"A single operation called Clean Non-Manifold and Inverted, which should just be called Fix All My Mistakes." "Sometimes Blender has a problem with it and gives you a useless message basically reminding you that you're bad at modeling." Liked for the informative content. Subbed for the deadpan cheeky commentary. xD
Your planning and execution is surely paying off as you continue to raise the bar with your tutorials. It is not only better for those who have English as their second language but for those of us who do have English as their main language. The well designed videos are short and to the point without a second of wastage.
"...and Blender gives you a useless message, basically reminding you that you're bad at modeling." Brilliantly funny. Thanks for brightening my day. Cheers.
I was intrigued by your videos. You do quite comprehensive explanation on the tutorial from the concept, composition untill the technical stuff. Very helpful for beginners like me. Hopefully to see your video more. And hopefully i used the right words for this message. Greetings from some random country of those 70 countries that have learned from your tutorials! Thanks!
I myself love using hard ops and box cutter For UV mapping I have some addons I use. -UVPackMaster (better packing algorithm for blender, paid) -UV Squares (Paid and free version available) -MagicUV (included in blender)
Even though the show is scripted really well. And although I really like how concise and tight he does his intro's and explains his content afterwards. Curtis could look at how he filters his audio. Or try to pause between certain words or sentences. It does seem to drone on too much. I can't watch 2 or 3 of his videos in a row. A little human touch would immensely improve the way that you could view multiple video's in a row.
I wasn't sure until this video if was hearing a "text to speech program" . Now I know it was a full body robot designed to share immense amount wisdom of the 3D world.
It is nice to know that you are aware of the language barriers. But on that point, I would recommend adding a link to subtitles in the description of each video. That would make translating much easier for those who do it. Auto-translate of Google is good enough for other applications, but not technical tutorials, where missing just one step can mess up the results. I know it adds a bit of work, but it is what makes a channel truely standout and helpful not to mention.
These are some pretty neat addons. I haven't played much with anything beyond the vanilla Blender interface, so I'm eager to give these a shot. Thanks for showcasing them!
Just came across this channel Totally at random... (wasn't even searching for Blender stuff at the moment) You just earned a sub, I like the clear way you speak despite being a lifelong 'English' speaker (US :P). I come from an Anim8or background and have struggled with the more complex way of doing things in Blender.
It's just a matter of time when this guy will have a hundred thousand followers. Keep great work and stay humble. :) And can you make captions (shemes) more visible, maybe. :P
Oh my god, this is amazing! I looked into Blender years ago but ended up just forgetting about it. The videos on 2.80 brought me back and these addons all look incredible for improving workflow!
Hard ops and box cutter seem like great add ons but as blender guru said it needs to have a full beginner series that is a little bit more welcoming to newcomers, but it still looks fantastic
Really good video, I *really* appreciate the fact that you pre-script the content. As 'natural' as some other (very skilled and useful!) contributors & their tutorials may be, I find the 'uhm' 'uh' and digressions pretty distracting. Yours are super easy to follow.
Brutally efficient as always. Such a change from the hippies who advertise a tutorial in X, spend 20 minutes doing Y to set it up, and the remaining 10 minutes demonstrating they don't actually know anything about X, but think the random results they get from it by flaying around with the buttons are very cool indeed :D. With you, no fast-forward necessary.
@@CurtisHolt Oh btw, what I do for saving, is just hit Ctrl + S, S. This means almost as quick saving, but still having access to the other tools the pie provides. For instance, just can't live without the Load Most Recent (Ctrl + S, R) :)

I think when alien robotic race appears on Earth, Curtis should be chosen to make a 1-st contact with them because of his unique speech style lol Awesome add-ons review, thanks~
@Curtis Holt, great video thanks for sharing. I use Maya professionally, but I really like watching the Blender plugin videos to see how modeling is progressing. When you did the bevel for the boolean stuff was it a sub-d bevel or just a poly bevel modifier?
@@CurtisHolt does Blender work with a history stack similar to Max where you can modify things after the modifiers have been applied, do the boolean tools work with a live sub-d mesh with edge loops to create the bevels.
there are many builtin Addons in Blender that i wish they were enabled by default like Wrangler,Copy Attributes and Paint/Weight Pallete those are essential and most people don't know about them.
I remember when i knew about opensource i knew blender and stockfish, the strongest chess engine only recently beaten by AI. But still. Opensource makes software evolve in some great way if we give it time.

i like your " robotic " voice, because i can understand it veery easily (English is my third language ), also nice video, keep up the good work (y)
I like scripting robots. Because they can keep a 9 minute video from turning into a 29 minute video. :)
Wow. Considering English is your third language, it really is very good!
Tip: Make English ur first language, then u won't have so many problems
@@johngordon5495 I shouldn't have found that as funny as I did XD
