Call Saul
2:02-2:13 Saul Goodman used that against them
And after this episodes Walt vs Jesse started
I can fix him
All the people here defending jesse clearly have never lived with an addict and it shows.
The fact that this bit them backwards in the end is so satisfying tho
isnt it illegal for them to brake into the house like that, making anything they find void? Im pretty sure a owner needs to give a tendent notice before going in. at least thats what goggle said "California law requires landlords to provide tenants with reasonable notice of entry"
They're the owners, he had residential privileges. Did you even pay attention??
Definitely wasn't an easy decision, The Parents could only do so much to not enable his behavior
Yeah totally. And as the series went on, you'll see that Jesse made a complete turn around on his life and ultimately became a healthy, contributing member of society. /s

when I was younger and naïve I hated his parents, now that im older, I see the hard position they were put in, im glad in a small way they got resolution with each other in the end
Honestly, Jesse got lucky here. He could've been arrested for this! Even if he cleaned out all the equipment, it was still there to begin with, and he was actively using it.
Not sure why but I found this scene so hilarious I fell on the floor and spilled my food everywhere…
the parents had every right to kick him out
And he bought the house lol
I don't get the Jesse sympathy parade in the comments, yes he's a great character, but he's burnt out more second chances with his parents here than you can count on both hands and they've had enough, he's not responsible, truthful, or making an effort. He's out.
Thats fair but still his aunt gave him that house because he took care of her. Kinda uncool of the parents to take that from him.
Why do you care about his morals?
Everyone lives their lives differently and I think his parents are abhorrent people
@@snailbert147 Unless Jesse had the paperwork which stated that his aunt left ownership of her house to him, his parents had every legal right to kick him out.
@@BillyButcher90 I'm not talking about the legal rights.
@@snailbert147 Then what are you talking about?
This is the part where Jesse is given a 72 hour eviction notice.
This could classify as unlawful eviction, Jessie could file a lawsuit or get them arrested

Loving how the mom's eyes match her cardigan
I love that Jesse's mom was Kevin Costner's wife in Field of Dreams. Just seems ... right.

It's a tossup between who I hated most in the series: Ted or Jesse's parents.
Todd, Lydia for me.
Ma and Pa Pinkman kicked Jesse out of the house because he wasn’t up to Los Pollos standards 😢.

They're willing to lose the house in order to stop being enablers for Jesse. That's parenting right there.

I don't know why Mr and Mrs Pinkman were hated. They had every legal right to kick Jesse out of his late aunt's house.
А если бы у них было законное право продавать органы своих детей?
Except his late aunt directly GAVE the house to him. His parents should have no right to kick him out of the place he owns
Because they're hypocrites, emotionally abusive, and implied to be one of the primary reasons why BOTH of their sons started using drugs.
