@@walterwhite1 hm I think SNES DRUNK has some points but he complains about a lot of nonsense too: He didn't understand that there is a accuracy/hit avoidance system and just pointed out that it is a flaw when he missed to hit a mosquito with a bone (he mentioned that in both of his videos). The game got some harder riddles, like the market in Nobilia, and he complains that he couldn't solve it. I really like the game for these quests because you have to think about it, they have an implicit nice logic. It is an RPG and not a Super Mario like Jump'n'Run. And for the games progress these hard quests are not essential they are just optional. I can live with the "masterpiece" statement ;)
I always enjoyed the sense of humor in this game. From the movie quotes to the Omnitopia bot who's late for work. Though one easter egg that was missed (and understandably so) was if you name your character something obscene, the skeletal boatman in the desert will call you a potty mouth and overcharge you for the ride, lol
This is my favorite action RPG of all time. It took the best elements of Secret of Mana and amped them all up to 11. The soundtrack is amazing, the story is immersive, and the characters have a great mix of whit and humor. Those of us who grew up playing NES and SNES as our first systems were truly blessed with such great games.
This brings back childhood memories. Played this with a friend every day after school. Secret of Mana was also very good... but Evermore holds a special place in my heart
Maaan this game helped shaped my childhood and taste in music. Got hooked on this, managed to complete it (cos it was rock hard in places) then Square released FFVII. My schooling never stood a chance.
fun fact the secret of evermore soundtrack is composed by jeremy soule who also composed the first four harry potter games soundtracks including the soundtrack of harry potter quidditch world cup, guild wars 1 and 2 soundtracks and the elder scrolls 3,4 and 5 soundtracks
I never knew about that spinning thing in the desert to get rice and spice. Learning something new with old games I played countless times never ceases to amaze me.
So much Nostalgy! I don’t like when people rushing through the game! The tempo is perfect and no commentary! Thank you for uploading! Like and subscribe
Sadly never complete this game back in the days because of the extremly hard endboss, if i had known that that fight with the clones was the last boss maybe i had cleared it.... anyway Thank you very much for the Longplay.
Man I have been looking for this game for so long... and just the memories of be playing it was existing in my mind... But finally the day has come. The day that I found it. Now, I can rest in peace... Well, just after I play this masterpiece, of course.
I've had it since the SNES... then again, it does help that I'm old enough to have my first video game systems be the atari 2600, coleco telstar, and the intelevision... and I wasn't even alive when those were made, but I was 3 when the NES came out
Thank you! This brings back a lot of memories, this game helped shaped my infancy, I used to play it with a long term friend along with other games such as Contra, this game was my companian too for so many nights! Thank you for this memory
Secret of Evermore, Terranigma, Illusion of Gaia, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Earthbound, Secret of Mana and Star Ocean. The SNES had probably the best RPG lineup ever with possibly its only contender been the PlayStations RPG selection.
For some reason Salabog was the "Shit just got real" moment. The music, the emaciated look on its face, the scale of it. The screen shaking roars. Yeah, how Thraxx didn't do it I don't know. I have brain problems. Don't blame me.
Snes RPG are simply amazing, i remember playing this and it's a completely different vibe to secret of mana.... as an introvert and a guy, this is one of my most fav games...
🎮 Comment Back then I haven’t played this game.. boy did I miss out. This is a true SNES masterpiece in every way, music, graphics, gameplay.. just awesome. Numerous great boss fights and tons of alchemy “spells” to try out. I personally read all text boxes in my head while playing the game to ensure that I leave them on the screen long enough. I have cut out some bits of pure grinding, which I did to power up some weapons.
This game along with Illusion of Gaia are secret gold for RPGs from that era...Chrono Trigger being the best game they made of that era before Playstation
Man me and my lil sister got deep into this game when we were kids and never finished it. She was killed in 2019. But I think I want to finish it now just for her.
I really have to go back and play this, I swear still to this day I found the vendor that sells Dry Ice and the other part to make Call Beads up in the moon base. It was hidden as a Wall Vending Machine. I remember almost completely maxing out all alchemy spells except for that one because they were just so damn expensive. I just have to get through the game to look for it again.
@@stevena105 I have started playing but am currently in the desert area, got a long way to go. But I swear I distinctly remember stumbling across a wall vending machine that sold the mats for more Call Beads. But they were ridiculously expensive in credits. Back then I never realised that gold was the best currency to change to credits.
For the Thraxx boss, wedge yourself between the legs on the right hand side and spam alchemy until the chest opens, then attack. That way, you don’t get thrown across the screen when it roars, can recover quickly and keep attacking. The whole fight should take less than five mins. If you set the dog high enough, it’ll keep the maggots off your back so you hardly need to heal
I love this game. Shame not many people seem to know about it, Illusion of Gaia, or even Chorno Trigger! I got on livestreams & almost no one knows about these games! Especially the first 2! 😢 This is also the game where the butler DID do it!😂
i remember owning and playing this game the strongest was the bazooka and its infinite ammo had that thing stocked with max ammo though didn't need to as yopu could just max charge it and deal max damage with it
From the Snes "Secrets", this is my favorite. Then Secret of the Stars, and then Secret of Mana. I didn't finish Secret of Mana. I think it's boring. But Secret of Mana had the best soundtrack, hands down.
God, I find this game so much harder then Secret of Mana. Because in Mana the Boss Battles were not so hard, and spamming magic without having to worry about items and such were easier. I've died countless times in that damn first boss because I apparently don't fucking know how to aim my attack to it's arms, and when I do hit, it misses the attack, so there's that. Also, there are so many more enemies and places to go compared to Secret of Mana... This game is a good game, unless you're trying to beat it without dying (I'm trying to add a little more difficulty to it on my own now).
The only game I held onto & didn't have to rebuy years later from my original SNES collection, I always hated Japanese RPGs & this was much more my style
I think you skipped the underwater cave entrance to the area underneath the pyramid. I’ve seen walkthroughs that say Tiny is there but for someone reason when I watch them there is a rock you can levitate that isn’t there in my game.
