I Love your granny blanket. Granny squares are one of my favorites and I hate sewing together a bunch of squares. I am currently working on my first cotton market bag following your pattern. Thank you for the inspiration and patterns.
I’m so glad knitting was a relief for you. I’ve watched you from the early days. In fact (I’ve said this before) you taught me how to crochet. Thank you 🤩. I have never lost my crojo 😊phew 😅 ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for supporting me throughout the years. I think it is fabulous that i taught you to crochet and we have never met. The power of the internet.
😃💜 I didn’t know you knew how to knit! So awesome! Your blanket is turning out beautiful. I love the idea of using your nieces items you made her for the blanket.😃
Yes, I learnt to knit when I was young but picked it back up about 9 years ago. It is good to have another craft to do, especially when all I have to buy is the knitting needles. Already got the yarn stash etc.
That’s a lovely idea! And I love the colours your niece chose ❤ If my crojo goes, I don’t stress about it. It never lasts more than a few days. When I’m slowing down/reluctant because of what l am working on I switch to something more fun/easier. I crocheted a cat beanie for my daughter today just as a break from a jumper I’m working on 😊
Thank you! 😊I love that you make a cat beanie, oh wait a sec, is it for your daughter or your daughters cat? Either way, it's a great way to break up the boredom
I think what I do to get my crojo back is to scroll Pinterest on cool looking things that other people have made. I get inspired and it helps me get started again. Thanks for sharing your project. I'm making a Boho Samper scarf!
Hi Clare what helped me get my cojo back is crocheting with a group at my library. We make items for homeless teens. Our goal this year is crochet bags. So, I double the 4 weight yarns and use an 8mm. I crochet in the round then do mesh stitches. This is much faster. Your blanket is so pretty.
Thank you. That is such a great idea, and you get to be with people with similar interests. The bag will work up quick using the double strands too. Thank you for choosing to watch my video
Beautiful blanket. Looks like very soft yarn. Too hot in my location, west Texas, for wool. But the colors are amazing. Could it be that wool and other natural fibers are now more expensive than synthetic fibers? Yes! Please yes on tutorial video for the chicken. Thank you so much!
Love this idea. I can never get any items back to take apart to remake any thing. I do take things apart from the Goodwill store. I have taken apart blankets, sweaters, skirts.
Hi Clare. What a fantastic idea! Your niece will treasure that afghan forever! Well I lost my crojo back in the summer of 2023 when it became clear that my husband wasn’t going to survive. I was taking care of him constantly until he passed away this past March. I am trying to make a blanket for one of my grandsons. I had him pick out the colors but the struggle is so real. I don’t know if it will ever come back. Knitting too. I remember when you lost your mom and how hard it was for you. We’ve lost so many people in the last 5 years it’s been almost insurmountable. One foot in front of the other I say. I don’t see the link for your vacation. Would love to see it! ❤❤
@@CrochetwithClare I was actually able to crochet today which was awesome. That being said, if I had my mom or dad, or sister in law and brother in law , both 63 who passed away during my husband’s struggle just to talk to I think I’d have done better. Losing 10 people in a year has been gutting. But my husband as well? I will seek the help I need. And I think knitting and crochet should help, God willing.❤️💔💔❤️
theastewart6721 10! Oh hun, that is awful for you xx please talk to someone and never be to proud to talk to a professional for help. I ended up being on medication for anxity and it helps alot x
The blanket I'm making for myself has been on the hook almost 10yrs. I just get excited about making everyone else blankets that mine gets tucked away for long periods of time. I'm actually close to finishing it. I should try to get it done before this winter lol.
Clare, I love this blanket!! What a great idea to re-use yarns of things you had already made for her & love all those yarns you bought from England. I'm sure she'll cherish this blanket forever from her special Auntie. As for my crochet mojo, the longest I've gone not doing anything is couple of weeks but can understand not feeling up to it if things are going on ❤️🥰🌻
@CrochetwithClare Oh I'm so happy Clare!! That must've made your heart so happy!! Nothing like the joy one feels of appreciation of something made with so much love. Enjoy your time together & thanks for letting us know🤗❤️❤️❤️
@lizv.418 it did and she keeps playing with her blanket because it's winter here, she also keeps picking up the Crochet hook and is pretending to add more rounds 🥰
Very nice blanket. ❤ If I need to get my crojo back, I will do quick and easy projects. For instance for the last couple of weeks I've been making a bunch of hats. 🙂 I always get bored if I am making something that is taking too long and end up starting another project before I am finished, so I end up with several WIPs. Making hats is quick and I don't get bored. I don't know if I have it in me to make another full sized blanket again.
Hi Claire, the Shop is called Hobby Craft! I don't buy pure wool as I am allergic to it ,an so are my daughters an grans children.that is the only reason for me , having said that some Acrylic are quite expensive, depends on your budget.hope you had a lovely holiday here in England UK! 😊
I'm making loaf cats for my grandkids. Would love a Chicken tutorial ❤ When I lose my crojo l make something easy that has colors I love and makes me smile, usually a bag of some kind or an amigurumi.
I'm working on a blanket for December it's warm here most of the time but when it gets cold it's like blankets warm clothes warm shower , it's Summer in USA right now n we live in the desert so it's hot here right now but in December cold. Your blanket is pretty :) like it🎉 CS
Yes, we have Hobbycraft in Scotland too 😛 I think in the UK (not “England” 😂) we think of wool as expensive and harder to care for. I’m interested to hear that’s not how it’s thought of elsewhere! So in Australia you tend to prefer pure wool?
Good to know! If I am making something for myself for winter, I prefer pure wool because it keeps me warmer, but I understand that pure wool isn't everyone's cup of tea or in their budget. Australia also has hot parts and I would say that cotton would be their go to.
