So lovely, peaceful, and calming. I love East Asian culture and traditions, especially Japan because of (in my perspective) the continuity. May the culture, traditions, and the values remain eternal. 🙏
Thank you so much. I lived in Japan for almost a year and observed some Shito priests at ceremonies. What fasciated me most is seeing the differences in everyday living as opposed to ceremonies. Here it shows priests being very happy, smiling, laughing and enjoying the day as opposed to the priests we see at ceremonies being very stoic and somber. Great video guys.
Muchas gracias por compartir, maravilloso el santuario, muy linda la enseñanza Realmente es la 1ra vez que veo un santuario shintoista....muy interesante 👍👏👏 😘🤗🇦🇷
Thank you ! Now I understand more about Japanese culture : so beautiful so loving so wise -The reason of good peaceful happy lifestyle. HOPEFULLY I wish everyone in this world i n their religion : happy loving and wise 24:3424:34
I think one of the saddest things about globalization is the loss of culture in many lands as they are absorbed by the greater Western culture. I am happy to see these Shinto priests and shrines continuing to practice their culture and religion. As a Catholic I see similarities: the duty to be thankful, the duty of gratitude, the duty of hospitality, the duty of cleansing from sin, the practice of being reborn. Truth is truth and can be found in many places.
Wow, this video really opened my eyes to a side of Japanese culture I knew absolutely nothing about! The dedication and the daily life of a shrine priest are so much more complex than I imagined. I'm fascinated. Has anyone else had their perception of Japanese shrines changed by this video? What was your biggest surprise?
i guess this is the next best thing to actually visiting vulcan 🙂

僧侶は曹洞宗の紋章が付いた着物を着ています。確か、永平寺(または總持寺)の紋章ではないかと思います。その神社と曹洞宗との関係は何でしょうか? The priest is wearing a kimono with the emblem of Sōtō Zen. If I’m not mistaken, it’s the emblem of Eiheiji (or Sōjiji). What is the connection between the shrine and Sōtō Zen?
Thanks!

great video, very interesting in sights and explenations. could i as a foreigner volunteer in a shrine?
As what? Miko? I think only the male heir(s) could work as the priest.
👏🙏👏
Ok the AI voice take away from the charm.... This would have been better with the original audio and subtitles.
