Ha! I'm 49 and just got my first game ever, F1 2017. Today I ust completed the Bahrain round of my first career season, came 8th in a Force India, that Bahrain corner drove me mad, so happy to see you identify it as the most annoying in F1, I had a good laugh...
Really good video for new players, what i did on the old F1 games was just play with the driving line on various maps and kinda memorize where the red parts were, this put me in situations for different types of corners to get used to it
Im playing with a Steam controller and I'm having a hard time not locking my wheels in tight corners since I can't seem to find the middle ground between 100% brakes and 50% brakes.
As a beginner with F1 2018, this kind of info is invaluable. I'm scrutinizing every aspect of my driving as I learn and find with every lap that being smooth is the key to being fast. Thanks.
Do you have a suggestion on how you downshift? I always have problem braking down to the proper gear just before the apex, resulting in weirdly high RPM.
Delay the first downshift a tiny bit. Make the rest of the downshifts in quick succession. Ideally with practice you should know the gear that you're hitting the apex on. This way if you have slowed sufficiently you shouldn't experience over revs. Another idea is delaying the last downshift and making it exactly when you are turning in. This helps to rotate the car.
mate i always lockup when i full brake, seems impossible without ABS... what am i doing wrong? also can you help me with FFB settings for the wheel? first time using one(Logitech G29),which wheel weight and steering lock? any saturation, linearity on the throttle/brakes?
is it your front wheels locking up? if so you can try moving the brake bias backwards. this will shift more of the load onto the back wheels, and decrease the chance that your front wheels will lock up. Also with open wheel cars its not a case of brake on, brake off. you kinda need to use less brake the slower you get, so hit the brake and then when getting close to corner speed slowly lift your foot of the brake. hope this helps :)
Forza driver here so excuse the noob question, but in f1 should i brake then lift off and steer, or can i brake, and continuing to brake while steering? All assists off btw
Im used on predictable braking, and when i turned them off.. i always run onto a wall Ayrton Senna style (not to be disrespectful for the legend, just a reference).. and get "Stewards are not happy with your behavior, you just got a black and white flag" message from the robotic fuck of a radio (im playing on F1 2011 on a PS Vita)

Very nice video mate, perfectly explained without any unnecessary bulls***. Make more of these please 👍👍👍
Xracer 599 Thanks man. I will do in the future!
Really nice work, helped me to realize, that my biggest issue is beeing too fast on the throttle after the steering.
Been sim racing 3 months now and I find braking an F1 is mere impossible for me!! I cnt even finish 3laps!
This Is the perfect Video, Thanks Man!!
This guy is amazing very clear of what he's saying
Thank you very much. :)
Yeah it's not like playing Gran Turismo
I usually coast to fullbrake in Bahrain, works for me most of the time
just got a wheel yesterday this video has helped me out with being as efficient as possible thanks for this.
Great video and you explain verbally and visually what is necessary really well.
And im over here using a keyboard.pray for me to get a wheel
#prayforrandom113 I feel you man when I got my wheel I was so so happy still it is mounted on a 15$ IKEA balcony table but still I have fun
@@Cake_Doge search "playseat", good and cheap
My suggestion to help racers learn is to have a camera showing the pedals during the turns.

wow man, made my life...
nice one, subscribed...keep'em comin...

Im new too :D playing with wheel?
@@janolas5945 Not yet. Controller.
Thanks bro, I was struggling with No ABS braking

Downshift as you break and rev match “heal toe”

Nice video. But in some cases the way u downshift the gear will surely damage the gearbox
nice tutorial thanks to you iam beginner in this game and this video help me as lot

TheCvac break hard and the slowly realse the break.

TheCvac you gotta brake straight and then stop pushing the brake and take the corner.
try brake bias at 52 or 54 thats what league players use quite a lot
Thanks
Kevin De Bruyne No problem.
Add your break bias and stuff plz
Thanks it really helps
this video did help me. thank you!
Same tactics for that hairpin in China?
Very helpful, Thx a lot!!
Forza driver here so excuse the noob question, but in f1 should i brake then lift off and steer, or can i brake, and continuing to brake while steering? All assists off btw
if you brake and continue steering you will lock up and end up going forward instead of turning
i dont understand, brake later?
That Bahrain corner thats why i hate bahrain love vid Keep it up :P
@1:27 you mean understeer not oversteer right...
No nigga u wrong
Nice video man, when i take a corner do i have to full break or half or ...?
Maybe do like a perfect pit stop lesson.Like when to pit and good exits etc.Good job man.New Subscriber for you.
Thanks bro helped a lot ❤️
Appreciate the vid, thanks
does gentle throttle works on keyboards??
Unfortunately, it is impossible. The only thing you can do, throttle up after you fully exit the turn.
what if you apply the throttle in a senna way
when youre comming out of a corner
Hiedl Andre could you elaborate?
Chicane? I think you mean curb/kerb
The chicane is the white-red obstacle for racers to mod their speeds.
Turns 10 and 9 in Bahrain are just nightmare for me especially with a pad god damn
Same here. Just impossible. Out of a hundred attempts I get them right once.
Sebastian Al Hares I know the feeling dude,I lock up every single time like it's so frustrating.I never turn ABS on though
i dont know why but i find it easier to do on pad than wheel D:
Im used on predictable braking, and when i turned them off.. i always run onto a wall Ayrton Senna style (not to be disrespectful for the legend, just a reference).. and get "Stewards are not happy with your behavior, you just got a black and white flag" message from the robotic fuck of a radio (im playing on F1 2011 on a PS Vita)
I hate how you call them chicanes instead of kerbs...
Ah ok. I really don't give a shit.
@@JevanSangha Wow that answer was kinda harsh
Yeah it's not like playing Gran Turismo
Can I be this good with a controller?
Well I personally believe the wheel is faster than the pad, but give it enough practice, and who knows?
My life is so unfair I always understeer :(
Your life is too unfair that you cant even think of a new name for your account
Nice anti lock brakes
Montagne : I use no assists, mate
if was motogp bike in bahrain of course it will be really better!
VaselzGr can’t take turn 10/11 they would all stall
He called a kerb a chicane...
Its called a curb not a chicane
