Videos like this are extremely helpful and I wish Korg could make more of them but the low cost of the microARRANGER probably doesn't make it worth their time and effort. The Korg microARRANGER is a very powerful little instrument. The value is its low price point ($450-500) and small size (39" long, 9.5lbs). Onboard speakers are nice for living-room practice sessions (a little tinny) but when plugged into an amp, this thing puts out quality sound. It's very capable of gig work. The microARRANGER is simply a downsized PA-50/PA-50-SD which traces its heritage back to 2004 (the SD card replaced the floppy drives in 2009). Same functionality, same menu system. As noted, the buttons the menus, the manuals are not intuitive at all. If you have never had an arranger keyboard before this thing will overwhelm you. Even if you have experience with other brand arrangers you will simply have to invest time into learning "the Korg way" of doing things. There is a ton of functionality available - but you will have to learn where it is and how to get to it and there's no substitute for spending time with the instrument. Do not buy one just a few weeks before a gig and expect to be proficient! I also have experience with Yamahas and I personally find their arranger keyboards/menus to be easier to navigate and use - however, they don't have anything near this powerful (or this compact) for the low price point. If you get a Yamaha arranger it will probably be easier and faster to use - but you will need to spend at least $700 (for a PSR-650) and you'll have a larger, heavier instrument to lug around. For me, this fills a niche (nicely) between a 88-key piano and an upscale Yamaha arranger.
Hi if say i wanted to use this Korg arranger in the 16 track sequencer mode, does it function like a ,lets say korg m50 workstation ?... I mean can you set loops record tracks individually .edit options like cut copy paste ? quantise real time .Basically im asking if it can function like a workstation ,without having to use backing styles ?...Thanks.....
I am very excited about this arranger. IF this instrument is as good as it sounds and functions like the manual reads (I have read the entire manual on this keyboard)....then I will take the time to study it and become a pro programmer on it. I will then provide expert tutorial video's and donate hundreds of hours of my time in the production of these videos. A product of this magnificent value needs to be offered to the world with detailed teaching video, I will provide that for you,. Just as I have increased the sales of the Roland Gaia SH-01 through my tutorial video series, I will do the same for you. I have just invested in an new pro video camera, and will shoot better quality than the Roland videos. Thank you Korg from the little musicians who have little money but big dreams.
Can you tell me how to different styles for example I'd like to skip between macarena with 64 tempo and underground with a 128 tempo in real time... How do I do that? Please help...
Please tell me where are these 16 tracks. It says there are two sequencers where are they? I just purchased this and found very complicated to operate especially recording and editing. Are any tutorials available for this. ( I was used to ymaha psr.)
I got the MAR-1 now for 6 days. I made 2 songs that I have to edit in one night, very productive keyboard! The manual that came with it was short and in germany (ordered from Thomann). I think I have to order print service to print big english owners manual, so I can learn more about this keyboard. Sorry, but can anyone answer, why is there 2nd sequencer and how to use it?
I want to know how to make my own music. Where is the sequence.. where are the tracks.. I can't find anything. the manual sucks.. this keyboard is for the makers who know how to use it already...
Hi. Can I edit a style? Not interested in sequencing, want to lower the faders on the rinky dink sounds in styles and keep just the bass and the drums. Maybe turn one of the other inner style voices to a tuba, so tuba, bass and drums only.. Is that doable?
+earGuitar Yes. Backing Sequences have 16 tracks. Each track is editable (which voice on the track, effects added to the voice, volume level for that track). Its buried in menus but it's there.
I own a Korg Micro-arranger, it is too complicated, and the manual is absolutely too hard to follow. Please Korg, make a new one, or some tutorial videos!

For some reason on my korg only the drums work with the style play. I cant hear any other sounds. Can anyone advise?
+Elementum Ignis Other sounds don't kick in until you play a chord in your left hand. Coud this be your issue?
can I use it as a midi controller for my virtual instrumental, then switch back to a normal keyboard inside of pro tools 10-12.5

This keyboard has nice sounds/arrangements...but trying to navigate the menus and record songs is an exasperatng experience!!!
