Just ordered these and sought out the nesting boxes as well. I originally built my first hutch, but built it a little smaller than I would have liked to (poor planning on my end) and my trio need some more space. This was evident when one of my first time moms crushed her babies this evening. :( I thought about building another one larger (as I am a carpenter), but with the cost of building materials as high as they are right now, the price of these became more justifiable - especially since I wont have to spend much time on them. So it is a win-win for me! Thanks for the video!
Thank you for your video! YES, it is very helpful to see these in use as well. For some reason, I thought I had to get a 24” high cage. I will be following the same structure with 1 buck and 2 does, in 36x30” cages, although I will hang the cages horizontally inside a chicken run. Great tips on the nest boxes and the hay feeder, I appreciate your opinions.
I spot clean weekly, then every 6 months or so, I remove the rabbits, then I burn all the hair off with a torch and clean with a scrub brush and bleach water. Let dry in the sun. Then put rabbits back in.
This is exactly the system we’re wanting to do. Love your set up. We have a lot to learn. Once the kits are old enough, what do you do with the ones you’re not going to harvest. Do you have to add additional cages?
Hello! I love them. Only negative is with the larger breeds, they can pop the lid off. They usually don't on purpose but can if the get jumpy..I use a bungee cord and wrap it from under to over the top to keep that from happening. I bought clips to weld on, but haven't yet. Farm life and business keeps me busy lol Super easy to clean!

Great! Glad it helped! And yes, the price of wood is insane. And I have to build a barn this year :/
I am considering getting cages from KW and this is IMMENSELY helpful, thank you so much!
You're welcome 😊
One thing I will update is that they do not offer poly trays for the 30 x 36 at this time. Total bummer but maybe they will at some point.
@@shadyacrehomestead4737 thanks! Also, what size of j feeder are these in the video?
@@genghiskuhn They are the 5.5 inch 40 oz

Yw! I too, wish I could hang horizontally as it can be a challenge to reach the back of the top cage. I may do this eventually!
Very nice video!

Thank you for such an informative note. 👏

Thanks! We harvest all babies. If I was to keep one, I'd add another cage. Hope that helps!
How easy are these to clean? I love how clean and tidy your cages are, how often do you need to scrub these down?
Hello. Now that you are a year in... How do you like the Pointer Hill hanging nest box? How easy are they to clean? Pros? Cons?

@@shadyacrehomestead4737 What cage size are these? Are they stackable?
@@rosieromero9016 HI Rosie! They are 36 x 30 x 18 cages. You can stack 3 high. Works for me since I am tall. If you aren't, two may be better.
Jumping in late here, hope you see this. Where did you get the hay feeders from? Thanks for the video. I have my cages on the way! :D
Hello! I got them from KW as well. They are called hay racks. They are awesome! You'll love your cages, I do!
@@shadyacrehomestead4737 Thank you!
Nice video, do you tan the pelts? Or know the going rate to have them tanned professionally?
No, not yet for the pelts, and I have no idea what the cost would be. I just got some Rex so I may look into it though!
What do you put in yhe trays to soak up pee
