- In this quick Photoshop tutorial, you'll learn how to convert images of any variety into something that looks straight out of an old-school videogame! There's a right way and a not-so-right way. I'll show you both, and explain why one way is better than the other.
Intro: 0:01
The not-so-right way: 1:12
The right way: 3:00
One quick edit: If you want a more simplified final result, it may be worth running your image through the Cutout filter and adjusting the parameters to your liking prior to doing any pixelization.

how this treatment will succeed with a full background for game dev use ?
Awesome! you know by any chance if theres a way to do this in bulk, i have like 500 frames of animation that i'd want to turn into 8-bit :)
Off the top of my head, you could probably create a Photoshop Action that goes through the batch of images once you've dialed in your settings. There are a few ways to automate batch edits in PS. To be honest, I'm not a heavy action user, so that goes beyond my skill-set... but I'm sure RUclips has the answer on how to set that up.
@@shinobipixel Thanks i'll try to setup an action and see if it works out 👍
EDIT: It worked! :)
Lesssss go 100 subs
which version of adobe is this?
Boom! Learning how to manage semi-transparent pixels was my key take away here. I am going to pixelize another image when I can sit down for moment! Yikes!

This is just too awesome dude!!!!
Thank you!
I really like the introduction part, is it 3D rendered or just a stock?
And you are great Photoshop teacher... I tried doing a tutorial and it was shit.
Thanks! At work I've been teaching people how to use basic functions in Photoshop. So I've been learning how to explain and demonstrate to an audience that may not have much experience.
That intro started as a Photoshop comp, but I brought it into After Effects and brought it to life a bit.
@@shinobipixel Thanks for the info!
