As a GA runner myself, I was really excited to see you were at Asics! I had never ran the course myself but I can tell you from what I've heard from all of my teammates and others that this was definitely a slower year for Asics, and so I would be extremely proud of my time if I were you, especially with all factors considered. I ran 18:24 (which was a new PR) at Asics, but just yesterday PR'd 50 seconds at Coach Wood, running 17:34. That just goes to show how different variables produce different times. I wish I would have seen you at the meet man! Congrats! You're breaking 15:00 and winning your next race I'm sure!
Bro you are a goat. Keep up the good work. Your progress through high school has been crazy. You are like an idol to me. I hope I can get to where you are next year. 🔥😎🔥
bro your race was amazing you ran good dont be too hard on yourself it only makes you stronger you have a big things ahead of you i believe in you i am so glad your ok with everything at home and your team mates as well we will keep sending prays along to you and your family in this hard time and send all the angles to ride on your shoulders keep the faith and the grind stay safe
Look kid, all things considered, with this being the first time you ran that course, 2nd is a great place and your time was good. Obviously if you were to run that course again you’d run it strategically different and get under 15:00. I don’t think your strategy of being in front for the first mile was a bad one considering the mud which you were first to tread. The pack had to go through a sloppier section after all them feet disturbed the terrain. And you almost went negative split 1st and last mile. And you don’t want to peak too soon. Great race!
Hey, praying for Asheville and all affected by Helene and Milton. I hope you get water back. Congrats on your race, a second place can be discouraging but you will get the dub soon. Great work! One question, what are the nose patches for runners called and do you find that they help you?
Bro. I am about to crash out. I just had my regional qualifiers for state and I have to race Lovejoy and some other texas 5a goats. I got 21st which always makes it state in the past years and leads to a good state finish because we have the hardest region. It is top 4 teams and 10 indiviudals not on those teams make it to state. Somehow the top teams who had kids beating me, their 4th and or 5th runner had to walk to dnf so they didn’t qualify as a team. The 14th overall runner was the 10th individual. I did not make state. I have no idea what to do. I feel completly robbed . I raced my ass of too with my team having to walk or dnf as well. (The temperature was 85 degrees and sunny af)
Dude that’s so unfortunate. Sometimes crazy stuff is going to happen like that so you have to be ready for it. I can totally relate and I know it’s hard to digest.
@@AHScougars thanks for the response. It means a lot. I have only been working with my private coach for around 4 months and have seen so much progress, hopefully I can pull something crazy off in track.
Maybe switch up the stimulus. Add a different type, or more, speed workouts. Add some weightlifting or hill reps. Increase volume. Maybe just need a new pair of shoes :)
haskintakeover is spreading to more states now 😈
SHOUT OUT TO THE CAMERA MAN
Prayers for you your team and your family.

I was at that race W
Yes
Do you wear XC spike shoes, or trail shoes? I remember 12 years ago in high school, that's what everyone was wearing, and I never understood why.
Yeah I where spikes. Depending on the course but spikes give you the best energy return and traction
Hope your all well🙏🤲
Awesome video bro. What was your PR as a freshman? Im a HS freshman and trying to break 17 minutes this season
I ran 17:44 as a freshman, so that’s awesome!
@@AHScougars thanks for the swift response!
Advice for someone who is in a racing slump and not running well.
My entire sophmore year I was in a slump. You just have to keep training and work has hard as you can and trust you'll get out.
Maybe switch up the stimulus. Add a different type, or more, speed workouts. Add some weightlifting or hill reps. Increase volume. Maybe just need a new pair of shoes :)
That hurricane was tough but Michael Haskin was tougher 💪💪💪Great race and great conference dub as well. See you Saturday at regionals
