Interceptor650 Rear tyre removal (First Attempt)

- Hi guys so this is my first try/ attempt at removing the tyre and fixing a puncture at home. So try not to use harsh words(though I would not mind it).
Now the Important stuff.
1) Tools - Size 24 ring spanner, or the tool in your tool kit.
2) Screw driver or a tommy bar to pull the axel.
3) Start with removing the brake pads to make it easy.
4) There Are 2 spacers big one on Right side and small on left(Sprocket) side.
5)Loosening the chain would help in taking the chain off( Can be done without it.
sorry I couldn't cover both sides as I was working alone. This is my very first time doing such job and I learned a lot and next one would be easier.
I did fixed the puncture and made few mistakes (next video).

Is there any chance that you know of a website to source parts from I had my rear axle nut come loose and am having a difficult time sourcing the bearings that came apart

I removed the wheel ..got the puncture fixed..but struggled fix the wheel back..was not easy at all..had to keep a 2inch book below to gain some height..after pushing the rod in... I now cannot fit the break pads back. If one seems to slide in well the other gets stuck.. even if I managing to get both in . The wheel doesn't move freely. Please advice

You need to push the caliper piston back in before putting the brake pads. Wrap a cloth on a screw driver and push the piston back.
@@ijs_autoandmore no worries..so I figured my way around it..the culprit was the center rod that holds the tyre..had to push that back in place.. thanks to you I learnt this 👍

One day when I put my interceptor on centre stand to check the movement of the rear wheel , I found it was a bit heavy and needed some pressure n force to move by hand ..is it normal ?
Whereas the rear wheel of my thunderbird is not so hard .
Yes i too felt it too be little heavy/ tighter than other Motorcycles and it is normal. Just make sure chain is not too tight and both side markings on the swingarm matches for the balance. You check the chain adjustment video for same.
@@ijs_autoandmore thanks you ..one more thing ,I moved the wheel once again and I also notice that after one turn of wheel there is a slight sound at every full rotation , may be from a chain, I don't know ..is this normal. Is it the chain lock ?
@@vikasupadhyay1398 try to listen it more clearly , if it a slight grinding noise coming from rear brake side then Normal as pads runs too close to the rotor and these are sintered pads and are noiser than normal organic brake pads. The rear wheel has some amount of side to side movement which is ok and it make noise from rear pads while rotating it.
Now if it is not from the brake then then see if it is coming form front sproket near the gear lever , if this is the case then probably some gunk is collected at the front sprocket and chain cleaning and lubrication would resolve it. To check the wheel bearing noise you need to rotate the wheel without rear brake pads.

The noise comes at a certain point when full rotation of wheel is done ..Again when the rotation completes ..It is not noticeable while riding ..it is just when I move the rear wheel by hand after putting it on the centre stand..I will check for gunk but why only at certain point , I will try going to service station .

People. Say that it goes upto 70km/hr in first gear ..whereas when I am riding in First gear then at 40 km/hour I feel the need to change to 2 nd gear .although my RPM is approx 3k and i don't feel like revving hard before the first service and running in .but even at 3 k rpm at feel that it's time to shift to 2nd gear ..is it the same with you ..people on you tube said it goes upto 70 in first gear so my expectations got high . What's your thought on this ? Does it really shoot so powerfully in first gear then easily reach 70 .?
I live in hills and my house is on a very steep climb ..on an uphill road when I pushed the bike in first gear, it climber with ease .
Don't remember the first gear top speed on mine but yes i have done 100kph at speedo at second gear many times. The thing with you not wanting to cross the lower rpm band is the natural reaction when we upgrade on the engine capacity. This motor gets into first and the biggest powerband where 80 percent torque is available at a very low 2.5k rpm that is why lower gear tracktibilty is so impressive that all u need is first or second as you are saying for hills and the other good bit is the unstressed nature of engine which never feels wanting another gear even at top of the rpm range. But trust me once u hit 4.5 to 5 k rpk there is that second boost or powerband which makes it go like boom and you would love it once u explore it.
Stay around 4 to 4.5k rpm max during running in and keep varing the rpm and you will be safe no need to limit to 3k rpm.
Go in for early first service and enjoy. 50 to 70 percent throttle (rpm) is safe during running in

Surprised to see that it requires the brake pads to be removed to uninstall the rear wheel. I hope that you might have found a solution to make the tire puncture proof by this time.
Yes taking pads put makes the job a lot easier otherwise it is a struggle.
I haven't done any conversation but yeas few are using way2tubeless with good results. Way2tubeless is economic than super expensive outex.

Even if tubeless kits are installed, there is still chance of rim leak, and when it happens, one has to inflate every two or three days depending upon the magnitude of leak. Anyways, can you please share your feedback on Interceptor 650 that you own (Have you made any video on that?) and the problems that you have faced. It would be very helpful for me. I am finding many negative aspects of the vehicle in many RUclips videos that I am overwhelmed.
There is no negative thing i found which is of great worry. But unfortunately i had to sell mine in simple words i can say pandemic took it.
I bought it for long road trips which couldn't happen due to pandemic loss of business and increased family responsibilities. So it was practically lying unused for over a year found interested buyer and we closed the deal. It gives me so much pain to see it standing idle or being used for short commutes now the new owner is using it the way it should be.
I have made a specific video on why i sold it.

RE needs to look and learn as to how simple it is to remove the rear wheel from the Japanese and German manufacturers....no removing chain, brake calipers etc..
True, the tiny spacers makes the job little more hard to do.
Not the simplest thing to do. Even puncture wallas refuse (and often can't) remove the wheel. Some charge extra Rs 200 to remove the wheel.
Just do it once and it is easier the next time.

Just saying that RE could simplify the removal of the rear wheel.

Today i repaired puncture of my brand new interceptor from local shop and he took 200 rs for total labour and three persons were required to fit the wheel back into the swing arm.
No body's perfect at the first attempt next time try to see someone else doing before struggling too much it gets time consuming.... hahahahaha
