There's actually a blooper of this scene. The garage door didn't work the first few times. They both stayed intense and in character until about the 4th or 5th try. Cranston broke and laughed. Norris kept the straight face but fell into Cranston, indicating he couldn't hold it back anymore either. Funny, but more cool to see how "into" the scene they were, even with the garage door failing 😂
The sheer change in tone when Cranston said the words "tread lightly" is impressive. As someone with a small amount of acting experience, changing your tone so abruptly, in the middle of a sentence at that, is extremely impressive.

I disagree, and this show isn't even that old. Breaking bad season 1 wasn't even as amazing as it got later on. Shows like slow horses and severence are in the same league as this.

It's like he is saying to Hank: 'Look, I still consider you family and this all can be resolved peacefully, but if you come too close to ruining my facade life I will destroy you' - just with the tone of his voice. 4:21 I know it’s a meme but this is the moment Walter became Heisenberg. Bryan Cranston’s subtle acting with his voice when he says “tread lightly” you can hear Heisenberg slipping in. What a brilliant performance by one of the greatest modern actors.
Hearing hank speak out to all the things Walt has done really adds to the insanity of what’s happened in the show. Like out of all the evil bastards that’s been on the show it’s crazy that in the end Walt is basically just as evil if not worse then all of them.
I never noticed before how heartbroken Hank looks at the beginning of this clip. Man almost looks like he’s about to cry. This is his brother who could’ve been a billionaire, the smartest man he’s ever met, who talked him into going through with his marriage, probably one of the only men in his life he genuinely has respect and love for - and THIS is his mortal enemy, the biggest fish he’ll ever catch, a white whale that ruined his life and threatened everything in it. And on top of that, by all the sidelining and machismo and belittling at birthday parties, this is a monster that he arguably had a hand in creating. The most dangerous kind of monster, one with a human soul. You can feel Hank’s horror and guilt at the end. Really tragic character.
Honestly I think the fact that Walt brought it up in the way he did was what confirmed it for Hank. I think in Hank's mind if Walt was innocent he would've ignored it, just taken it off without telling him, or been more direct and said "hey Hank I found this on my car what gives" rather than the reaction gaging thing he did
This confrontation would happen eventually. Hank is like 99 percent sure he's Heisenburg, and Walter is pretty sure Hank knows when he finds the tracker
Hank peed his pants a little when Walt said "that is not going to happen". He saw the real Heisenberg and realized he was talking to the most dangerous person he's ever met.

One of the best scenes in movie history. It would be such a surreal experience to be facing this dying guy you've known since forever, then realising he is an unimaginable ruthless criminal mastermind. Love how Norris conveys this shock with facial expressions.

4:21 I know it’s a meme but this is the moment Walter became Heisenberg. Bryan Cranston’s subtle acting with his voice when he says “tread lightly” you can hear Heisenberg slipping in. What a brilliant performance by one of the greatest modern actors.

Hearing hank speak out to all the things Walt has done really adds to the insanity of what’s happened in the show. Like out of all the evil bastards that’s been on the show it’s crazy that in the end Walt is basically just as evil if not worse then all of them.

I never noticed before how heartbroken Hank looks at the beginning of this clip. Man almost looks like he’s about to cry. This is his brother who could’ve been a billionaire, the smartest man he’s ever met, who talked him into going through with his marriage, probably one of the only men in his life he genuinely has respect and love for - and THIS is his mortal enemy, the biggest fish he’ll ever catch, a white whale that ruined his life and threatened everything in it. And on top of that, by all the sidelining and machismo and belittling at birthday parties, this is a monster that he arguably had a hand in creating. The most dangerous kind of monster, one with a human soul. You can feel Hank’s horror and guilt at the end. Really tragic character.

Honestly I think the fact that Walt brought it up in the way he did was what confirmed it for Hank. I think in Hank's mind if Walt was innocent he would've ignored it, just taken it off without telling him, or been more direct and said "hey Hank I found this on my car what gives" rather than the reaction gaging thing he did
This confrontation would happen eventually. Hank is like 99 percent sure he's Heisenburg, and Walter is pretty sure Hank knows when he finds the tracker
nothing, this is not real, it’s fiction… literally the whole point of the scene is for this reveal to happen

That moment must be so satisfying for Walter, being more powerful and arrogant than Hank and showing him who he really is
I don’t think it was satisfying but Walt ego took over at this moment
If Walt didn't ask about the tracker, then none of this would've happened
Hank peed his pants a little when Walt said "that is not going to happen". He saw the real Heisenberg and realized he was talking to the most dangerous person he's ever met.
Walt turning around with the tracker confirmed Hank's worst suspicions. Until that moment, Hank still had some doubt.
From now to the end of the show, Hank does all these for his ego.
Still crazy to me that Cranston directed this scene, it's one of the best of the whole series
