@@SigurdBraathen You have to see that the skin was 3 colours and the leather was 2 colours. You can definitely reduce these numbers but you obviously won't get this same level of quality. You can do these models in like 8 colours and maybe some contrast medium but it unfortunately is the more effort and colours you put in the better overall effect. I hope that you 2 years ago didn't just windmill buy all contrast paints 😂
Hi, @@humanname1458 ! I have 0 Citadel contrast paints. A few but not many alternatives by other brands. Your boyz looks gorgeous! I was contemplating buying the Kruleboz but never got around to it. Thus I've saved a lot of money and some space! ;)
Your video's actually gave me the final push to jump into Warhammer. Always wanted to get into the hobby, but your "easy" way of painting gives me the confidence to do it myself as well. So, keep doing what you do, love these video's. Any chance you will be doing Breaka-Boss On Mirebrute Troggoth any time ?
Hi Marko, that's awesome to hear, welcome to the best hobby there is! I've got plans to do the Breaka-Boss, it's just a case of finding the time now. I do have a video coming up on the Stormdrake Guard and I'd likely do a similar skintone for a Mirebrute Troggoth, so be sure to keep an eye out for that!
Hello its a really pleasure to look at your tutos, i juste begin an orruk army, and its just miss the Ironjaws party; it will be fine to see some tutos on this pant of the army. Thanks for your work and continue like that
Normally I don’t like the look of contrast painted miniatures. But yours look really good :) I also like that you show your technique how to paint them on camera.. Great job and will be following you :)
@@Warhipster Excellent, so will you have a tutorial for each stormhost with a vindictor? Im planning to do the Hammers of Sigmar would love to see an updated one of these.
I shall indeed! There’s two that’re incredibly similar, barring a colour change on the pauldron so I’ll likely only do one of those two but otherwise the major ones will all be covered.
Interesting! I was thinking on just doing plaguebearer flesh. How do you think a mix between plague bearer and militarum green would go? How fast is it take for you to so that squad? Been working for 1 week on a unit of wardens... Hopefully the dominion box offers some less detailed units :)!
I think that would work quite well - the Militarum Green should help take some of the yellow out of the Plaguebearer Flesh and help to make them feel ‘swampier’. This one took me a while as I was figuring out the colour scheme across the first five, though once I had it set it was pretty quick for there on in, maybe five or six hours for the last five.
Love your videos and trying out this recipe on my Gutrippaz currently, any suggestions on how to fix mistakes with the skin? I managed to get some of the leather on mine. :'(
Indeed! A little Orruk Flesh can correct any blobs or mistakes! If you thin it down a little bit more than normal it becomes a bit of a glaze and then just really enriches that skin making it pop!
A lot of the time with Contrast it comes down to how much is on your brush - you want enough that it's obviously full, but not so much that it's forming a drip, if that makes sense? This is one of the things I'm going to be tackling in an upcoming series on making the most of Contrast paints.
Hello, I dont have creed camo but have the Ork flesh contrast. Would replacing the creed camo in this tutorial with ork flesh give a similar but darker green effect?

I didn't want to sound as aggressive as this comment might seem, but contrast paints is best acquired in modest numbers =-)

I would love to see you do more Kruleboyz models! LIke the SwampCalla! Great work and amazing tutorial. I appreciate it.
Funnily enough the Swampcalla is on my painting table now!
Can’t wait to see you tackle beast snaggas sometime! Squig flesh looks good for contrast
It sure does look like it’s going to be good for it!
I won't paint these but you sir, are a genius. Amazing job 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
You’re too kind Ged, thank you!
Great job with these. Beautiful colors that still have a muted I came out of a swamp look. Great skin.
Thank you very much! Getting the vibrancy and keeping it muted was quite an interesting challenge.
Thanks for this video. It's the first one of yours I have seen and at a perfect time. I am just about to start painting my kruleboyz army
You're more than welcome Bezzy and I hope you find the videos useful!
Cant wait to crack on with this this weekend - wonderful tutorial, amazing result, stunning.
Thank you! I look forward to seeing how you get on with them in that case.

Awesome stuff! And absolutely great recipe for the ork skin!
Thank you very much! I’m really pleased with how that skin turned out.
Love your tutorials. The skin and bronze colors are perfect for somethings I'm working on
Thanks Drew! That’s really cool to hear, what are you going to be using them for?
@@Warhipster Minotaurs (space marines) and ironjawz
Oh nice!
Exactly what I was looking for, great tutorial!!
That’s ace to hear, diedrik! Thank you so much.

Thanks, I’m glad you like it!
Another great video!
Thank you Javier!

Just found your channel and you do Awesome work. My son and I will give this a try for our boyz. Got my Sub!
Thx
Thank you!
these look amazing though. I've always enjoyed the lighter tone you see in the AOS orks
I'll use this recipe for painting beast snagga skin!
That sounds great to me! I should be doing a video on some of the new Ork models and I’ll likely base the skin tone on this myself.
It's great! Looking forward to Stormcast Eternals from Dominion in Hallowed Knights colors!))
He’s done hallowed Knights! In the gardus tutorial
Thanks! I’ll be mostly doing the Dominion set as Celestial Vindicators, though I will be doing a Vindictor as each of the big Stormhosts.

as always great job!
Hi! Amazing video! How do you mix your paints? Mine mixes dry super super fast... Greetings, Dominic
Any plans to do the killaboss on great gnashtoof? I’m scared to attempt it without following your tutorial
Oh yes indeed! He's not far away now!
damn loved the video just now i have to get $300 to buy all the paints lmao
I'm finally sold on contrast paints. These look amazing!
Are there any plans to paint the Killaboss on Great Gnarltoof?
Thanks John! I'm planning on doing the whole of Dominion, so I'll be getting to him soon enough.

Do you think using wraith bone as the primer would work similarly? I think it would have slightly lighter tones overall?
Absolutely - you should find if gives you slightly warmer tones than the ones you see here.
I like them a lot I feel like I overuse too much contrast as my skin is darker and not as smooth. Any advice? Love the work by the way.
