Hi tom this looks like fantastic Facility. I like the habitat that has all the alligators and all the crocodilians it looks awesome. I really like the part with the Nile crocodile swimming in the water
Thank you for another entertaining, educational and wonderfully narrated video. :) When I saw it was an alligator farm, I was concerned it'd be those dark sheds where they breed alligators for tourists' "entertainment" before the animals become leather products; however, these animals are happy, healthy and not exploited. Your passion and kindness for animals always comes through on your videos. Take care.
I was at this place on April 26, 2011. Excellent facility and worth every penny of the admission. Glad to see that they have kept up the exhibots and even improved some. I strongly recommend going in April as the birds are actively nesting, and you get as much from the wold life as the residents.
the "small" komodo dragon in the outdoor habitat is actually a Lace Monitor, usually the Komodo is outside and the Lace Monitor is inside but it seems they flipped them.
When you have trouble with the glare on the glass if you can turn down your exposure to -0.7 on the camera (not sure what camera your using to film with) that might help also holding the lens up against the glass will help alot. I shoot a lot for a major zoo and these things always been what I do when I get a situation like you were having. great video!!!!!
I grew up in Jacksonville - and always meant to go see Gomek, who I'd seen on tourist brochures. The year I finally got there was the year he had died, and I was devastated to have not gone before. Last year I was there about three weeks before this video was published, and we also went to Gatorland. Definitely go to both, if you haven't done!
Hey Tom I really like your videos videos are so awesome because I can get a visual tour from places I've not been to around the United States I've mainly been to a lot of zoo there are still s tons of zoos i haven't been to thanks for giving a visual tour of the the zoos including zoo Tampa in fact if you ever quit your channel I'd probably uninstall youtube
Thank You so much 😃 I try my best to show everything on my tour's. I wanted the viewer to see exactly what to expect to see. I'm happy you enjoy my content, I don't plan on quoting anytime soon.
The glare on their glass in the crocodiles of the world exhibit is no joke. I've been disappointed several times regarding that. My favorite visit was on a Halloween night event in a rainstorm, when I managed to get one of the big boys to jump out of the water on the boardwalk for croc chow. Scared me senseless though, and if staff had seen me doing it I'm quite sure I would have been escorted to the exit.
If the glare is really bad I usually try to put my camera up against the glass, that isn't always an option though. That's surprising, but I guess they will do tricks for snacks too.
fun fact: this zoo is the only place in the US to see a White-Headed Vulture! only other zoo in the western hemisphere with them is the Toronto Zoo. This zoo is also the only place in the US to see White-Crowned Hornbill and Mugger Crocodile and one of the very few that have Desert Crocodile, Black Caiman, and Hall's New Guinea Crocodile
This is almost a little like Gatorland. It was nice to see the birds out. I really hope the avian flu is over! Did you get to do the zip lining? If you didn't, have you ever zip lined before? I've never done it.
The nice thing about this place is that they have every crocodilian species.i haven't done any zip lining before, it looked interesting. Perhaps someday.

Very fun place for the family to visit. I think the price is a bit high.

Thanks for that clarification, I saw signage for both on that habitat.

Tommy You See Crocodilians rest in the sun to keep themselves warm
Correct, as cold-blooded creatures they spend a portion of the day in the sunlight.
Alligators
