- Microsoft is gonna start looking into why game devs aren’t prioritizing its console, the Xbox Series, over PS5 when deciding what platforms their games should be on.in relation to bringing their games to its console. In a developer blog, Microsoft announced that it’ll be directly engaging with game creators to hopefully enhance the experience between the corporation and development partners. Seems like many game devs have been putting the Xbox consoles on the back burner due to certain struggles game devs have experienced with the #Xbox ecosystem. One major example that comes to mind is Baldur’s Gate 3, which was delayed on Xbox series consoles due to the Series S being unable to run the split-screen multiplayer option. Many other developers have publicly expressed their concerns with Xbox which led to them having to delay their games. Entoria: The Last Song experienced quite the delay allegedly due to Microsoft taking too long to communicate with the studio developing the game.due to issues with Xbox, claiming Micros. But it seems Microsoft is really hoping to hone in on what these issues might be with this new initiative. Plus some Silent Hill Townfall and Mario 2 movie news to jump into. Xbox doesn't need 2 consoles in my opinion. Too many issues as we see right now. Hopefully next gen will be just one console. If they go 2 separate again it could hurt them deeply

@@tencheenian Not even remotely the same thing. Sony made a console that's stronger than their base model and their competition. Microsoft's bright idea was to make a console weaker than their base model and competition.

For consoles it is, especially when majority of the play base isn’t spending money, most consoles are sold on a loss and they aren’t recouping the money like ps
In console sales, that is small as that's still selling at a loss due to how the majority of those sales were when the console was more expensive to produce then it was selling at.
It's more than gamecube, wii U, n64, dreamcast, and the original xbox so not even light numbers at all.

Devs are racing to release their game first on PS5 because it yield more returns than Xbox. most Xbox players rely on gamepass compared to playstation outright sales.
If you're someone that likes to play casual/old/indie/multiplayer games, get the Xbox Series X (there are also more games that supports 120fps on Xbox than PS since it has FPS Boost such as Titanfall 2 or Battlefield 1). If you're someone that wants to feel immersion and play awesome cinematic games, get a PS5 for the exclusives. If you dislike consoles and want the best of both worlds, get a PC.
Cinematic games cause you just play x over and over again to move the cinematic forward :P
If you want cinematic games, you might as well buy a PC since all exclusive games are there anyway these days. If not today, then next year.

You're ignoring a major flaw in this, the first thing you said should be get a series x or pc, because newsflash, those game's aren't exclusive on xbox, they're also on pc thanks to gamepass, which is why xbox sales have plummeted so much over the last decade.
Xbox consoles doesn’t get prioritized by game devs because Microsoft themselves doesn’t prioritize them, the Xbox Series consoles are the worst selling consoles this generation and what is Microsoft doing about it? Continuing telling consumers that you don’t need to buy an Xbox to play to Xbox. Not to mention that Phil Spencer is trying to create a culture in this industry where it’s normal not to buy games.
They should just focus on making that Xbox handheld they been supposedly working on

1. There's No value in not owning one's game.
2. There's heaps of better game sales like Steam/GOG

Hard to sell a game on a system when your competing with gamepass and people expect your game on the service and less likely to buy it for that reason

There is no need to look, Just make the games immersive, cinematic, great story, single player, don't release on PC, make it Xbox only. That is why Playstation is Winning, simple as that. As a player who is trying Xbox from PS, they are way behind.

The fact that an entire dev studio quit because their demands weren't met is insane! Conditions must have been horrendous.
Um because ps5 has a larger install base = more players which then = more people to buy your game. Also every generation its been this way the console with the largest install base is the priority. They're seriously spending money to try and work something out that has been the norm in the industry since the beginning? Also probably doesn't help that Microsoft themselves dont even prioritise Xbox. If the people who make the console dont care about it why should other devs? Its like Xbox doesnt understand the simplist things in the industry anymore
TIME TO FIND THE REAL REASON BECAUSE IM TIRED OF THE RUMORS
Let us still play the game without the need to update it. Optimize updates shouldn't have to be mandatory, but instead be optional especially for older generation games. 360 and Xbone games shouldn't add 20-60gb more because of it. Especially when the games already look good because they're being upscaled. Offline games shouldn't require a check in just to play a game you bought.
Yes they do without a question the base PS5 is weaker than Xbox series X and if Devs take full advantage of the Xbox series X it can be comparable to PS5 Pro in hindsight in my opinion

Sony’s tools are better than Direct X. This is why most games are comparable on both consoles.
Sales kinda prove the point of who's got the better console. So why not prioritize where you're gonna make your money.

Easy answer is yes... when you see games prioritize with Xbox in mind like Alan Wake and Space Marines 2 it's the superior version
They have traded back and forth the last few years depending on the game, but now that PS5 Pro exists, Xbox will not have a single game better on its platform for the next 3+ years of the generation.

Cause you need to prioritize the Xbox console, not trash pass and no date and day PC releases. If you wanna win next gen prioritize physical media, strong first party releases and market the CONSOLE.
What does that MS quote even mean, “player experiences often take precedence over developer tools”? Those two things are created by entirely different devs for entirely different audiences. If the tools suck, improve them!
Xbox problem:
- does not have motion sensor in controller. means it is currectly the only console controller in the world that does not support gyro. playstation had them since ps3! nintendo had them since wii!
- still using AA battery in controller. it save insane amount of cost for making the controller which is true, but who enjoy having so many battery waste in their house? anyone? hope your kids don't accidently shallowed them.
- no touchpad on controller. touchpad can be used up to 4 pressing button and 4 touching button or act as full mouse function, means xbox does not had enough buttons to support many games like ps4 or ps5 do.
- xbox did not had anything that make them stand as Next Gen, because everything is basically the same as before, except new share button that playstation had them since ps4.

An actual pc that’s is a console that you can play steam games or whatever on. A pc, but it’s a consol you hook up to your tv, use either controller or mouse and keyboard. Closes the gap between consol and pc and expands the freedom for devs. There, made you billions of dollars

The only thing xbox seems to have done right in recent years is game pass. The ps4 generation was somewhat of a console war but current gen was over at the start.

IGN loves jabbing at Xbox. But never talk about the Rockstar and Playstation negotiating about releasing PS5 Pro right before GTA 6. So that PS5 players are forced to buy GTA 6 on the PS5 Pro and so that Rockstar can convince gamers to buy it on the current gen consoles, then the next gen consoles for 4k 60 fps and also on PC. IGN should write about that instead of tearing Xbox down article after article. As we speak, many people who recently bought the PS5 and Series X just for GTA 6 now are in doubt if they can enjoy GTA 6 the way it is intended. That’s a horrible business practise by Sony and Rockstar. And since you never discuss it, you are not here for the gamers but where the money is.

Small install base and more importantly Xbox has spent a fortune over years directing its audience into Game Pass. If you're going to shape consumer behavior don't act surprised when developers and publishers gravitate to an ecosystem like Steam or PSN where they can sell products.
