I grew up in neighboring Green Cove Springs, Florida which is 45 minutes inland. I moved out to St Augustine in 2005 and had the best time of my life in that amazing city. I'm in Kansas City now, in my mid 30's and life slowed down tremendously. I think of St Auggie all of the time. And someday I'll return there. This truly is the safest city I've ever experienced in my life. I have lived all across Europe and many other cities throughout the journey of my life. And nothing compares to the experiences and friendships I held there. I miss it so much!
I didn't appreciate it when I had it though... I didn't realize how lucky I was to be from there. I was always dreaming of bigger & better cities and countries. To anyone out there, from St Aug, and the 904 in general, please appreciate what you have. Because you have no idea how raw it is in other areas.
After living in Florida for 30 years, I finally visited this city. It was awesome. Very peaceful. We did spend a day looking at the old renovated homes which I suggest. It was a very fun busy long weekend. Lots to see or great to relax.
Wonderful city, when I was there as a tourist I felt so proud as a spaniard and so happy being in that wonderdul country with extraordinary people that is USA. Saint Augustin is a historical jewel.
We are from Canada for almost 20 years we went to St. Augustine every January getting away from the snow, we love this city with so much history from Spanish people that lived there long ago, El Castillo de San Marcos still there and the Spanish street of St. George, wonderful city lovely memories, thank you for the video.
I was fortunate enough to visit St. Augustine for a few days during Spring Break in 2022, and I don't think I have ever had a more enjoyable experience.
I live here too but it got loaded with people when covid lockdowns started. Lots of upstate folks came down and stayed for long periods of time ironically here
I went there from NYC this past weekend on my stay in Jacksonville & I recommend it. The ambiance and food scene offers high-quality choices in seafood, Spanish, French and American restaurants and if you’re looking for sweets or a bar, this city delivers.
I love St.Augustine, and just Florida in general. St.Augustine is an amazing place, believe it or not but the people are pretty patient in traffic 🤯 shocking I know but that is just how it was for me when I went there it was calm and peaceful and I am thinking about going to their college! Have a nice day y’all 🏖️☀️
Would really love to visit one day. I'm truly awed at historical sites and love to touch the structures of old. There's an eerie yet romantic sentiment from "connecting" with the past.
I totally agree I felt that essence when I visited New Orleans for the first time. I've always driven through it but fir once I stopped and took it all in
Awesome video. You managed to illustrate the charm and essence of the area. I've seen other videos that are cheesy in comparison to yours. I've had my eyes on this place for a few years now as a retirement destination, can't wait!
So wonderful to watch your video just two days after I (finally) visited it myself! It is the first place I have been to that you have featured in your videos. For once I could say "Yep, I know just where that is and what it was like". Excellent video as always!
I'm 60 years old thinking about going there in October from Sunday to Thursday during the week I'm very culturally diverse love museums historical landmarks and live music and outlet shops what do u think?? Will I enjoy it? Please reply
So much Spanish heritage and history in these United States. Oh, did I forget to mention that the actual French Quarter in New Orleans was built by the Spanish?
Seems the original French district kept burning down due to its wooden structures. The Spanish colonists replaced them with stucco & other design changes.
I’m originally from Florida and the whole state as a whole is so so rich with history that it’s amazing especially up and down the east coast of the state
Born and raised in St. Augustine and yeah it's alright I like it well enough but everyone in the comments talking about how nice it is has got me appreciating it haha
I was raised in Jacksonville & Green Cove Springs & Orange Park. Anyway, I moved to St Augustine in 2005 and this was the best experience and friendships of my entire life. I moved to the midwest in 2016 and I miss St Augustine so much! Literally, I think of it daily.
I have to say Sir your video is well edited and professional. I appreciate a content provider who does not feel he needs to wear sunglasses to speak while filming himself on camera...You earned my JOIN to your channel!!!
Franklin Smith built the hotel after purchasing the land from Flagler. Franklin Smith ordered furniture that never showed up in time for grand opening. Only 3 rooms were furnished and Smith asked for financial help from Flagler within months. Flagler bought the hotel and the furnishings that showed up on his railroad, after he purchased it…for $325,000. Flagler changed the name to the Cordova and he had 3 hotels doing great!
The hotel room at the end. Which hotel is that ? It’s beautiful and I want to stay there . Also what’s the name of the restaurant at the end as well ? Steak looks great
St augustine is a Scottish rite crack town since always lots of meth heads and duel citizenshiter high horsers they will poison you with there chicho niño I saw a manager at a restaurant I worked at injecting a needle into the coke and pepsi syrup bags once
I asked my wife to marry me on top of the fort there back in 2010. Cool video, Flagler College is stunning by the way, you had a glimpse on your drone footage of it.

I have distant Spanish about 4 generations back. Some were Conquistadors as well.
I got some Italian in me, close enough?

Stumbled here on accident on a trip to Florida. Amazing place, visit during with winter when they light up the whole town!

Looks like a great city
The best part of St Augustine is over the bridge of Lyons on Anastasia Island. Because that's where the beach is.
*Lions* … 🦁🦁 rawrrr!
Henry Ford didn’t build the Casa Monica. FYI. Henry Flagler later bought it, but Ford hadn’t nothing to do with it.
Flagler sold the land to a frank smith. Smith built the structure, did he sell it back to Flagler?
@@chikiML, I believe he did sell it back to Flagler.

Me and my husband got drunk and late at night snuck down to the alligator moat and we're running around with our Chihuahua. Best vacation ever!
I drank from the fountain of youth in 1974. I'm still alive. Lol, my father did too and lived to 90.
I drank and it tastes horrible
😂😂😂😂
That is definitely on my to do list when we visit next week!
