@@ingenuitypulse6254 yeah, I didn't see her going for straight up mix at any point which is what I was looking for. possibly because a lot of the setups are vulnerable to dp
@@gustavgunz1877the strength of a character’s zoning tools changes from matchup to matchup. Honestly axl probably has better zoning in neutral overall, whereas dizzy has more setplay and mixups after a knockdown. You can’t really call any characters in this game “pointless” because they all have their various strengths and weakness and at the end of the day, it’s best to just play who you find fun
Different playstyles. Anji isn't a zoner at all, Dizzy's zoning is much worse at keeping people out than Testament/Axl in exchange for stronger setplay and conversions.
check out the Dany vs Jevil replay from 2 days ago on this channel where Ky out-zones all fish and pillars using stun edge. strive is an interesting game for zoners, even characters with way better fullscreen zoning like asuka can struggle to keep certain matchups out, but yeah, like the others said, dizzy seems to be more about oki and setplay than straight up zoning (the ice field makes all knockdowns become hard knockdown, even if dizzy gets knocked down).
Not. Enough. Volcanic Vaiper

Looks like Steven has gotten the hang of the matchup. I’m definitely taking some notes here
I watched this on 2x speed to look for specific dizzy setups and it really makes fighting sol look like a hellish nightmare
From what I saw it looked like this Dizzy player chose to be more zoner than usual. They were using Michael Sword & Catch Fish for spacing.

@ssaunter9965 Sol is VERY good in a close range scramble, probably smart to play outside of his preferred range if possible
Casual here: what's beeing the point playing anji, testament or even axel if she zone this hard with this screen blowing attacks ?
