So you are having problems with your PC? getting a lot of errors and BSOD? well don't worry, I will show you a simple easy to follow guild on fixing and repairing the windows 10 registry files.
1. SFC /SCANNOW
2. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
3. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
4. Perform System Restore
5. Reset Windows 10 with Reset This PC

Hi, Britec. Thanks to this video I was able to sort out a serious problem with windows update that had been going on for some time. I had searched for a fix before but was getting lots of complex and conflicting suggestions thrown at me. Keep up the good work mate
Tried all the methods above but my issue is, the pc does not boot into the windows environment. The computer is attempting to boot windows from the D: drive and not C where it is installed.
You Need to go into your BIOS on start up and change the boot location drive

in my opinion, a solution that removes many "headaches" would be to create a copy of the operating system on an external hard drive that you can restore and in the same way, a copy of the important files for the user on an external hard drive .

If you fix a broken registry what happens to any good registry entry that were added since your last backup? and how do you know if your registry is not already starting to be corrupted (even if still working good for now) when you do your backup?

When I try to run Dism Restore Health it says:
"Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool

Error: 2

The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log"
Why is that ? Is there a fix ?

I am a little confused: when i was cutting a video today and exported it my pc suddenly froze so I turned it out by pressing the button on my pc but when i tried to start it again a bluescreen popped up and it restarted. I only shortend the video and didnt add any effect or anything else to it. It was also a quite short video. Now I watched this video but i don't know how to get in that command widow as my pc doesn't even properly start. The last days it also sometines took a couple tries to get it started because my screen didnt "turn on" and stayed black

thanks I've had my Norton popping up saying I has alot of registry issues and my computer would pop up saying something unexpected happened and needed to restart this fixed it right away

Question for you when you go to load or import your backed up registry into your machine is there another way to go about it besides the way you did it?
Reason being is I have gone to my backed up registry and rather than going to Regedit and importing it that way I’ve ever done is double clicked it and imported, but that way, however the success rate wasn’t very high LOL.
Also I was going to the backed up registry and right click it and just chose import or in the store I can’t recall the option it’s one of them LOL and the success rate was a lot more so approximately 75% to 80%.

I had this problem - I couldn't logon to windows after an update(so I had to uninstall the update each time prior being able to use my windows again). What helped me was creating another user with admin rights on my pc and copy/paste the files from the old user to the new one. This way I didn't have to reinstall my programs, kept my files and everything(only had to adjust some little things). That really worked for me. Big respect to Britec09 for tackling these windows develish issues!!:o))
It's also possible to manually enable Registry backups even in Windows 10 20H2. For some reason Microsoft disabled this automatic backup in an earlier version of Windows 10. These backups can be helpful is recovering from a corrupted system registry 🙂🤷♂️

I only have access to command prompt through Advanced repair as I cannot access windows. I am stuck in the proverbial repair loop.
After running the sfc scan I got a "windows resource protection could not perform requested operation" message.
DISM scan gave me "DISM does not support servicing windows PE with the \online option" then "DISM log file can be found at x:\windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log"
The DISM restore health gave me "Error 50" with same message as scan health result.

Very good video but I would like to have seen more discussion with the Upgrade Repair using the Media Creation Tool; it doesn't always go to good-end-of-job and has stopped with weird ox0000### -type messages, not always the same on repeated runs!?!

I saw there was a video uploaded a few years ago but I'm not sure it's as relevant, will need to watch it.
My registry seems to have been replaced with another as my pc is being run as domain joined. Cant seem to remove it although I have removed rpc and rdp plus vmraid and vdisk entries. My bootfile is located in syswow64 folder but access denied and can't use del/F to delete. Can't access sfc. There's new drivers and from what I see in registry they are running commands through powershell to run dll files. Event viewer is blank so I presume I have been denied access. I have done disk clean/format and clean install but it remains. Saw safemode key in registry and when I checked it all drivers are allowed in minimal driver option. Anyone have any ideas on how I can get rid of this?

@britec09 I have a problem whereby my desktop won't load upon start up, I have to use command prompt and type explorer.exe or use Task Manager and type the same thing, do you know any solution to remedy this issue please? Or anybody reading this comment please? Thank you
I have a problem when I login into windows, I get a black screen with a flickering taskbar then it stops and my pc works normally after about 30 seconds, although it's still an annoying problem I'd like to fix, ive tried doing a clean boot, uninstalling Windows updates, reinstalling gpu drivers, basically everything i could do, I just can't fix it, do u have any other solutions?
try troubleshooting ur pc power or diagnose with occt if its crash or freeze ur psu might need to upgrade. update all ur drivers and clean install ur graphic drivers using DDU, lastly try clear ur cmos if the problem happend after installing new gpu
On one of my machines 'dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth' started, but only got as far as displaying the Image Version line, then hung for ever with cursor blinking and displaying nothing else. Why? And how can that be fixed/got past?

what if run as the administration is not working. I have a problem with I can not run cmd with administration and registry also please anyone know how to solve this issue and also I can't open task manager it will say after 1 min system can not specify {C\WIndow\system32.taskmanager} it show something like this error in all the program with run as administrator and some of the program is not responding clicking also I can not install or uninstall any program because of administration issue and my user has also administration permission please help me if know the solution

I tried to load a backup regedit by double clicking while it was on my desktop but then nothing would open because its "side by side" didn't match. I unplugged it then plugged it back in and now it won't boot. Please help

at 2:10 I got the "error 2" and "The System can not find the file" Error at 73.9% Scan Status....anyone knows what that means?

Im starting to get sick of these BSOD errors. I get both registry error and system service exception errors. I'm fulling resetting the laptop and if that doesn't work then idk what to do. Probably will give up. I thought it was just because i installed the wrong drivers but apparently that's not the case.
I did the Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth but it seems to be stuck at 62.3%

Media creation tool worked for me. After weeks of trying just about all the repair videos.
Mine says broken registry, then does not boot to windows but instead the bios. I have set my boot options to windows and it restarts. Gives the broken registry page then boots to bios.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

@@bi980 actually u all can try something: try to log into recovery mode and open command prompt, do the login as requested when opening command prompt,
now usually registry has backup when something changes so, go to windows/system32/config
tey to find if any files are present in "RegBack" folder if so, u might be lucky if not, possibly too tough at this point.
now rename all registry files like SAM, BCD-TEMPLATE, SECURITY, SYSTEM, DRIVERS, DEFAULT, SOFTWARE, COMPONENTS into ____.bak where ____ is the actual name of each file as listed using "ren source dest" command
now copy all files from RegBack into parent folder config where you renamed files earlier.
If all good, hope for best and rstart windows.
possibly if the registry was backed up before corruption, u might get back into the system now

None of these worked for me, still get error codes when running "troubleshooting" for any and all listed "run" for windows update, Bluetooth, internet etc.

you can just double click the .reg file no need to open the reg editor

Do not do restore points, this will corrupt even more files in your Windows PC especially google chrome & other gaming programs like steam. I've had this one time & one time google chrome got corrupted on both restore points I had made. The way to fix that was by rolling back & undoing the restore points.
