"Deep house is a subgenre of house music that originated in the 1980s, initially fusing elements of Chicago house with 1980s jazz-funk and touches of soul music." Deep house was largely pioneered by Larry Heard (Mr. Fingers) with tracks such as "Mystery of Love" (1985) and "Can You Feel It?" (1986);[1] the latter had a similar impact on deep house as Derrick May's "Strings Of Life" (1987) did on Detroit techno.

All of you complaining that it isn't 'deep house', it's on the commercial borderline end obviously, they're not going to put underground deep house songs on an album for the masses. For people just getting into deep house it's an okay start, and much better than some of their other compilation albums as of recent.

i was in ibiza a few months back and i was talking to a girl outside cafe mambo, and she was wearing a " I love house music" t-shirt, so i asked her who her favourite artist/producer was, she replied that she loved david guetta but avicii was her favourite, i stopped the conversation there and walked away
People complaining are just acting like hipsters. I grew up hearing the classic late 80s early 90s house music. Im glad these artists have brought back and updated that sound, aswell as fucked dubstep right off. Its great hitting clubs and having all these tunes banging out.

I honestly prefer the current 'house' sound with the bassline and trance, who goes into a club and wants to hear 80's music, this is fresh and modern, it has a taste of 80's and 90's but all in all, its the new era of house #lovinit
la modern classic old garage vibes beats of my generation live on the nu skool respect the foundation u take it to the nxt level this music lives on my heart soul for ever proper dance music lives on for ever
That is almost word for word what I said to the girl at the till when I asked what the album was they had playing. She couldn't believe someone 'my age' was into House. My age? I was there for the birth of House!
i agree to an extent, put id rather have the vibe of 80's and 90's house music rather than most current "house" which has a deep bassline and a trance synth

It's a fine line but I think people just call it deep house these days because UK garage evolved from 4 to the floor into 2 step. I know there are producers still making 4/4 but still. I prefer it this way because it brings the sounds together, it reminds me of the days when it was house and garage, i.e. both styles of music under one roof.

Music is evolving, always has and always will. personally you cant beat a bit of dub, oldskool garage talkin early 90s and the recent house
I honestly prefer the current 'house' sound with the bassline and trance, who goes into a club and wants to hear 80's music, this is fresh and modern, it has a taste of 80's and 90's but all in all, its the new era of house #lovinit
