Those who've never played Dynasty Warriors 3 don't know just how hard Dynasty Warriors used to be. Sub officers are literal HP sponges that block constantly and if you waste too much time trying to kill one, your units will be routed one by one bringing down your overall morale.
DW 2 and 3 were both tough. Especially on the hard/very hard difficulties. Even the Sergeants, Guards, and Guard Captains were a threat. Go too deep into a cluster of enemies and the game could end quick. But that also made it more realistic compared to future titles.
dw3 is the only dynasty warriors I will play, the most legendary and challenging games for playstation were made on ps1 and ps2, after ps3 it just wasn't the same LUBU would 1 or 2 shot you ETC lmao
There's definitely something fucky going on here. I swore I saw a message about Guan Yu getting beaten off-screen too, but then we see him later in the video fighting just fine, even finishes off one of the officers Xaldin was fighting.
Because this isn't the standard story mode of Hu Lao Gate, it the Xtreme Legends version. That's why Yuan Shao's dialogue is different. It's been a while since I played it, but Xtreme Legends had challenge modes for stages if I remember correctly. And officers would respawn after a time. Also, that's why at the end of the level, those leaderboard statistics show up.
How do you deal so much damage to peons in very hard mode? I remember playing this game and the damage output was generally very low in that difficulty
@@ChrisPTY507 I remember the private ranks being relatively weak even in Very Hard. But anyone above them were tough as nails unless you got the morale of their commander down
Best advice grind yellow turban rebellion and make sure to secure all gates for the defense +1s so you have more survivability then grind this stage on normal and you should already know Do not pursue lu bu 😅 Take out any other officers except diao Chan cause that gets you targeted by lu bu and you'll get a few items per run if you take out most officers and if you don't get items you get attack and defense boosts which definitely helps within a few runs you should have a base to start musou mode w. Good luck!
if you are playing XL with the origional loaded i suggest playing with lubu till you have some decent items. once you got some decent boosting items equiped leveling other characters would not be that hard.

More than likely the 5th weapon and upgraded items.

You kinda have to grind it out. This game is very challenging on normal difficulty with weak characters and no item.

Why are the starting positions different?
In Dynasty Warriors 2 Characters all had Different Start Positions( If you have ar Even Generic Officers all have Different Start Positions)
