The Prometheans solely exist because of the Flood - the two are connected more than Peanut Butter and Jelly. But, why were they created, and why were they so useful against the Flood? Today we take a look at those very questions!

I still don't understand why there are so many Prometheans now when prior to Halo 4, no one has ever seen them. Were there millions of them lying dormant on Requiem and because the Shield World was "activated" the Prometheans were freed? Were they dormant and just lying around the galaxy and no one noticed? Was their return prompted by Cortana's meddling in the Domain? I don't get how they have fleets of ships, combat units and massive numbers on colonies like Meridian when they weren't there prior to awakening the Ur Didact or during the Human-Covenant War.
There was no war; so the Promethean had nothing to fight against. Even in halo 4, you didn't see the Promethean when you were on the surface of requiem. You had to go inside the planet to see them. Same with centennials. You don't see them wondering about on the halo ring. You had to go to specific forerunner facilities to see them, like in the control center.
In Halo 4, Didact is able to compose an entire human city, i believe many of the prometheans there were composed humans from that city(the knights at least, the soldiers are just regular ai, so they are just built in masses).
The prometheans were there by orders of the librarian to keep anyone from awaking the didact
Last time I was this early to a video I only had 2 sticks and a rock for a whole platoon, and we had to share the rock.

Well remember, this was when 5 composers crashed right into him. He may be immune to the standard composition process, but 5 composers overlapping each other, maybe not so much. I think Brian Reed also said the Ur-Didact was in fact NOT composed, but that explosion did "something" to him. Masterchief himself says the Ur-Didact is most likely just contained, and not actually killed.
You trust Brian reeds' word on something, do you hear your self talking, the man that singlehandedly ruined halos story in a four hour campaign that could put you to sleep faster than a master class in calculus

It's not so much trust as the fact that Brian Reed was in charge of canon material at the time. Whether what he did is good or not is debatable (technically. Most of us agree H5's campaign was trash, myself being one of them), but he did do them, and they are cannon.
Frankly, in this case what he did was awesome. He shouldn't have ended the Didact's arc in a comic, and thankfully, this little "maybe" allows for the Didact to return, should 343 wish to.
If not THE Ur-Didact, an Echo or a digital Wraith acting as a virus within the Mantel.
Holy shit. Did he actually say that? If the Didact's alive and all 5 composers did 'something' to him perhaps they are hinting at him being cured of the logic plague.
I’d love to see the Ur-Didact return and become a good guy, that’d be awesome. The Ur-Didact would probably be a BAMF against the enemies, and having prometheans on our Side would be a huge fucking relief. I like having my testicles, and not having knights surgically remove them would be great.
Do you have any idea how angry I am that we never got to see Promethians fighting Flood? It seems like at least the Halo 4 variants would have been very effective. The Halo 5 variants are clearly re-outfitted to fight humans and ex-Covenant, though

Halo 5 Prometheans are all purpose, still extremely effective against the Flood but now are more able to take on stronger foes.

+Daniel Bob, lol the needler in halo combat evolved tracks and it is pretty good.
Carbine killed the ranged infection forms as well as the needler, carbine or the spiker are better options imo.

In my mind, the Didact was super-composed. The raw energy from multiple exploding composers is too much for any living being, even one as resilient as the Didact.

Honestly, I love fighting the Halo 5 Promethean Knights, but quite literally every other Promethean is either boring or annoying to fight. Hopefully Halo 6 keeps the fun H5 Knights.
Prometheans should be way more powerful, use better tactics and be more intelligent on the battlefield. The ones portrayed here seems very weak.
Get rid of the crawlers.
Reduce Watcher movement ,let them be headshot kill, throwable grenades and they can teleport.Also they should fly into you and explode after their allies are killed(but an equal chance is that they fly towards their next allies).
The Knights should stay the same.(Maybe add to them like brutes from H2 to h3).And get rid of their ability to teleport(Maybe give them a shield).
Finally the soldiers,have them drop in either via a dropship or phaeton that they themselves build,get rid of the sniper variant and their ability to teleport and give them more power weapons with predictable movements.
The turrets ,you could turn them against their allies for 10-40 seconds before exploding.
The Phaetons missiles must be replaced for a massive binary lazer and Scattershot turret and get rid of the teleport technique,instead perhaps implement a timed hardlight shield and reduce speed.
Sentinels need to return,the prometheans are boring, also the storm faction must take a back seat and instead should be a rarity not every time you see them.
The old forerunner art style must make up 80% of the forerunner art, but Id be happy to see the new stuff from time tk time.
I havent come up with a new variant for the crawler yet.

Wasn't the point of Prometheans to immune to logic plague and infection. They're the perfect warriors against the Flood.
Could the creation of the composer be part of logic corruption inflected on the Ur-Didact by the Gravemind? The Flood believes in peace through unification, and the composer could be another tool for forcibly unifying life? E.g. if the flood was destroyed, and Gravemind’s conscious entered the domain, it could then use composers to create an army, and unify the sentient species.
The Chief, Arbiter and The didact with Promethean Knights fighting on your side would be awesome and badass still watching the Knights disintigrate flood like it's nothing and give the player a glimpse how they fight

The prometheans have the coolest look in my opinion, as orange is my favorite having the white and orange colors combined with both hard angles and sleek looks make them rad to me. I'd love to have a full suit of promethean based armor in a medieval knight look.

While playing Halo 4 on legendary just to get Chief's armor was... MADDENING, looking back at it, the difficulty of fighting the prometheans just proves that they were designed to fight something much more, perilous, like a flood outbreak. This explains the short range teleportation, flight, and their brutal melee (personal experience; prometheans punch HARD)
What I want to know if the ancient humans and prometheans that were composed knew they were composed like when they fight you do they know they are or did they lose their mind and are just like a brain?
I think they mention early testing of composing causes the patients to lose their minds. So it would compose their memories and turn them mechanical, but leaves the composed being mindless.

I actually loved fighting Promethean Knights.
This makes you wonder how Spartans are able to compete with prometheans. If they could previously warp their perception during combat. It’s not hard to believe they could do it after being composed.
I would love a Forerunner Floor War Two (FFWII?) if we ever get one. Only exception would be to just remove Watchers entirely. We have Sentinels, just have one of those pop out of a Knight.

A Dragon Boi 10125 that would be ridiculously overpowered, you can't kill something that just shoots you point blank, then warps to a sniping position, hits you with that, then warps into an artillery position and just pounds you with explosives. That is possibly the stupidest idea for prometheans.

I love this channel, I was always a huge Halo fan but never did I expect to find a channel that would educate me so much more on the lore, I now have a greater appreciation for the Halo franchise but not just as a game but as a story.
Captain Price was originally the one in charge of the Promethean army but had received orders that requested his aid somewhere else so he put his second in command to lead the Prometheans while he was away and that man was Commander Shep--- I mean the Didact

Feel like I have to mention this, but proof of Armigers is actually had in the books! Armigers are present throughout most of 'Hunters in the Dark' as servants of 000 Eternal Solitude. They use sort of lightrifle-like guns and are vicious in melee combat, according to the book.

The Ur-Didact entered a Cryptum after the human-Forerunner war and was awoken from his Cryptum **before** the Forerunner-Flood war. However, he was placed in a Stasis bubble and left in a flood overrun system where he would eventually reawaken from several centuries later. Some of your lore is wrong, but the bit about the Prometheans is correct.
I've have been doing some research into Halo lore recently as a double up of preparing for Halo: Infinite and something I've just felt an urge for. One thing that doesn't actually have a lot of information on is the Battle of Tribute, which was a planet in the same system as Reach. The little I now know about it was actually quite interesting and lead to a tiny personal project I'm working on.
May or may not make it so others can view it. I'm extremely self conscious about stuff like that.

Id like the didact,arbiter and chief to see another gravemind like halo 2 when arbi and chief where saved by the gravemind but then later the gravemind turns against you which follows with a huge flood outbreak and the fight to survive begins
And the irony is Cortana's logic plate may lead to the Promeathens defending the Flood, teaming up against all non-flood races. ;)

I loved fighting the promethians. Between the Crawlers, and teleporting Knights it kept things interesting. The Knights look kind of weird, but when they reveal their human/energy like skull it fuckin badass.

In regards to the Didact being composed, I have a theory that he allowed himself to be composed so that he can search through the domain for specific Forerunner weapons and artifacts to use, as it can be assumed that he (correctly) thought the flood were still around on account of him being locked in the cryptum and having no sense for the passage of time, and that he found and activated at least one such artifact, being the war sphinx we see in Halo 5s trailer. And on that note I personally believe that Halo 5s trailers were actually teasing potential elements of Halo 6.
I loved fighting the Prometheans in halo 4 and in halo 5. I take every Halo game as it's own adaptation of a chapter in Halo. I don't see an issue with the games I LOVE 1 through 5.
I thought the forerunner-flood war ended with one of the halo arrays, installation 00 I think, being activated and the system being purged of life and neural physics-based architecture. (all forerunner tech, buildings, star roads and even "the domain")
I love the Prometheans so much. Fighting and this video like them more as well as the flood. I mean the best veteran had to make something specifically for the flood as well as fighting everything else. But one thing I can't figure out about them. What ARE they? Living AI or an AI in a metal suit as if Cortana were operating a Spartan suit? I know at the start you said they are AI in a metal body but... When they teleport the whole shell goes too not just the orange glow. And since they're A.I can they hop in and out of computers?
im kinda thinking that chief is going to go to a facility on the halo with the flood in, accidentally release them, try to bring the diadact back to make a temporary alliance to eliminate the flood once and for all, them start fighting the promethians only to realize some flood forms escaped, and started infecting the things around the halo

Imagine Halo 6 and the possibilities. The Return of the Flood? Seeing the Prometheans attack their intended targets, maybe bring the flamethrower back.
Maybe the reason he was composed is 1 he could handle but he was composed by 5? That's like an overdose which I don't think he thought he would be composed by that many composers.
I predict in the future The Banished and Prometheans will cross paths, and possibly form an alliance.

Don't forget about Atriox either, although from last I checked he's about a third of Tartarus's age, atriox has him completely out match and he's far more effective leader than well, his Covenant counterpart. Let's also not forget that atriox has always been in a position where he's had the Covenant on the Run if he wished to. So I can see Master Chief, arbiter, The Didact and atriox working together against the flood and any of cortana's forces that is infected with the logic plague.
