@@dcollier7239 I dislike the comment cuz some of the brawls between the flames vs oilers and Montreal vs Boston those fights are pretty good. Not all line brawls are amazing I agree but we don't have big players like Probert or Hatcher
@@MapleLeaFFoxx Yeah 20-30 years ago yes. Today it's hugging and kissing and lovin and hugging. All they do is grab someone with gloves on and dance with them trying so hard not to make eye contact with each other. Today's NHL is dancing with the stars with tights on. No Grit When Grapes was discriminated against and was forced to leave NHL went for a sissy falling out. It will never be the same. Ever!!! This is coming from a childhood memory vividly remembering that era clearly and I use to fall asleep before the second period started to the voice of Foster Hewitt back in Newfoundland as a 4 year old. So I know hockey! This isn't it and I hardly can watch a period and never Mclean or commercials

Imagine this happening in the playoffs this year with no fans. Gonna be such a weird experience.
I watched that Blues Red Wings game live that night. That game was legendary. "CHEVELDE!!!" The next day the Blues held a charity event at a bowling alley. The local paper had the two goalies fighting on the front page that day, we got Cujo to autograph it. I still have it somewhere.
I'll never forget being a kid and randomly cutting through a new subdivision which twist n chase were doing s meet n greet at, scariest mfers being close to while being 7 or 8 but also teddy bears that were a golden comedic duo
But you have to give Probert props in that one 3 on 1 in a freaking line brawl and he was WINNING the freaking fights. He'd finish off one another would attack get rid of him and here's the next contestant.
Best ever were the Detroit-Colorado full bench fights from '96-'98 time frame.

I went to that Hawks vs Canucks game and I remember I was screaming so loud because it was so cool to go see the game with my dad and just seeing these guys go at it, my 5year old self just fell in love with hockey and ever since I have been a hockey player.
It was nice to see Claude get what he needed
This is great. I wish there was a part 2 and part 3 to this. I have loved hockey for a million years and Darren McCartey was and still is one of my heroes. I remember the brawl well I watched the whole game at the time. Claude Lemieux got what he deserved for the hit on Kris Draper. The more recent brawls have to continue. I a tightly wound aggressive combative person and watching hockey releases my rage in a safe way and what's more hockey is my therapy and my lifeline. Without it I would not be alive anymore even though I can't play it. Thank you for this priceless collection.
McCarty vs lemiuex shows that when hockey was hockey, you couldn't run around doing crazy stuff without facing consequences.

Ah, the Battle Of Alberta and my favorite goalie fight featured first. I seemed to notice a pattern with these. If a massive brawl breaks out and the goalies decide to have a go, everyone just stops fighting and watches the tanks go at it XD

@Puckman637 As a Devils fan (yeah, I know) I can't stand either of the teams, and even with Lemieux's service to the Devils, his shot on Draper was pretty pathetic. So while I hate the Avs and the Wings, the way he snuck that in there as retaliation was "clever."
