Hey Martin, Glad /Hope you are back safely. Heard Redding was really bad ..... Well, I look at the quality of the person doing the video more than the camera quality. I think there is lots of new stuff for you to talk about. Especially with all the new types of bikes coming out. Fat bike (Making them better seemingly every year) and Gravel/Adventure bikes and Plus bike etc... Tons of new stuff
Yes, safe, the fires came within a half mile of me. All our trails have been destroyed and the smoke continues to keep our health at a low level. The fire continues to burn North and South, and is about 50% controlled at this time. Ranked about the 6th worst fire in CA history. I have a few bike videos in mind; trailer camping, Motobecane Grand Record review, long term test of my fat bike, pedal stroke/cadence skills....bike reviews require the purchase and a years testing so there won't be very many of those.
Hi Faboulousoards and my newest e I m going to try some connections tomorrow I never sold old keyboards so I m connecting my newest KORG WAVESTATE with so many heavelly sounds as a slave to Technics KN7000 or another of that serie - or more with a midi split cable I let you know about the result - try to place here I can also try a Roland XP- with good arpeggio o
Hello, I had a micro arranger for a few years and never got around to understand the keyboard. Thank you for doing these series of videos. I have a quick question. I have a Casio WK-500 and it only has a USB B output to connect to a computer. Would I be able to connect from the USB B connector to the midi output of the Korg arranger and use my Casio as the master controller? USB B connector is the other end of a printer cable. Thanks for your answer.
There is a company in England making a USB host that converts USB to 5pin MIDI DIN socket. kentonuk.com/product/midi-usb-host-mk3/ I don't know for sure if it will work, USB from instrument to computer have class compliant and non-compliant builds. Compliant requires no Windows drivers, but depending on the age of your keyboard that Windows may be as old as WIN7. IF your keyboard was manufactured at the time of WIN10 then maybe. Not sure if the Kenton host requires WINDOWS compliance and therefor no drivers. My GUESS is the only way the Kenton can function is if your keyboard is class compliant. Plug your USB keyboard into a computer and see if the computer recognizes your keyboard without drivers. IF your computer is asking for drivers after you plug your keyboard in my GUESS is that the Kenton USB Host MK3 will not work for you.
Both keyboards work with pc and Mac without drivers. Windows 10 and Mac latest. No issues. I am trying to use the Casio as the midi controller for the Micro. The UK Kentonuk would be the perfect fit I think.
The Kenton is supposed to function then. At about $100.00 US for the MIDI device the next thing to consider is how much you want to invest in the Casio. A Roland 49 key controller is about $200.00.
Very good tutorial, thanks. Can i connect a Miditech GarageKey Mini equiped only with ,,USB to host'' which i want to use it only for the solo parts using sounds from a Korg pa3x?
The GarageKey does not have 5pinMIDIdin connections. You will have to go through a computer over USB, then buy a MIDI to USB adapter for the Korg. Then you would need to set up the computer on a DAW, and then set up the DAW for the Korg. The Korg would need a MIDI to USB converter cable to plug into the computer. After all this you may have so much delay between the key press and the sound that it would be for nothing. IF THIS SOUNDS COMPLICATED, it is for a beginner and may not be what you like in the end. /////// The only other solution is a Kenton converter ( reverb.com/item/15755825-kenton-midi-usb-host ) but you take the chance this may not work either. If you really want to control your Korg from another keyboard, look for a MIDI controller or Synth that already has the MIDI din 5 pin sockets.
also i was wondering if you can tell me the biggest memory card you can use in the arranger i have a 32gb in there but i cant save my global settings and dont know why. Maybe 32 to big?
Global settings are saved internally on the MicroArranger. 32gig SD card can store a MicroArranger completely filled up with songs/style creations/tone edits/and registration/banks 32,000 times.
Hi there, i have the Same Setup but have one Problem: when i Play a melody with the right Hand in my masterkeyboard the chords geht's Mixed Up. How can this bei solved? Amy Suggestions? Thank you!
@@funnzie Hey Funnzie, thank you for your reply. However it does not seem to make a Difference what i choose. Any more ideas? Also have you figured Out how Ensemble works? Thank you!
Thank you. I Just checked. Itbmust have Something to do with the midi Setup in the global Menu i guess. As soon as i choose masterkeyboard it behaves like this. I have already tried but could Not Figure IT Out. The Manual did Not Help ne either.
Two pedal inputs are on the back, 1) a sustain pedal. 2) an assignable pedal, such as stepping through the style variations with each press of the pedal. Both are standard pedals that can be purchased anywhere, does not have to be a Korg pedal. For an easier installation make sure the sustain pedal comes with a switch, a physical switch on the pedal for what is called polarity. Every keyboard has their own polarity which means without the switch the sustain could be backwards and without pressing the pedal the sustain is on, and then press the pedal the sustain is off. There is a setting in the global parameters of the KorgMA to set this, but easier for most folks to flip the switch.
hello, is it possible to connect korg pa600 with micro arranger, for the desired voice comes out of the micro arranger only drum and bass, so when i play style on pa600 and send command to micro arranger for drum and bass only, while drum and bass voice on pa600 I turned it off, so I have 4 separate sound outputs, drums and bass from the micro arranger, accomp and voice from the pa600. please guide and how, thank you
Yes. Use MIDI channel #1 to send on the KorgPA600 and set the MicroArranger to receive like instructed in the video. So instead of me using my YamahaP95 to run the MicroArranger you'll be using the KorgPA600. MIDI cable out of the MIDIout from the KorgPA600 to MIDIin of the Korg MicroArranger. When you engage style play on the KorgPA600 it should also start the MicroArranger style too and be perfectly timed (if not you will have to go through the global settings to make the MicroArranger a slave to the the tempo). I assume you can turn off the PA600 parts of the style just like on the MicroArranger. Then on the Microarranger turn off all the instruments of the style except the drums and bass. You will need to save the style changes as a "Single Touch Setting" on the MicroArranger to one of those 4 buttons under the screen. ( I don't remember, but you may need to save the style to hold the muted instruments ) Then save it all as a performance. Sounds like a lot of work, but once you've done it a few times it will be a simple setting to make.
Latency will not be a problem using the Thru box. Latency can be a problem "daisy chaining" gear. Using the MIDI thru on the back of a synth to connect 4 together will have latency, I don't know how much however, because I have always used MIDI boxes to make sure to have a fast connection. Back in the old days of MIDI (early 1990's) I used MOTU products like this: motu.com/products/midi/xpressxt_usb to control MIDI gear from a hardware MIDI sequencer. Latency can also be isolated to the specific synth/groove box/sampler, I have heard reports of slow timing on some gear, but never experienced it myself.
Para conectarse a una computadora a través de MIDI, necesitará una interfaz MIDI. Puede ser un simple cable o una interfaz de audio y/o interfaz MIDI. Ejemplos: 1) www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/UMOneMk2--roland-um-one-mk2-usb-midi-interface 2) www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/microlite--motu-micro-lite 3) www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/U24--zoom-u-24-handy-audio-interface#
I have already made of video of MIDI connections specifically for the Korg: ruclips.net/video/aS2cp7dGi-4/видео.html Please see my playlist there are 15 videos on this keyboard.
Yes and no. There is an audio stereo input for playing music through the MicroArranger, which means you can use a small mixer with a microphone input and gain control to play or sing through the built in speakers. OR send the out put through PA (sound re-inforcement) system, or to a recording device. The MicroArranger does not record audio however, only MIDI. Keyboards like the Casio WK7600 does have a mic input and audio recording to SD card available.
Really useful stuff. It was a good recap for me. Look forward to more Korg MA tutorials please. Many thanks.
Thank you. Next step would be to dive into creating user styles I guess. Got to figure all this out :(
Thank you!!! Your tutorial helped me to set up the midi connection between korg triton and korg pa600!
You are welcome. I am amazed the tutorial worked for something other than the MicroArranger.
I guess Triton was the slave
Thank you very much! Quite informative and helpful
You are welcome. I have a more complex lesson in MIDI using more than 5 instruments at: ruclips.net/video/PLKbCdE4Jic/видео.html

@@funnzie Thanks very much for the advice and explanations,it was helpful. I will choose a midi controller that has MIDI DIN 5 pin socket.
Can we control fill in with midi controller?
Thanks
The Korg MA would have to have MIDI CCs assigned to the fill function. I don't think so, but if you can find a CC list from Korg maybe.....???

Hi there, i have the Same Setup but have one Problem: when i Play a melody with the right Hand in my masterkeyboard the chords geht's Mixed Up. How can this bei solved? Amy Suggestions? Thank you!
Depends on the setting on the front panel, in the upper right where you select upper/lower combinations.
@@funnzie Hey Funnzie, thank you for your reply. However it does not seem to make a Difference what i choose. Any more ideas? Also have you figured Out how Ensemble works? Thank you!
My next best suggestion...Your master keyboard must be set to MIDI channel one, not OMNI where all channels are transmitted simultaneously.
