Is it strange that FYF and Learn your land never seem to get to enjoy porcini mushrooms?
It's too bad, considering how much time you spend in the woods, that you never find them to make a video with. I heard that the Porcini is a delicious mushroom, and even heard rumors that it can be found in Michigan.
Personally, I have brought home baskets full of mushrooms that look and taste exactly like porcini, but they turned out to be some other mushroom whose name escapes me. As does the location I found them at, strangely enough..
    :D

That wasn't a criticism by the way. It will be interesting to see your video, and I'm looking forward to it!
By the way... is an early spring in the books? A few spring rains and we might be looking at Morel season starting in March??@@FoundYouForaging

we have hundreds of Boletes that grow on our property in central michigan that are about the size and color of a McDonald pancake on top. On the bottom they are yellow and have porous spongelike wholes on the bottom end. They look lovely, but I'm afraid to eat them.

Join Indiana mushrooms on face book . At the top of their page they list several scheduled mushroom walks , foreys and mychoblitz to help with sequencing. Stephen Russel oversees a large portion of indianas Inat . I go to southern Indiana once a year at no scheduled date but enjoy Brown county and Yellowwood state parks . The next Dawn and I visit we will reach out and see if your schedule allows a nature hike
