  • The TENSOR FASCIA LATAE muscle in 3D:)
    👉 It's located at the anterolateral part of the thigh.
    👉 It belongs to the muscles of the gluteal region (gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and gluteus minimus).
    👉 It connects to the outer lip of the anterior iliac crest, anterior superior iliac spine, and the lateral condyle of the tibia through the iliotibial tract.
    👉 It's in charge of hip internal rotation, and also assists in hip abduction and flexion.
    👉 When the thigh is fixed it's responsible for anterior pelvic tilt, and in unilateral contraction - lateral pelvic tilt.

    So what does it mean when tension is held in this muscle? I can tell it's related to tension in the adductors as week, but where is it originating

      ive heard it compensates for not just adductors but also glute medius and rectus femoris. it is in a position where it can easily start to pick up slack for weak and lazy muscles.
