A nice video as ever, it is interesting to see at close quarters the crew handling the mooring lines. I'm curious to know what the two semi circles in the middle of the lock walls are for.
I guess you are referring to the two recesses where once lock gates were. In the days of barges locking through, they didn't need the whole length of the lock.
Thank you once again for a lovely video. I am watching from Southern Ontario Canada where unusually thick ice is playing havoc with the remaining few Great lakes freighters still trying to ply their trade. Nice to see the gentler climate of the UK in which I grew up.
Thanks John. I watched a RUclips film yesterday showing a Great Lake freighter stuck in the ice. Actually, although I watched on RUclips it was taken from a national news channel.
Another calm 17 minutes. Thanks Chris. I don't remember ever seeing a ship this clean, bright and new looking. You've either got the build date wrong, or she's on her first voyage after a re-fit. Once again, well done on your selection of gentle relaxing music.
Love your videos.Being Dutch, may I suggest to improve pronounciation of the word "Eems" . In English the letter A has the same "voice" as the double Ee. By the way: Eems is a river in The Netherlands.
Many thanks for your tip. I am afraid I am broad Gloucestershire with my accent, thus find it difficult pronouncing foreign words!! People from London will call me a country bumpkin .....
Very touching and nostalgic indeed especially the background music resembles WW2 movies. Love it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

@@ChrisWitts Thank you.
Loved this film as ever
Many thanks Paul. I don't want to become too repetitive thus thinking of ways to change things.

Many thanks, I reckon she hasn't long come out of a shipyard having undergone a repaint. Looks too good to be true!
Another enjoyable video Chris with some super music. Very good indeed.
Many thanks Rob.
Thanks Chris.🇳🇱
My pleasure
Amasus do keep their vessels looking good!
Hi Nick, they most certainly do, I never tire of seeing their ships at Sharpness.
Just wondering why all the incoming vessels approach the entrance from around the upper pier and not just sail straight in ?

@ Hey Chris. Don't undersell us country bumkins. I am a Wiltshire moonraker - not so green as cabbage looking.🤣
@@66moonraker I was live on a London radio station a few years ago, I was signed off as the country bumkin from Gloucester. Proud of it
