A spiritual successor doesn't need to play EXACTLY like the predecessor, it can have its own style and still remind you of Sekiro. For eg: Callisto protocol is a spiritual successor of Dead space, Atomic Heart is to Bioshock, The Finals is to Battlefield

No bro basically use the combo to time the lazer, which is what he does in previous Erlang Shen video. But the fact that the timing is just right at the end of the combo show that the dev has done this too.

Bro basically got hit so much that he learn to efficiently attack and resolute strike too. But the timing for this is so perfect that I believe is also intended by the dev to complete two combo before Erlang attacks.
This was the most beautiful Erlang fight that I witnessed. You make the show out of these boss fights. And obligatory "lore accurate wukong" fight right here.

Yo! 3:33 - I would have never thought to initiate a combo to trigger a resolute strike as a dodge. Not only do you get to counter the hit and not take damage but you can immediately follow with a heavy, so they get punished twice. That was clean. I had to watch it several times.

This one is just full mastery of the perfect dodge’s, punishing when the time is right, parrying projectiles, etc
Honestly this guy was kinda a pain and even harder than the final boss imo but it was mostly because of his posture/shield and I found the best way for that was the fan and not doing any elemental dmg to him but this was a fun fight especially what happens after you beat him. Anyways nice to see you beating him you're doing way better than me I would've got hit a couple times.
According to the lore, this Er Lang and original Wukong are somewhat on the same power scale. That's why he is more powerful than the final boss, which is just Wukong's broken shell testing the Destined one

I really wish we could replay this boss fight! Its so good, but we can't. I honestly thought the giant arena outside the secret temple was going to be a place where we can have a friendly spar with Erlang whenever but there's nothing there. Its just empty for some reason.
This is exactly how you should play such an amazing game to understand and bring out the most of the wokung abilities with perfecting all his styles and uses of staffs
I love this fight, I think this is the best fight I've played in a game. If this game is a lot more unforgiving, i.e. Erlang hits a lot harder, he might be the hardest boss I've faced, including ones from Elden Ring
I know he didn't use it here, but a neat tip for anyone struggling with Erlang. The Plantain Fan can be used to stunlock him and fully drain his shield every time it's up! Makes that bit easier.
I hope they add an option to replay bosses at some point solely because of this boss. This fight was very frustrating the first go around, but it becomes so satisfying once you really understand the combat mechanics. It's the ultimate test of your knowledge of the game, and you've clearly mastered it. Well done.
Shen hearing this absolute madlad of a monkey "hyah"ing his way up the stairs for the 2nd time has to be utterly terrifying.
Most other deity would be terrified of Wu Kong/ Destined One, but not Er Lang, he's looking forward to a good fight.

When in thrust stance pressing heavy attack in light combo makes the player move back and if timed right can give invincibility frames.
That's the thrust stance retreat but you also can use non void spirit to perform such dodge to have that spirit complete the fox quest line in chpt 3
It was the thrust stance move, which is the upgrade after whirling thrusts
