I was relieved to see that Max was respectful and seemed to enjoy it, as well as the chat. My anxiety has been through the roof the last 5 days, so thank you Max.
Just SEEING PSO gives me all the warm fuzzies. I spent hundreds of hours on PSO episode one and two on the gamecube. Everytime I hear Max using it as background music it makes me smile.

Without Diablo we probably wouldn't get PSO, as the producer was a Diablo nerd that wanted to do an online action RPG inspired by it. It changed a lot during production until it became what we got.

These 2 are the most influential Japanese games of the last 2 decades. Shenmue was the most expensive game ever made at its time and set the standard for urban RPGs and open world in Japan. PSO straight up brought online to consoles and created a gameplay loop that's found in all sorts of Japanese games, now most well known in the Monster Hunter franchise. These 2 games are responsible for shaping up gaming we know today.

To be honest I like the closed maps of pso and pso2 alot more than NG. It just feels more home-y to me. Although I am just a boomer who doesnt like empty feeling open world games lmao.

This fanmade game is cool and all that, but they should just make a new next gen Shenmue game. Shenmue III didn't quite hit that satisfaction that I got from the Shenmue I and II. They need to go all out if they finally did decide to make Shenmue 4! It needs to be as crazy as the Yakuza game series!

An early concept for Shenmue was as a Virtua Fighter action RPG, starring Akira.
Seeing the Varista made me so happy. My first ever red drop and the first thing i dig for whenever I hit up a server.

I've played pso2 and pso2 ngs but never played pso
I still prefer PSO over 2 as it’s more simple designed where PSO2 just felt too bloated in my opinion.
Japanese PS1-gen music is unbeaten when it comes to both being atmospheric and catchy
It sucks that the new pso game is so bad in the form of New Genesis, they really had something special going on with the older pso titles
