    Great episode Skyler. I don’t know too many other departments that have a rescue support vehicle. At least not one they talk about. FDNY rules!

  • @ex-missourifireexplorerrob8274

    Very awesome; I've been reading up on FDNY; I know one of the rigs next to the logistics unit is the safety battalion, is the other one the command tactical unit? Also seen, was the pickup with open bed rescue ops, & vans part of rescue ops/SOC/logistics? Not trying to overload my question, is the RUL rescue unit leader; the FAST unit, if I was told correct on a different page, the 3rd due Ladder; SOC support ladder the pickup truck, with box chassis; communications engine similar to communication support unit for the chiefs; figuring, are the hazmat tech engines, assuming there is more than one, or at least with hazmat housing stations, cross trained as hazmat; city tour commander one of the division chiefs; I promise no more questions, what was the unit behind the TSU in the bay? Again, not trying to overload my technical questions.

    • @SkylerFire
      @SkylerFire  10 месяцев назад +1

      Safety Battalion not at this house. Yes command tactical, support vehicles for rescue ops. RUL is resource unit leader would be at command post at fires on the 2nd alarm and above it’s a battalion chief. Yes for SOC support and fast truck. Comms engine has extra kutta radios for subways and command. 4 hazmat tech engines and 8 squads that act as hazmat techs. Behind TSU is the SOC Compressor

      @@SkylerFire I really do appreciate your patience; figuring you would know, I've seen the HazMat Battalions, with & without CBRNE, figuring they are the same, just minus the CBRNE wrote out, not wanting to assume, & again not wanting to over load my questions.

    If this unit is to support trench collapses and shoring operations, shouldn't it be also carrying extra supplies of timbers and plywood sheets?

    The Europeans use roll off trucks where they can load up a container for the specific job and respond with that. I would think FDNY would benefit from something like that. They could reduce fleet costs by doing that. Only takes about 1 minute to change out a container. They are used commonly here in the US for trash dumpsters. Definitely something that is under utilized here in the US.

    • @SkylerFire

      FDNY has 2 roll offs… numerous containers

    • @SkylerFire

      FDNY has encrypted channels and special channels they can use for special events. They also still have to monitor the Boro frequency

      @@SkylerFire They've retired newer ones than that, its odd. maybe reserve squad but it dosen't really look like one. Could it be a funeral truck or some kind of parade/ceremonial rig.

    • @SkylerFire
      @SkylerFire  8 месяцев назад +1

      @FTAfiretrucks it’s a 2003 rig. The busy 2008, 09. 10 rigs they get rid of. That 2003 engine was the slowest engine in the FDNY 400 runs a year. It is soon to be replaced tho
