✦ EDIT: Sorry guys, I had to delete the audio because of copyright reasons, you can check the original in the link above!
Today I bring you the animatic version of the german novel "The Sorrows of Young Werther"!
I did this for an exposition of Literature in my school, and I can say that I have a great time (tho camtasia cs9 didn't help much but y'know)
Now, for the ones that didn't read it:
Werther is a young man that decides to avoid his city life and goes to the countryside, to a town called Walheim to feel more in touch with nature. There, she meets and falls totally in love with Charlotte, a kind and sweet girl who is already engaged to Albert, a sensible man.
After a few disputes with Albert, Werther returns to his old life, but now he feels more miserable and empty than ever without his Lotte. He returns to Walheim, but after a few events and understanding that he will never be able to be with Charlotte, he commits suicide in order to finish with his sorrow.
    - Werther loves nature, but when he falls in love with Lotte, she is the one that controls his perception of nature unintentionally.
    - Through all the novel, seasons move along with Werther feelings: our protagonist is delighted in spring and desolated in winter
    - Roses represent Werther happiness, and they rot with the passes of events, tied to his desperate feelings.
    - He appears writing because is an epistolary novel, we know what is happening thanks to the letters that Werther sends to his friend Willhem.
    Enjoy!

Great animated short, the Sorrows of Young Werther is one of my favorite books, mainly because I was like Werther one point in my life. Werther was a young ambitious man, with great expectations and a passion for life, but unfortunately that all changed when he fell in love with a woman; who would never requite his feelings.
Like Werther I fell in love with a woman who I knew had a boyfriend, but didn't stop a dreamy person like me growing feelings for her and becoming romantically fixated on her.
Luckily I did not attempt suicide as I'm half living my dream, but I'm still trying to get over that dilemma.

Lotte is also a metaphor for all of werther's values, dreams and the way he wants to live his life, but he can't in this world (same as he can't have lotte). It's tragic. It's devastatingly beautiful and I love it.

This is so beautiful. I read this book in class last year and I can't really get over it and over this animatic, I come back to it every once in a while and am just amazed by the tragic beauty of Goethe's novel, that deep connection that Werther had to nature and how much his perception of the world changed when he started to suffer. He was such a gentle soul, and his words are so poetic and lovely in every way. I'm amazed at how well you managed to show every aspect of that in this video, how well the music fits the entire atmosphere. Every time I come back, I seem to notice something new and it is just incredibly moving to me. Thank you for sharing your art with us!

i just finished reading this book and i'm deeply in love with your video!!
i mean you can really feel the way werther was a romantic and cheerful guy when he first met charlotte, always talking about how beautiful nature were and how he saw love in "meaningless" people and things
and then to lose all this vibe and became morbid and constantly anxious for charlotte's love
    until the end...
anyWays loved it!!! especially the roses
