  • Inmarsat has a simple and easily implemented solution to meet the International Civil Aviation Organization’s recommendation that all aircraft be tracked at least 15 minute intervals by 2016.
Using Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Contract technology (ADS-C), an aircraft’s position, vector, altitude and speed are sent over Inmarsat’s satellite networks. Using this data, Air Traffic Management providers and airlines can track aircraft in near real-time. With over 90% of trans-oceanic aircraft already ADS-C equipped, this an important part of the aviation industry’s drive to increase aircraft tracking globally and improve aviation safety.
