Lip Filler and "Botox"...

  • While I don’t owe anyone an explanation of why I do the things that I do, I do feel like it’s my responsibility to be as transparent as possible as a person who shares their life and recommends things on the internet for people to buy. I also feel like it’s ok for me to defend myself when being attacked by unfair assumptions, and hopefully while doing so I can show another side to why someone may or may not choose cosmetic injections. While my main reasoning for getting them is not for aesthetic or “beauty” purposes, I do not see anything wrong with people who do use them for those purposes if they are doing it safely. Please remember that these are only my experiences and to always seek professional medical advice and care from a licensed medical professional.
I was not asked to speak about or paid to promote @peko_md in this video, and all wrinkle relaxers and lip filler were paid for by myself. I was gifted laser hair removal for their training purposes.

I understand that brow furrowing muscle tension! I learned I chronically tighten the corrugator supercilii. Now I massage it periodically with the second knuckles of my index fingers and notice a huge difference in my tension and how my face looks.

I would do that a TON before I started getting botox and thankfully now I am way more relaxed. Driving was the worst or watching movies and working on my computer!

I’ve been suffering from migraines since I was in middle school and have seen many Neurologists, taken medications and nothing have worked. It’s very debilitating and kept me from living my life. I’ve done the whole frowning thing you did and my mom would do the same lol I’ve seen commercials on Botox for migraines but didn’t give it much thought until this video. Thanks for being transparent ❤

I'm so sorry to hear that you suffer from them as well. It's not been a complete all for me, but I will say I have YET to have a migraine as severe as my ones before. Horomones and the weather still play a part, but I can plan for those which are nice. My son I think has inherited mine which makes me really sad, but hopefully more research and studies will come out to better pinpoint what causes them and how to fix them as he ages.

It’s interesting hearing the different uses for botox. Especially, when injected in specific areas.Thank you for sharing!
Also, I remember watching a video you made years ago about how you constantly have to raise your brows to hold you eyelids up… how it effects your muscles & such. I was watching, thinking “man that must feel really terrible! She’s got to have so many tension headaches!”
I was literally rubbing my sore eyebrows thinking that. 😆 Then I realized I couldn’t relax mine. 🤦🏻‍♀️
I don’t have hooded lids, but I naturally have more of a scowling expression. I furrow my brows A LOT too. I got really tired of always being asked why I was mad or upset- when I was actually listening intently or thinking. So, I started raising my brows/forehead constantly to make me appear “nicer” & “more engaged”. Well, it worked. I stoped being told I looked mad, but started holding a lot of tension in my brows to the point that they don’t ever fully relax- even in my sleep. 😏

It’s something we don’t think about when we are doing it so we don’t realize that it’s causing issues!

I would really push for insurance to cover some of it. Especially if you're suffering from migraines.

I want Botox for my TMJ, SO bad, but it’s too expensive to upkeep…

You cant worry about what other people think. I get botox and filler I waited until I was 52 to have it done because I was worried about what people would think.

Insurance should cover Botox with a prior authorization. You may have to have your neurologist submit the request though.
And new fear unlocked with that ingrown hair.

I asked my neurgologist and since it's not something he does in office he doesn't feel comfortable writing an authorization for it. I may call my insurance company and then also call my dentist, because he too suggested relaxer for my TMJ and headaches years ago.

@@ItsJustKelli boo to the neurologist but understandable since he doesn’t administer it. Worth a shot asking the dentist to submit one as well. Fingers crossed insurance will cover it partially. Also, the brands’ website may also have discount cards to help with costs.

@@ItsJustKelli My neurologist is in Toledo near sylvania. She does Botox in the office and was able to get my insurance to cover it. I am still responsible for the copay, but Botox has a program that reimburses patients who submit a claim for the copay up to $2000 a year. Once I pay the copay I submit the claim online and get a check in the mail for the full amount in a couple weeks. It is super easy and makes my Botox every 12 weeks free. I would be happy to give you my neurologist’s information if you are interested. She set me up with the reimbursement program and does a great job with Botox and maintaining my care.
