- A westbound BNSF train with a heavy transformer immediately behind the locomotives passes Austin. Ancient boxcar at 4:50. Anyone recognize the markings?

5 stars as usual! 😎😎😎😎😎
Thanks JR
Rather amazed they sent that multi-million dollar load on that line with its history of sharp curves and stringline derailments. Still, nice to see it!
Magnificent filming! Thank you for this great video.
Beautiful glorious day o Mulan Pass. Great spot to capture those helpers and running full out! Fantastic and thank you very much!🙂
Thanks Timothy. Glad you enjoyed it
Great location and video.
Excellent video Scott.
Thanks once again Hans. I really appreciate it
Yet again, you demonstrate how to take railroad videos. Whenever I view other videos, I compare them to your work and sadly, very very few met the standard you have set. With that in mind, I eagerly await your next presentation.
Thank you very much Neil I really appreciate it.
There be monsters, outstanding video
Thanks, retiree !!
Thanks Scott H .sharing the magnificent video with outstanding Locomotives. Your Railfanning endeavors are promising. Bliss
Thank you Rol !! Much appreciated
Oil in electrical Xfmrs is Pyranol which does carry a Pcb issue, so charging them dry & w Nitrogen seems like an excellent idea.
I spent most of my career installing HV transformers and we always received ours either full of Nitrogen or dry air. Pretty hard to move the damn things when full of oil. I have also seen many transformer moves on Virtual Railfan and keep wondering where are the rads, bushings, conservator, etc.? I've been retired for 20 years - maybe they're all filled with SF6 now - or something.
Someone said they ship large transformers without oil but pressurized with nitrogen to keep out moisture. Makes sense. Thx.
Great video, my friend! I love these landscapes!
Thank you Alex ! Hope all is well with you my friend
Awesome catch there brother! 😎🤙🏻
Thanks Brandon
@@ScottHiddelston you’re welcome sir

Thanks CN. !!!
Another great video as usual. 😊
Thanks Kenny. I appreciate the comment
More great work Scott! That hill is a great spot and worth the climb! Is that the 4029 or the 4025? It sounds a bit tighter and focused , but it's hard t0 tell there?
Cheers Gregg.
That was the 4025 Gregg. Still haven't pushed the button on a 4029. Very windy while taking that video so I had it in the zeppelin thingy. Maybe that helped?
@@ScottHiddelston Maybe Scott? At the start it sounded like the shotgun , just like the last clip. Still waiting for mine....
I wanna se this train again when it will come
Here
Great Video!!! What kind of cars were there at 5:35 ? ...the 4 cars with little windows.
They are autoracks
@@TheMetGuy thanks!
The roof and ends remind me of the CBQ paint scheme or also L&N. Too shaded to be exact.
👍👌
Nice K5LLA on that GEVO, how many helpers do heavy westbound freight trains use when climbing up mountains?
On this Pass the helpers are in a 4-set. On heavy unit trains all 4 are online but in manifests or stacks the lighter weight means they can shut down 1, 2 or even 3 if they need to.
Sadly, that horn sounds like every other horn on every single GEVO in existence. I’m forever spoiled growing up, listening to Southern and early CSX five chime Leslies. THOSE were worthy of listening to.
How much is the incline here??? Thank you
Made the trek out again?
Yes, It wasn't supposed to be but I got a free couple of days so I dashed out. Haven't seen anything from you recently Austin. Still hitting the hills up there?
@@ScottHiddelston have gotten a little busy with it being spring and in the middle of buying a house.
