On July 4, 1946, the Philippines declared its independence after more than four decades of American rule. The US flag at Luneta was lowered down and was replaced by the Philippine flag which was raised by President Manuel Roxas.
Exactly 50 years later on that same day, it has been re-enacted wherein the US flag hanged over the Philippine flag by accident but was later hanged off and the Philippine flag reached the peak of the flagpole. This is as if the US would not let the Philippines go.
FUN FACT: The actor who played Manuel Roxas in the 1996 re-enactment was veteran actor and later Ambassador to US Amado Cortez who's an uncle of Robin Padilla. His real name was Arsenio Ruiz Padilla.

Don't forget at the time when the Philippines was under U.S at the time the flag of the United States was 48 stars since Alaska and Hawaii wasn't being a states until (1959 to 1960).

Where did you find the source for the 1946 one? Was Diwa ng Bayan the anthem that time?
Hello. I just used the audio of the Diwa ng Bayan for the 1946 videos because the national anthem was never heard in the films I found on YT. I used this to connect with the 1996 audio of our anthem.
The 1946 one is very rare
But the audio was from 1943. I used that audio since it's in the mid-40s and because its instrumental.
