love the idea that she starts out not having a wish so that maybe Starboy might end up being her wish. A lovely echo of Tangled: "You were my new dream"
I can imagine that Asha is the kind of individual that have everything - dear friends, warm food, a safe home and stable job. What is there to wish for, when you already have everything? And ironically, Queen Amaya's words could had motivated Asha to call out to the stars, because she knows what the kingdom actually needs. Which could be a reference to the Princess and the Frog storyline, and the narrative of "Want VS Need" for the protagonist.
"I dont have a wish" thats something that many teenagers who dont know what they want to do in their life can relate to. I mean, there are so many characters who follow their dreams from childhood, or want to achieve something. But irl many young people struggle with saying what they want from life and thatd be so awesome if disney talked about this.
I love how every animator and fanfic after seeing “Wish” are now: Ok fine, if you’re not gonna give us a good story, we’re gonna do it ourselves! This animatic was even better and I loved the piano music!
Bro I love she has the mother Gothel vibes. She is like a mother to Asha yet also hiddenly toxic and evil. Man if only disney hired u. U would've made the movie so much better/gen

I was just talking about this movie with my friend and I said “I can write better!” He said “I’ll wait” and now I’m rewriting it. Actually all I do is just hear what people wanted from Disney including me, and add it. New view on old idea (there is 2 morals because what’s how 6+ movies work, for children moral is what we all are stars and other (just not in song, SHOW INSTEAD OF SAYING ITS MOST BASIC RULE) while for more adults it’s overpowering trauma and loss) female lead with more unique personality (chill sassy a little angry protective and traumatized….why not) more serious moments (I wanted to SHOW what Magnifico is evil, and I did with VERY irredeemable act. When you pop the wish in here you literally die, but you can’t talk about it because Magnifico keeps it all in secret and control. And okay what already makes him evil…but I’m not Vivziepop, I need to show it on character we like…..what if it’ll be a princess…..and he’s a king….) love line, reasonable evil villain, and more and more.
I really love the fact that u gave Amaya major mother gothel vibes both being narcissistic and manipulative at the same time to Asha knowing that once again in the original concept her and Magnifico were gonna be her original parents! I really could imagine Amaya being both mother gothel and the evil queen from snow while I also imagine Asha being rapunzel and Cinderella and Tiana in the concept!❤️😳 really love this genius video and these fan made videos of these like seriously!😆❤️
It would be interesting if asha didn't want a wish because she want to make things on her own and not just for a wish, also the queen been a manipulator, giving asha kindness and warm, so that asha could see her as a mother figure and not be brave enough to upon against her (the king would be a manipulator too, because i like to think asha lost her parents and see the king and queen as their parental figures) it would be so good for their character arcs, but i bet that the final result is probably written by IA.
This is definitely giving me Mother Gothel/Rapunzel vibes. I like the idea of Queen Amaya being a mentor/mother figure to Asha who's secretly hiding her dark, corrupt side.
Have you heard about any discord platform for restoring Wish? I've seen a few comments on that on an animatic (can't remember which), but for the life of me, I can't find it! I may not have this artistic talent, but that is one remake I'd love to follow!@@sarahsworks
big kudos for adressing a way in which wishes can be used for the wrong or would put the kingdom at risk. i would have loved for amaya and magnifico to be asha's parents cuz that way not only would we have gotten the first villain disney couple but also the first evil parents for a protagonist. When you look back on disney movies there are no villains who are parents to the protagonist, the closest is mother gothel and even that is questionable given than she wasnt rapunzel's biological mother and only kept her for her own selfish intentions, and when it comes to villains actually related to the protagonists at much we get uncles like hades to hercules or scar to simba (and im just realizing in both cases they share the same initial for their names lmao). It would have made for a nice conflict cuz that way asha wouldn't only be going against her king and queen but also against her own parents (even worse if they are a case of villains who genuenly cared for their child up until she started to cross them)
Oh I like that part! It remind me the "Miracle ceremony" in Encanto ^^ and Asha having no wish is a nice idea. I imagine that if she had no wish, the ceremony will have a problem... or she will flee before the ceremony. And Queen Amaya seems like she want to play nice but nothing is more important than the wishes and the control that her hushband and her get because they have the wishes, they have power! That's what's important for her!
What an interesting concept! Asha begins the story by not having a wish at all! It would be a great motivating factor for the story. She could go out trying to figure out what her wish is, Starboy is trying to help her find her wish, and King Magnifico and Amaya could twist it about that she is dangerous to the public because "she won't give up her wish, therefor she must be hiding something that could hurt the kingdom". Or this could go that after her "This Wish" song, she realizes that she either wants to grant wishes or wants someone who will understand how uncomfortable she is about not having a wish then boom, STARBOY.
Oh my GOD this would have INSTANTLY fixed the flaws and lack of direction in Asha's character in the final movie - not to mention actually give more reasons for WHY a conflict happens when she goes off-script instead of the "Magnifico loses it just because and also the evil book or something" that happens instead. Like, seriously, I can't understand why they made Wish so... AIMLESS and WITHOUT SOLID FOLLOWABLE MOTIVATION in literally every area???😭
Honestly my wish would be that I could somehow see a full movie of your Wish rewrite animatics, but these short animatics you make are just as good (also realistically making a full animated movie by yourself would definitely be a pain in the a** even without copyrights issues). But you are so talented!
I like this concept Where Asha is the daughter of King Magnifico and Queen Amaya. She's a good person but is conflicted to go against her parents whom she cares about
i don't know if somebody else pointed it out, but i like how the queen actually feels like a villain here. i like how it turns the "not everybody can have their wish granted" on its head. like yeah the idea makes sense on a surface level, but its how their going about it that matter. they view themselves as the ultimate good for their people, so anybody who opposes them is bad, even if its their own people. in the end, their viewpoint of what would happen if they granted the wishes isn't for their people its for themselves. its a justification to make all the harm their doing right while still pretending to protect their people. its a mindset like: "well their inept and don't know what their doing, so ill do everything for them." maybe its sparked from good intentions, but it inevitably hurts the people its trying to help. it not only infantilizes the people by assuming their stupid, but it also denies them their own bodily autonomy. it denies them the right to think for themselves, and instead allows the ones in charge to think for them. which is why i see the: "a writer sparks revolts, and a painter anarchy" very interesting, because both of them are a freedom of expression. and by taking those away their essentially taking away the voice of their people. they aren't allowed to express themselves because they might think, and if they can think they can disagree so they cant be allowed to express. it also implies that people with those jobs have disagreed with the rulers before, critiqued their rule. but instead of the king and queen doing some self reflection, they instead maintained the idea that their the ultimate good for their people and deemed them as trouble makers, and snuffed them out. overall it makes the king and queen feel like actual tyrants and villains and i love that. keep it up. i could also see that line i pointed out being in their villain song lol.
I like how you gave more examples for why wishes are very important, you did a better job explaining the concept than Wish itself. Could you please do an animatic explaining the connections between the wishes and the Star please?
I love thiss kind of scenes in movies and videos that teach the character (or sometimes the viewer) ssomething and, in that instant, you know that the character is going to do something interesting and key for the movie. WONDERFUL WISHES FOR YOU, SARAH
It would be coool is Asha was like their daughter it would give her sense of duty to the people a lot more like reason and more character arc of having to go against her parents and like maybe trying to convince them to be good
Honestly I prefer the original idea of her being the daughter of both the king and queen, it’ll really play into the whole breaking generational curses/trauma/cycle storyline 🥺 you don’t always have to follow in the footsteps of your parents nor is their doctrine always yours to take
I also preferred Asha having same friends and family from the movie in the rewrite while as for the movie Star make it as Starboy's (Earendel) companion and at same time, similar to Ponyo's sisters.
Omg yes! This is so much better than the Magnifico cannot grant all wishes nonsense! The fun of disney villains is to come off as superficially loving like Mother Gothel and Hans. You don't want someone to know they're the "bad" guy from the Main Character's perspective until the twist at the end. Hell Frozen worked so well because of the Hans reveal. The queen explained this so much better than a room of disney writers.
Imagine the story was that instead of giving her wish to the king at the ceremony, she runs off to the forest, wishes to meet her true love, and Starboy appears. Her wish literally comes true when he comes down from the sky and sings the ballad with her (they could hint at him seeing her as a child, sitting in the tree with her dad, and telling her dad she wishes to meet someone kind and gentle one day and fall in love.) She becomes the first person in the kingdom who doesn't give up her wish and is now hunted by the evil king and queen because she has shown to everyone that wishes can come true and don't have to be forsaken.
You want to make it better?? Asha is the Rosas' princess. She's the daughter of Amaya and Magnifico, they hope she can follow their steps, its her responsability. She doesn't call Amaya "Queen Amaya", she call her mom, mother. This can be a scene like Rapunzel and Mother Gothel, her dynamic with her parents its like that. But they're evil, she has to fight them, her own parents!
I wish this movie talked about changing wishes. You don’t have one destined wish for life. And after giving that wish away and forgetting it, you would eventually have another wish. It would be fun to see Magnífico deal with that 😂
I do enjoy the "Encanto"-esque vibe of a wish being a duty, not just a fun thing to do. In "Wish," Magnifico's point of the citizens being codependent and ungrateful is largely true because they volunteered to give their wishes.

Because Wish is not just what you want but all the hope power and strength of your soul, it’s what makes you special makes you live another day and what makes you a star. And when you don’t have it…..press F for Etualle. You might say it’s too dark but you all asked Disney to stop threading us like babies and they did Mufasa scene first! It still stays 6+ it has moral for kids and more adult people too!) but it’s really interested how to connect Amaya’s speech what wishes are dangerous without control to Aster’s semi-arc about real danger of wishes…..also! Can someone help me? In original Concept where there is evil couple Asha was princess, so after Revolution stuff she’ll become the queen of Rosas. But Najma is not the best candidate on politician because all she haves is sassy personality a goat couple of credits and her top-notched brain (not really. Yes Hamilton jokes.) so who should rule? Etualle? She’s dead. Aster? He’s like 16 (I wanted a Disney couple where guy will be shorter and younger and I decided to do what) other characters? I think we have enough. So only one what stays is Amaya, and I guess making her redeemable villain would be great….but it’s not right…… how you think am I supposed to act?
You should do a fic ( maybe even illustrated) on either fanfic ir ao3 on how would have the story could have turned out if they have kept the Star boy Version, especially with a mew deleted scene from that concept where starboy transforms into a horse and we see Evil Queen Amaya with her cat. don't trust amaya or magnifico or both because they will steal your wishes trust starboy and asha because they can grant your wishes.
i love to see that.
Will you make the completed animatic of Asha and starboy singing "all at costs"?
i think the concept of the movie would have worked if asha was the king's and queens daughter

If queen Amaya was meant to be a villain I prefer it if she was a redeemable villain who eventually decides to help Asha.
Good video.
She seems to be speaking to the queen formally. Is Asha part of the royal family in this au?🤔
This deleted scene from the original movie fits so will:
