I was having a problem with my coffee consistently tasting burnt. I used a descaling kit, but it didn't help. Then, I followed your tip and cleaned the machine with a toothbrush. It's hard to say if it had a significant impact, as some coffee grounds remained in the water even when I didn't use a capsule. Finally, I tried a cheap, non-Nespresso descaling liquid, running it through the machine twice. I then flushed the machine three times with clean water, and voila! The burnt taste is gone! Thank you so much for the helpful advice!
Many thanks for this video🙏 My wife was trying to throw the nespresso machine into to the bin 🤣. "You want keep hoarding the old stuff at home!". Running pure vinegar several times through the water system and brushing the filter helped like a charm. Surprising my wife with new-old Nespresso: priceless 😁
Thank you for the video! Picking up a cheap used Nespresso today that apparently has this problem. If I can't fix it, I'll lose ten bucks, but I I'm able to get it working again, then it will be a steal!! Wish me luck!
Hi Adrian, I cleaned the front as you have mentioned, I also noticed that there is 3 hols at the back of the pod but the front is like new pod! meaning there is no hols at all and I guess that that make Leak little water in to front bin (for the used pods) my wild guess is that there is not enough pressor from the back and so it does not make any holes... of course that is not the reason but I am not so engineered minded person!! lol.. now I need experienced opinion of what next to do!! so Please! Thank you. Harry. I wish I could show you the pods!! Seems like this machine needs rest now!!
One important tip I forgot to add in the video is in case you have this problem but clear water comes thru the nozzle the fix is : Remove the capsule and let clear water to go thru the machine several times ( rune machine without capsule) . This will level the pressure inside the machine and will allow it to build up normally afterwards.
Hi @benassy69, hope your fine. I have a problem with my Krups XN110 not working. Problem is when turning on the machine both lights light up and when pushing one of them the light flickers to indicate that the machine is heating up. After the button stops blinking and turns to a solid green then normally when I push it again it starts brewing but in my case its starts again with blinking and nothing happens. Any idea what the problem could be? Hope you can help me. Thanks!!
@@benassy69 Thanks a lot, descaling by solution water & winegar was enough to "repair" it. When you will visit Prague be sure that I will invite you for coffee (or Czech beer) ;-)
Thank you very much for the informative video. I tried descaling and cleaned the diffusion plate but my capsules are still not perforated 😢 there's also water and steam coming out the top part of the machine. Could this be due to the o-ring? My machine is a nespresso magimix essenza mini m115. Thank you for all your videos.
Hi Adrian, firs of all thank you so much for prompt reply! Now that I have seen this video and watched it.. so I will try to clean the front part if I can manage! and of course if I can clean it ... just in case, if I can not manage the problem... would you know how I can take this plate out and clean it... I am sure that should solve the problem. I really appreciate your help Adrian. Thank you for your valuable time and advise. Harry.
Whenever i try to make a coffee, the silver (bigger)part of the capsule does not perforate but the smaller part does. It just runs hot water and steam comes out. Have tried descaling and cleaning the grid but no success
I have the same problem. I wonder wether the squares on the diffusion plate should not be sharper. In many used capsules that worked all right you see a pattern of holes as the diffusion plate. Could that be because we used it so much?
@nibiruresearch used mine a lot the first year especially as needed it for Airbnb guests....gave up the ghost almost exactly 3 years after buying it which is when the guarantee expired;(
The squeres there are ment to create a pattern on the foil but not puncture it but instead create streams of water that reach the small holes. The puncturing process is done by the 15 PSI of pressure produced by the pump. As I said in the video the problem is that somewhere in the system there is a pocket of air that reduces the pressure because air is compressive and water is not.
i got stuuk non punctured pod stuck inside / the water is already stuck ready to come and hot / the handle is stuck down.... found no video on this case which seems to be... a classic
I hope it is not the pump! because that is one of the expensive part I guess. Whatever it is... I have learn something I did not know, so no regret if it does not work at the end.
I tried everything to fix the issue and nothing worked. I have a ton of coffee pods I recently ordered so I was kind of out of luck. Since I had no luck fixing the issue, I am going to have to shop for a new Machine. It won't be from Nespresso this time though. To many people having this same issue on all different models. In the meantime here is a qucik fix. I just puncture my pods with a toothpic before inserting them into the machine. You can just "Quickly Puncture" a lot of holes. No need to be maticulaus. Not only does it work, but my lattee's are now so much better since the expresso is actually flowing out of the pod better than when the machine was working.

Thank you so much and your advice fixed my problem with a capsule that was not perforating…saved me buying a new one ..
It worked! Just used a toothbrush and then a needle to clean the holes and it was fine afterward. Thanks a lot!

This was my problem a few days ago . I will try more times and hope it will work. Thanks again 😊
Let me know if it works.

Try running the machine without a capsule for 2-3 times and see if this resolves your problem.

Sure Harry just let me know the outcome.
Thank you very much for your excellent video. Great explanation - and sensible advice to move from "easy to hard" 😊
