Hi there. Thank you for your review. I just bought one and I find it a bit difficult to play, perhaps because of the high action. What’s your opinion of the high action? (And playability)?
jose s Hi, when I bought it I asked the store to lower the action a bit because I was going to use it mostly for fingerpicking and they actually did. You know that the neck is a little on the wide side. I don’t know if this is what’s bothering you...
Tom Eisenmenger hi, the main differences are: the Seagull has a warmer tone due to its solid cedar top, the neck is wider at the nut (1.8”). The Yamaha is brighter in tone (solid spruce top) and the neck is narrower. The finish on both guitars is glossy. Playability and action good on both. Your call 😉
Hi, you can see it as a seagull S6 Original but with a high gloss finish. I like that. Before this one my best s6 was the original. Now this is my favorite:)
guitarra74 Thanks. I’ll check it out. I see it’s a little bit more expensive than the original, but not by much. Any suggestions for a good app to learn how to play?
There are many interesting guitar courses on RUclips that might help better than many apps out there. Plus you can have the advantage of asking questions and getting many responses from real people. justinguitar for instance...
Bravo....Wish i had the money for one..Im trying to save up..Hopefully ill have one within the year.
Thanks. Wish you all the luck. It's worth it :))

Hi! How does this Seagull compare to the Yamaha FG-830 you reviewed previously? These are two of the top three guitars I am considering right now.

Any update from the scratches on the back?
C Ng Hi, finally it was a floor model and the store compensated me financially. I got a discount for it :))
What is the bracing inside? Is it scalloped? Thanks
C Ng Hi, it has Adirondack bracing which is stronger and lighter. I guess it is scalloped but not 100% sure though... Sorry...
Do you prefer this over the original S6? I see there are several models of S6 , what’s your favorite out of all the Seagull S6 guitars?
