This is such a special gift. What a beautiful family. Thank him for his service for me! And thank her for being a strong military wife. You are a beautiful person and so very blessed.
I just love this Ellen! I had a lady in my crunchy group bring my all of her remaining breast milk and I’ve made her 3 large loaves with it. I did my basic “goats n oats” soap with the breast milk replacing the goat milk, silk, local honey, colloidal oils, and no essential oils or colors since this is for her wee ones. It’s so awesomely natural and she cried that she didn’t have to throw away her milk. I just love it. Wish I had been making soap back when I was nursing my babes.
@@EllenRuthSoap Ellen to you and yours please pass it onto your nephew that I said TY For serving our country! My brother is a Marine 20+ years, both my parents are DEA agents, all kinds of whitehats in the family high on the food chain! Once a marine always a Marine! Semper fidelis! Great video btw! Let us know what she thinks of it!
The swirls and the texture on top are some of the most elegant I've seen from you! Would love to see more simple soaps with that top. Such a thoughtful gift as well. ❤
Such a beautiful soap! Wish I had known about this when I had babies. Your nephew is adorable congrats to the parents. Thank you for sharing your recipes. You are always so generous.
I wish I knew about this when I was breastfeeding my babies. Your great nephew is adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband got me a breast milk pearl kit for my first mothers day. I have done it with both of my boys. I love this idea. Both of my sons had really sensitive skin when they were little this would have been a really good idea to try on them.
What is a breast milk pearl kit? I need to get up with the times! I tried to breast feed but couldn't produce enough and I was YUGEEE but size is irrelevant! I tried everything! Didn't work! Ellen this would be a great product t market to pregnant moms and dads! Would be a huge hit! If you had added honey would it have effected the milk cause I know some day it overheats the milk! Just was curious?
@@morpro4u It is a Resin kit that you can get. You mix the breast milk with the Resin and put it into a mold and you can make it into jewelry. I made one with each of my boys. You can find the kids on Etsy. You can make all kinds of things with breast milk and resin. It makes a nice little keepsake for moms.
Ellen I just love you and your videos. I have learned alot from you. I feel like part of your family with all the love you share with us. Thank you so much.
Ellen, I love this. I wish I had learned to make soap when I was breastfeeding my babies, I used to dab it on everyone skin ailments, lol. My daughter and I get super excited when we see you've released a new video!
This is really interesting! When I made my breastmilk soap for my babies I didn't add the milk to the lye. I made my lye solution in a 1:1 ratio, made a Bastille soap, and then added 8oz of thawed breastmilk to it. This is a super interesting way to make milk soap, at least to me. I may have to try this! I really like the way milk soap feels on our skin (I totally use the soap for myself sometimes too).
I made a couple of batches of breast milk soap for one of my customer. I made just like you with a very similar recipe but unscented. I love the yellow swirls in your soap. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
I made a breast milk soap and it was wonderful! I'm really sad I wasn't able to get another batch made before I stopped producing - baby needed it more though at the end there, I had a hard time keeping up 😂 11 months of nursing was the longest I've been able to go and I would've gone longer had I not needed dental surgery and had to not feed for a few days and she lost interest. Then my body just seemed to know it was over and just stopped except for the random drop here and there. If I have another I'll definitely be making more and maybe do a lil more stockpiling if I can manage it 😂 I loved the design for this one, so simple and pretty! You can just look at it and see the skin Loving goodness in it ☺️
I just love this recipe. If only I made soap when my son was born. I know it would’ve helped with his eczema because the colloidal oats help so much. Thank you for sharing!!! Oh how I wish I still had breast milk Lol 😩
@@EllenRuthSoap if only we knew…. Ughhh but I’m glad you have a recipe that can be used. I’m sure most mothers would love to turn their breast milk into skin nourishing soap. Or even a lotion or body butter if that’s possible…. 🤔hmm… thank you again.
Excuse me Ellen, i don't want to come off as being rude because I love your channel and your soaps and thisnk your such a cool and nice woman but i just have to correct you on the way you said to calculate soap fragrance usage. Only because it can be a possible safety concern and I feel strongly about it and I'm sure you do too. Anyhoo.. lol sorry for the long message so when calculating soap fragrance the total oils weight (TOW) is the only weight used to determine percentage of fo used. the reason for this is that the water is meant to evaporate off in due time (the cure) and as we know the lye itself transmutes into salt/soap so the total remaining soap is just the sum of the oils really. That's why it isn't right to add the "water" content into the tally to figure out safe usage rate (as per suppliers safe percentages) for our soaps. I hope this made sense. Anyway love your work, love your soap and admire your talents very much tahnks for another beautiful video xoxo
I forgot to ask you about your coconut oil… I noticed that it was really white and was wondering if you would share where you purchased it. That breast milk soap looks so creamy and love those colors.💛💛💛
Oiii Ellen !!! Eu amo seus vídeos, seu canal e gostaria de pedir se teria colocar as medidas em gramas, pois tenho dificuldade com onzas...se for possível serei muitooo grata!!!🙌🌻🥰
I mean women donate breast milk to hospitals so I don’t see an issue with selling breast milk soap to others if it’s from a knowledgeable and reputable soap crafter
While I agree with you, it is considered bodily fluids by the governing bodies that oversee health and beauty products. It would leave any soap maker open to fines, their shop being closed and potential litigation. The risk is just too high.
This is such a special gift. What a beautiful family. Thank him for his service for me! And thank her for being a strong military wife. You are a beautiful person and so very blessed.

It was really fun💕❣️
I love this ❤ I tried this , same recipe but a few oils substitutions . My milk turned completely yellow . Is that a problem ?
No problem, milk turns anywhere from yellow to orange when it reacts with the lye. It should bounce back to a cream color.
So nice. Thank you for sharing

How long did they set before you cut them? And how soon can you use them?
I cut after 24 hours, and cure for 4-6 weeks before using.
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you !!
Great idea
Do you think if i replaced this with canola oil it would turn out nice? I ran out of olive lol
I suggest running the amounts with the oils your using thru soap calc, not all oils have the same sap value.
Thank you! What size batch is this? Is it a 2 pound or 3 lb
Did you not use preservatives? How’s the milk going to stay stable without it?
The chemical reaction of saponification preserves the milk👍
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you for that! I wanted to make my own breastmilk soap and I wanted to make sure that the milk doesn’t spoil and it would last.
Can I add vitamin e to this recipe? I bought all the ingredients and cannot wait to make!
Yes, you can add a small amount. Be sure to run the numbers thru a soap calculator

Hi Ellen, can you tell me how much is .50 ounces, I'm trying to get some tussah silk from from bescented and they won't answer me!
