It's incredibly unfortunate the H6 cannot record a -12db backup through the XLR inputs.

Great video, it contains every information and knowledge for a non expert in sound devices to understand and make a decision about his needs, thank you so much for that! I am a filmaker and I am interested in H6 after watching this video but I need to ask, can I use lav mics only in the 3.5mm mini jack input? What if I need for example to use 4 lav mics at the same time in a shooting? And what kind of headphones do you use to better monitoring these recorders, with low impedance such as 32 Ohm, or with middle impedance of 80 Ohm? Thank you!

I really like the completeness of your video. I'm a singer. Would the H5 give me better audio recording quality than my old H4N Pro?? Thank you!
If it's the older H4n, without the Pro, then yes, the H5 produces better sound. If it's specifically the H4n Pro, then no, the H5 and H4n Pro basically sound the same. The advantage of the H5 is that you can get different capsules. The H5 would sound better if you get the H5 with the SGH-6 capsule, as that will capture sound more directionally. The built-in mics on the H4n Pro capture more of the room.

Thank you so much. I actually bought one today on Amazon! I like the features on this one better than my old H4n, and the added battery life was a "plus."

The Zoom H6 is being sold in the EU for € 339, the H6 for € 359,, I don't get it. I do like the smaller form factor of the H6.
