Thank you for taking the time to film this! We just got the newer model of this and it's leaking water (2nd hand). I'm going to try take it apart and turn it on to spot the leak with the cover off.
Hi Tom, thanks for the detailed video! It gave me the confidence to take my machine apart! I also have the EA8250. It was bought in 2019, put in used for about 6 months then stored away. It was brought back to use about 8 months ago, and it slowly started to not produce any coffee/espresso about 4 weeks ago, but the hot water and steam have been working normally. At the beginning, it'll just take longer for the coffee/espresso to come out. But now it gives me a few drops and it's done. Any suggestions what might be the problem and how to fix it? Thanks so much!
Dear Fix It Tom, ı was have same machine and same problem. I took this part to outside and I put liqid imescale remover inside of 2 channels. I seen liqid come to other chnnel of this part. inside of 1 hour ı did this operation 2 or 3. I rinsed it. I was sure, liqid come from other channel. I rinsed more and more. "I didn't opened it". And in result, MAchine is working perfectly. Very thanks to you.
For some position no need to open this apart.I used to limescale remover likidite detergant. I putted to likid tower channel 1 hours. I changed the likid twite. Problem solvent. Thanks Tom fix it.
thanks for the video, I have a simpler KRUPS (no LCD), but the internals are the same. same thing: the flow counter was leaky. fixed it with using epoxy (2 compound) glue.
Thank you very much for this video. I have a problem (trying to repair it for someone else) that the machine always seem to be out of water. Somebody at our local repair cafe held a magnet against the machine, when it wasn't open and it working? Yet at the place where he held this magnet (I've opened it up now) there is only the little plastic holder where the water comes in and runs on one side to the floating meter and up on the other side. There is however a small electrical circuit attached to that plastic divider. Please sir, could you help me out? Thank you in advance and excuse my English.
Hi. Great video. I have a slightly different problem with the same model. Mine has started to leak coffee underneath the machine. So it operates as normal but have to keep wiping underneath the machine. Trying to determine where it is leaking from.
it sounds like the rings on the piston went bad. that will cause the espresso to leak around the piston. will need to remove the rings take to store and replace.
@@aarondupree3469- I took the machine apart following your video and could see coffee had mostly been leaking and building up on the left hand side of the machine at the bottom and coming out of the overflow spout underneath the drip tray at the front. Where would the piston be located?

Hi there. Any idea why my Krups ea80 sometimes suddenly grinds just like three seconds, then starts making coffee?? Then after dozen of coffees grinds a bit longer, then starts to finally grind normaly about 10 seconds or so.. thanks for thoughts.
Good evening, please help me with some advice. I opened and cleaned a Krups EA809810. After assembling, it went into "Put the 2 containers back" mode, although it has all the containers mounted. Probably the sensors don't feel like I've put them back ... how can I fix this. Thank you
My machine is stuck in the filling process but water comes out of the steam nozzle but that is it. Any tips to try to fix this? We have the machine taken apart.
a few days ago from my krups coffee machine, during the heating phase, water comes out of the capuccino spout ... even if I only have to prepare the coffee! can it be a flowmeter problem? thank you
I’m sorry to say that I have not experienced that issue. There is a valve inside the machine (that I didn’t need to service) that directs water from one spout to the other… it may be that there is a problem with that. Sorry I’m not much help on this issue.
Keep us posted and let me know if you have any additional questions. I’d recommend opening up the machine to pin point the problem before ordering parts.
There is so much easier way. Put out all caffe and water. Replace water with vinegar 1 liter and press buton for Coffee. He will clean everything inside and u dont need do something more. Use 1 liter, then put back water and again press cofffe button 2-3 times for clean from vinegar. Refill caffe and enjoy.
We took it apart and checked the flow meter on our machine. Now it is flowing water out of the steam nozzle and not the coffee nozzles. It is also stuck in the filing cycle. Any ideas?
It still sounds like you are having issues with the flow meter. Did you pull it apart and reglue it? If may look like the flow meter is okay but gently twist the two parts and see if it doesn’t come apart as I show in the video. Good luck!
Based on my research, I think it means there aren’t enough grounds being added to the hopper. This could mean a couple things. The switch that detects the grounds height is faulty. The chute for the grounds is blocked or dirty. Or finally the hook that removes the puck after it is pressed isn’t working. I’d take off the top and watch the hopper/piston zone to see if you can determine which of the three it might be. Good luck!

Hi Tom I watched your previous video about replacing the piston. Is there a way to see if that’s definitely there the water leak comes from.
I had the same problem with a similar model and this solution fixed the problem. Thanks a lot!
