Yes, methi = fenugreek, Dried fenugreek leaves = Kasoori methi.

For Gujarati people vegetarian means :
[ 1) no meat/flesh ( regardless any animal )
2) no egg
3) no mushroom ]
4) but all the dairy products
These all is to be considered as a vegetarian , I know this becuz I'm a Gujarati person....
& As for vegan they don't even take dairy products , everything plant based...
