It irritates me that in Pedal demo videos all you get is some person soloing and absolutely no chording. Not a good way to get a representation of a pedals tone. Try it yourself.
I just got one for Christmas. I plug it in the amp and all it does is act like a volume pedal and nothing else. It doesn’t sound like it does on this video. Any guess what could be wrong with it? Also, I don’t have an adapter on it, could that be the problem? Cheers!

Good pedal, but sounds a little bit like in a "box". You have to push tone control really high to avoid "boxy" sounding pedal.

I doubt that's the problem. Maybe drive part of the circuit is busted somehow.
